Love shines the way under the Northern Lights!

As usual, my advice when considering books by this highly talented author is don’t bother reading my review, just read this heartwarming second book in the Alaskan Hero series!

Even though this is a relatively short story, it is filled with so much action that it ‘feels’ much longer when you read it - that’s in a great way, nothing negative. The Alaskan setting is amazing and the author’s knowledge of living and working there shines through, somewhere

Great read! When asked by his famous hockey playing brother to cover for him at a masquerade ball, Ethan Forrester figures he can do a quick in, shake a few hands, quick out. No big deal! What he didn't expect was to meet the first woman who has peaked his interest since the death of his wife five years ago. Bad part is, she's a reporter who desperately needs an interview with Dane Forrester, his brother who NEVER does interviews.

Carly Hughes gave up everything to come to Alaska for a fresh star

First of all thank you Rebecca for this ARC!!! In return I will give my honest review.
This is such a wonderful book. I am a winter and snow girl so the setting is perfect. AND I must say the Forrester men are charming and sexy. Omg I love all of them!!!
It did take me a few days to read only because I was working but the minute I got uninterrupted reading time I did not put this book down. Such an easy read.
I almost gave up on Ethan myself that little sucker but I really didn't want to. And I

A feel-good contemporary romance with a masquerade ball
4.5 stars

I really liked this contemporary romance novella. It had so many cool elements including a modern masquerade ball, a widower posing as his pro-hockey player brother, a spunky heroine, and an Alaskan Lodge in the winter. I also really liked the heroine's tendency towards total honesty. I quite enjoyed it. I would have loved it a little more if Ethan had not pushed the heroine away for so long, and I wish that the dialogue flowed a

I enjoyed this story very much. I liked how straightforward Carly was. Things get a little tricky as they try to decide whether they are dating or not, but Carly never hides that she is a reporter (It is a pet peeve of mine to see other stories do that.) Her straightforwardness also means that we don't get any of that "misunderstanding because we never had an actual conversation" stuff. And she can play hockey, too -- that scene was so funny.
Ethan has the broody thing going on, but I didn't thin

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

A hit in my opinion. I just love how Ms. Thomas brings her characters to life. The story is written with dual POVs so the reader can identify with the characters and to understand them better. There was plenty angst here. You cheer for Carly and her mission to get want she wants. While at the same you feel the grief and heartache that Ethan feels and is suffering through.

A well written story that will engage your attention at the beginning and keep you page turning from then one. Even though I had not read the first two books in this series, I was able to follow along. But this book was so good I want to go back and read the first two books. The story of a newbie reporter who manages to get an interview with a reclusive hockey star which she thinks will jumpstart her career. They meet at a masked ball and she has no idea that he is impersonating his sick brother ...more

Melting His Alaskan Heart: I loved that Ethan was totally opposite to his other brothers. Sometimes the quiet ones are the best ones. I loved that he cared about everyone and everything. He is still hot in his own way. It doesn't matter whether he thinks he's good looking or not but that is sometimes what woman see in the quiet ones. I loved how Rebecca chose to write this brother and it was a perfect story! A great romance that was not planned but it forced him to get out there whether he wante ...more

An Awesome Book!

I loved reading Melting His Alaskan Heart(Alaskan Hero Book 3), all about Ethan Forrester a part time fire fighter and part owner of the lodge in Gold Creek & Carly a Journalist. They met when Ethan pretended to be Dane at a fundraiser that Dane was sick for. Carly wanted an interview of Dane and Ethan grated it, then in the morning confessed he lied. The author wrote a story about a young woman who is determined to get what she needs both professionally & personally! Read the st

This is a well written story about Ethan and Carly. At a masquerade party, Carly thinks she has been lucky enough to land an interview with the hot NHL captain. Ethan is posing as his brother behind a mask and enjoys his time with Carly. When Ethan and Carly take the interview up to the penthouse, things progress and the masked man rocks her world. When the light of day arrives, Carly wakes up beside a stranger. Can Ethan make it up to her? Can Ethan accept that beauty is skin deep and people lo ...more

Great romance. Ethan lost the love of his life and he refuses to open his heart to another female. Carly's just the woman to force his heart open and heal old wounds. can she be patient enough to cure him though read the story to find out. This is a standalone with a HEA.
A great story

I have fallen in love with each of the brothers. I can feel the fire in the fireplace at the lodge. I love to dream and this author's stories set you up for sweet dreams!

