It was one little fender bender. Sadie was only in picturesque Pineville, Michigan, for a day, trying to handle the ramshackle house her grandmother left her and juggle the sale of her failing design business at the same time. Sadie is in Pineville, Michigan to check out the house her grandmother left her. One quick glance at her phone and a raccoon sets off a domino effect ending with a light pole right down the middle of someone's truck.
Colt McCoy can't believe his eyes when his truck is destroyed by a falling light pole. When he finds out that Sadie was looking at her phone instead of the road, he loses his temper completely.
Calling the police doesn't exactly end as planned with them both having to serve community service decorating the town Christmas tree. What starts with anger and barbed words, soon turns into something a whole lot more.
I absolutely ADORED every single minute of this book. It made me laugh out loud SO many times I lost count. The hero and heroine were extremely likable. The banter between them was HILARIOUS at times. Colt was such an ass at first, but he gets over himself quickly and isn't afraid to apologize when he is in the wrong. Sadie was just super sweet. The things her and Allison got up to together..LMAO.
The festive small town feel was enjoyable, as was the plethora of secondary characters that you won't help but fall in love with. From baddie David (I think he is just misunderstood), to Jerome the single father cop. Not to mention Sadie's sidekick Allison, the "tree twins", and even the mayor get in on the matchmaking act. SO many well written and enjoyable secondary characters that added a nice backdrop for the main couple.
Add in some sexytimes (fairly mild), a little relationship angst (just a smidge), and this one should definitely be on your holiday TO READ list. Two HUGE thumbs up from yours truly.

2. Stop obsessing about selling grandma's house...Make it happen...
3. Forget EVER TEXTING WHILE DRIVING...swerving for the racoon, Yes it was cute...
4. Own up to the Asshat whose truck was CUT IN HALF because of that silly light pole...
5. Ignore that Asshat is handsome and you can't look the other way...Because he is a Stubborn Asshat.
6. Agree to do the Community Service, (Hahahaha, He has to, too and did that surprise him!) and make the Community Tree The Best Ever.
Things NOT To-Do:
1. Don't fall for Colt...Don't Fall for him... you have too many things you need to handle.
2. Stop your feelings and having fun with this man...especially when he owns up to being an Asshat...
3. Try harder to not have such fun experiences with Colt, bantering and looking at that mouth of his...
4. Stop yourself from thinking maybe...or maybe stop yourself from stopping yourself...

I'm really enjoying visiting in Pineville. It seems like a really cute town to visit or live in. I'm a huge fan of small town romances and this series fits the bill perfectly. You'll both love had hate the closeness of everyone (your business is everyone's business.
This is the second book and in the series and I'm already waiting for the next one. I really love Charles' writing. She blends happiness and heartbreak well.
The whole idea of these two having work together after the Judge (love him) community service is a the perfect holiday story. I can see it on the Hallmark Channel. And just like movies on the Hallmark Channel this isn't going smoothly.
Right away my first thought of Colt is WHAT A DICK! I'm not kidding you, that's what I thought. I figured there was no way in hell that the author would be able to turn him into hero material. I was so wrong. As the story unfolds you learn more and more about him and who he is.

Now Sadie I liked right away. For the most part she's a great character but there are times I wanted to slap her upside the help. The woman more then once refused to see what was right in front of her face. I'd love to say more but don't want to ruin it for you.
I think you'll love their stroll down romance lane. You really want both Colt and Sadie to find happiness. Add is the Christmas theme and this is a big hit with me!
Now I'm a big fan on reading series in order but I will admit that this one did have much to do with the first one other then the Judge. It can be totally read on its own, why you would I do know because Putting Out Old Flames is really good! Now all I have to do is wait for Why Did It Have to Be You? which comes out in May of 2017. A long wait for those of us that have read The Christmas Tree. You guys get it, right?

The Christmas Tree is a sassy holiday romance tale that will easily get the reader into the holiday spirit. Author Allyson Charles weaves an enjoyable tale set in the small town of Pineville, Michigan, that follows the humorous forced pairing of professional house stager Sadie Wilson and general contractor Colt McCoy, when they are sentenced to perform community service by decorating the town's Christmas Tree.
Sadie Wilson is in the small town of Pineville, Michigan, to get her grandmother's house that she inherited ready to sell. While driving through town, Sadie is waiting for a text from a potential buyer of her declining designer business, when she swerves to miss a raccoon in the street and hits a light pole that crashes on the cab of an F-150 Ford Truck owned by general contractor Colt McCoy. Sadie is charged with texting while driving and destruction of property, while Colt is charged with driving uninsured. Since they are both first time offenders, the judge sentences them to perform forty hours of community service by decorating the town's Christmas Tree within one week in time for the traditional lighting of the tree in the town square. Can total opposites forced to work together find a way to set aside their differences and petty squabbles in order to complete the community service, and along the way discover the magic of Christmas?
I really enjoyed reading this fun holiday romance, it had the right amount of witty banter, sassy humor, drama, angst, unexpected romance, and Christmas magic. You can't help but cheer on Sadie and Colt as they overcome their personal obstacles while working together on the town's Christmas Tree, and unexpectedly find love during the holiday season. I would be remiss if I didn't mention how much I enjoyed the rich description of the charm and holiday spirit of the small town setting, and the antics of the quirky Pineville townsfolk, who kept me thoroughly entertained and in stitches.

