Sally Melville presents stylish knits from leftover wool, using simple techniques and patterns to combine diverse colours, wools and weights to create garments. This text presents 26 complete sweater, vest and jacket patterns for men, women and children - there's even a dog coat.
I bought a copy after following Ms. Melville's Craftsy.com "Stashbusting" class. How I hate that term! As if we must plod laboriously through our leftovers before we're allowed to splurge on a new project. I'd been longing for a new perspective, and here it is! Although most of the book covers her designs and how she arrived at them, the twenty pages of 'First Considerations' are groundbreaking and foundational. Now my fibre stock is sorted 18-litre plastic tubs, and I have the right organisational method to allow for stunning design. Cue the orchestra with "It's a Whole New World." ;0)
Any book that tells a knitter how to use up all of the odds and ends and single skeins of yarn is a must-read. Beautiful projects from beginner to expert.
