The book I asked my mom and dad to read so much that my mom surreptitiously trashed it to save them from going Mickey-insane.

Guess what my kids are going to be asking my mom to read to them at bedtime...

The Phantom Blot strikes again!

Of all the picture books you remember from childhood, the ones you liked the best are often the ones that left the biggest later impression on you. And this one, mixing Mickey Mouse into a pseudo-Forties mystery caper, definitely made an imprint. With almost noir-like narration, evocative pictures, and an imaginative plotline, I don't think I would have wound up as invested in genre fiction years later without Mickey and the Blot.

This book has such sentimental value for me. It was my first introduction to the Phantom Blot and it's just a great Mickey Mouse story.
