First let me say how much I adored this book. It is the first in a series and I absolutely loved it from the minute I started it. Summer Montgomery is not your typical female heroine and that is part of the reason I fell in love with this character. Damien Cole is your typical bad boy with a heart of gold for one particular girl. This book is definitely a second chance romance with a few twists and turns along the way. I was not expecting some of the plot twists that were thrown in here and I absolutely was on the edge of my seat every time I turned the page. I can honestly say I cannot wait to see how this series continues, but this book can be read as a standalone if you wanted it to be. I was not expecting Summer to be such a spitfire it was a very nice and very unexpected twist. The way these two banter with each other is hilarious! I can’t wait to see where the rest of the series goes. Damien Cole is a bad boy and Summer Montgomery is his polar opposite. It gives the story a very nice flow.

Usually, I gravitate towards the heroine of the story and feel all her emotions, frustrations, etc. Unfortunately, Summer fell short for me. She was so stubborn and so selfish, that I got annoyed with her. I guess that is testament to the author’s writing that she wanted me to see Summer as a dramatic and selfish person. She did a great job on that.

Damien, on the other hand, hit all the right buttons. Sexy and tattooed, sign me up.
