This book has lovely engaging illustrations on each page. The story follows a boy as he tries to find the perfect place to read his book. This book could be read to children at the start of a new school year before they input to the teacher what they would like their reading area to be like. It ends with the boy reading with his friends which shows the value of shared reading.

I had to do a double-take because my copy has the title, "A Place to Read." Cute and simple story about being comfortable and finding your favorite spot to read at the library. The exaggerated fonts to accentuate every word made this so much fun to read out loud.

Great illustrations! Perfect for the beginning of the year. It's sold as A Place to Read in the US. I like that title better!

Interesting illustrations and lots of rhyming words - perfect to read aloud to a KS1 class. Encourages reading.

I spotted this yesterday in the bookstore (I am still amazed when they have (newer) English books), and decided to check it out. The title just sounded so brilliant. :) I just had to know what was going on in this book, and if the kid would find the perfect chair!

The whole book is summed up to three things, chairs, reading, comfort. Every bookworm here knows that a great chair is a necessity if one wants to read. This little kid knows this as well so he goes on the hunt for the perfect chair, wi

Cute and comfortable enough to entertain pre-schoolers. Clever and creative enough to keep the more confident readers engaged. Hodgkinson's illustrations, a curious colourful mixture of collage and drawings whallop us with charm while the almost nonsensical prose draws readers on to the very end. It reminds me of all those sublime moments when as I young child, I'd curl up anywhere, any time with a book and become so absorbed in the reading of it I never felt the rain or noticed the roar of a ne ...more