This is book 2 in the Alaskan Hero series and is just as captivating as book 1 (Her Alaskan Hero) was! I think this could be read as a stand alone, but book 1 was so good! You'd be doing yourself a favor by reading book 1 and then this one! It'll just make you fall more in love with the characters! It's like you are revisiting Gold Creek and getting reacquainted with everyone you enjoyed being around!

Sometimes it takes a ton of perseverance to get what you want, and that is the theme behind Melting His Alaskan Heart by Rebecca Thomas. In order to keep her brand new job, sports journalist Carly Hughes needs to get an interview with hotshot professional hockey player Dane Forrester. Unfortunately, Dane does not give interviews, so Carly's task is next to impossible. Luckily, Dane is attending a masquerade charity ball, and that is where Carly intends to pounce. I have been enjoying author Rebecca Thomas's, Alaskan Heroes, series since the first release and so when I had the opportunity to continue my reading I went for it. I was not disappointed by, Melting His Alaskan Heart. In fact I found more of a sizzling romance in this novel than I did in the previous book and for me that is a bonus alone.

At the beginning of the book I was first introduced to Ethan, the hero who has agreed to take the place of his famous brother in a charity event, a masquerade

This is the second book in the Alaskan Hero series and I love it. I did not read the first one, which means I now have to go back and do that. This is romance at its best, in a cold climate with tragedy in one of their pasts and love to help them overcome it.

The Forrester family is always there for each other. When Dane, the captain of the NHL hockey team in Alaska is too sick to go to a fundraiser, he convinces his brother Ethan to go in his place. It is a masquerade, so the owners of the team

Melting his Alaskan heart is such a heartwarming story and when I have had a rough day it's the perfect thing. Carly works as a reporter for a sports magazine, but as her first assignment she is told to get the interview from Dane Forrester or she is done as a reporter. So she dresses as an angel to a charity ball that Dane is supposed to be attending and little does she know that Danes brother Ethan is filling in as him because Dane is too sick. Well they meet at the bar and Carly gets a little ...more

Book 2 in this series continues on with a terrific story. The Forrester family is so close and always there for each other, so when Dane, the NHL superstar captain, is sick and can't attend a charity event, he calls on his brother Ethan to go in his place. Ethan only agrees to do it because a mask will hide his scars, at least his physical ones and he thinks he can go to the event, make an appearance, and leave without anyone finding out. Even though the book is really short, it felt like a whole book to me. I never had the feeling I was missing out anything and there was a lot happening on 134 pages.

Carly is a very independent woman who knows what she wants. I really liked that about her. I also liked Ethan with his troubled past and struggling to lead his life. They made a really nice couple.

The setting of Alaska was absolutely amazing and one of the highlights

What happens when a relationship starts out with a lie? Is there any hope? What if you went to bed thinking you were sleeping with one person and woke up with another?

MELTING HIS ALASKAN HEART by Rebecca Thomas starts out with one of the main characters, Ethan, impersonating Dane his NHL playing brother at a charity event and crossing paths with a reporter hot on the heels of an exclusive interview with Dane. This was supposed to be a short, feel good novella, however, I just couldn’t really like the main guy.

After a tragic accident that killed his wife, Ethan Forrester basically lives in seclusion. Enter famous brother that convinces him to take his place at a masquerade ball and a reporter seeking an interview with said famous brother and we have a whole lot of drama.

Carly was an okay character, except it kept annoying me how she kept going after Ethan even after he made it clear he wanted nothing

Melting His Alaskan Heart by Rebecca Thomas was a wonderful story! I really enjoyed it. It wasn't very long but it packed in a lot of emotion and intensity. The widower who has locked away his heart, confronted by a red-headed vixen who is determined to rescue him from his loneliness might seem somewhat familiar as a plot line, but Ms. Thomas brings it to life and the enchanting environment of an Alaskan winter and the aurora borealis combined with the warmth of a strong and supportive family ma ...more

Rebecca Thomas wrote another amazing book. This was a stand alone book that I truly enjoyed!

Ethan steps in for his famous hockey brother,Dane, at a costume party where he meets Carly who wants an interview with Dane. Carly didn't know she was talking to Ethan but the next morning Ethan told her who he was. Ethan is widowed and has a hard heart but Carly is determined to break him down.

This was just an okay read for me. It was a fast paced, quick connection and fall in love kind of book. I am not sure it really had time to develop. The hero did a lot of pushing away and did a one-eighty kind of turn. The family members were once again cute. I look forward to reading the other brothers' stories.
