After three failed attempts, I have finally finished this book.

I did not like it. The story line was vague in a way that was intended to be suspenseful but just came across as confusing and unwritten. I am sure the author wanted us to take some kind of message from this book, but I am not sure what that is either. It is basically a story of the war between good and evil with underdeveloped characters who were human and spiritual. As a christian, I am aware of the existence of evil forces that roam and devour. However reading this book bored me to death and didn't adequately instruct others on how to properly repel these spirits. The use of description (patchwork quilt, faces in biceps) was excessive and didn't add to the story at all.

I will not be reading anymore of Evie Rhodes work.

African-American mystery. A woman, her children and the battle between good and evil.

I have read other Evie Rhodes books and she doesn't disappoint.

It took some serious effort to finish this book, I did not enjoy it. It was very flighty and weighed very heavily in the religious realm. I found a variety of grammatical errors and some spelling errors in the book, so it was that much harder to take it seriously - I expect those errors in digital books, not in printed ones. I would not recommend this book to anyone.

I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did but it's been four years since I read it and I couldn't remember the name of it... I finally found it here and it's definitely worth reading. Suspenseful and spiritual.

Although I did like the idea of the plot I felt that it was not developed as well as it could have been. I felt like the story line progression was less than favorable as it simply bounced around too much for me, often times from paragraph to paragraph. I felt that it should have focused more on character development, backgrounds, and explanations because it did not explain important background pieces. I felt that there were just too many wholes in the story and that it was not wrapped up well in the end. I really did not enjoy reading this book and I just do not think it was the right book for me.

Very good novel. Got me in touch with my spiritual side.

A woman is fighting a battle between good and pure evil. A battle she was long ago chosen to head off.

Very good read.