Funny, I first rated it a 4.5 Stars but as I was writing the review it brought everything back and I realized I truly loved this book and not just really liked it!!
Okay… okay… OKAY. The Christmas Tree was the CUTEST read ever! During this time of the year, my favorite channel is Hallmark where I can lay there all day watching movies after holiday movies like I have no kind of responsibilities in the real world. Well, The Christmas Tree gave me all the feels as if I am watching one of those movies. Actually to be fair, this book is MORE than those movies. I have an awesome imagination and am able to see vividly in my mind than a TV screen can offer – HA!
The one thing (not the only one) I loved so much in this story is the way they met. You’re just going to have to read it to find out for yourself. Let’s just say I read it a few times just so I can have the experience over and over again. I laughed, still smiling right this moment on how Colt and Sadie met. I just LOVE IT! The hubby always make fun of my love for the Hallmark channel this season so what else is there to do but make him sit there and listen to me while I rehash the book to him. TAKE THAT SUCKER! Best part – he was driving so he had no choice but to listen (so count that as him reading it as well). Just every bit of this book is truly darling. Darling?! See, I loved this story so much it has me spitting out words that are normally not in my vocabulary bank!
Every part of this story is just so lovable including the secondary characters. Those characters, let’s just say you are in for a treat! This story truly represents that small town holiday feel that makes a city girl like me want to live in a small gossipy town that people think they know your business better than you. Yup, how peculiar is that huh? After reading this The Christmas Tree, even the frustrating things can turn endearing!! Go figure!

The Christmas Tree by Allyson Charles is a sweet holiday romance that will really get you in the Christmas spirit. It is part of the Pineville series, but can be read as a standalone. I did not read the first book in the series and didn't feel like I was missing anything at all.
When we first meet Colt, I have to admit that I thought he was a giant jerk. As the story continues you start to see a little more about why he is the way he is and he really grew on me. I liked Sadie right away (even if I did want to grab her and shake her a few times). She's a little OCD and definitely a people-pleaser, so I could relate to her in that way.
This book was a little bit of everything; enemies to lovers, holiday fun, witty banter, with a little bit of angst/drama added in.

They may feel an immediate attraction to one another but the idea of acting on that attraction is the furthest thing from both of their minds…at least for a while. The story had me hating Colt, then warming up to him, and finally caring whether or not he and Sadie could find common ground. This was a cute, easy, fun Christmas story set in a small town that I recommend to those looking for a light entertaining holiday read.

This was a truly fantastic read. Filled with humor, holiday magic, and a wonderful romance. The witty banter between Colt and Sadie kept me laughing all the way through the book. These two first meet when they are involved in a little fender bender. Well maybe not so little but it was just an accident!! When the judge sentences these two to community service decorating the town Christmas Tree the real fun begins!!
Don't miss this one this holiday season. I highly recommend it.

Finding One's Way and Worth During The Christmas Season
The Christmas Tree is the second book in the Pineville Series by Allyson Charles that has so much "depth" and heart. It is a story full of fun, sweetness, bantering, interesting characters and of course, the Christmas Spirit.
Home Stager and Decorator, Sadie Wilson, has arrived in Pineville to take care of some personal business. She has a lot occurring in her life and feels adrift, without an anchor. Her nature is to be organized and deal with issues in a positive light. However, lately that has been hard to do and she has a feeling that she has disappointed so many, including herself. During one of the times when she is distracted and worried, she lands herself into a heap of trouble that might change the course of her life into something exemplary.
General Contractor and Business Owner, Colt McCoy has been going through life without enjoying anything. It has turned him into a person who loses whose cool rather easily. It does not help matters when his family's construction company has been suffering losses. He feels alone in the world even when he lives in the small town of Pineville, where people are caring and helpful. Having some legal troubles just might rectify many of the things missing in Colt's life, if he gives it a chance and remains open.
I am usually not a fan of the instant love or attraction trope but somehow this book was so different. There were so many story arcs and subplots that time in the book was not a factor. The authoress does a wonderful job describing the full day's events that the reader feels that they are observing a play or watching a movie. Even the supporting characters with their colourful personalities and intriguing backgrounds added so much to the story. You truly saw the occurrences of life in a small town and what a treat!
This story had me cheering and laughing at many places. The fights and arguments that occurred between the protagonists were steeped in reality. I enjoyed Sadie's and Colt's ride to the fullest. I love passion in romance books, but this was all about sensuality and being respectful. That puts Allyson Charles in a a league of her own. I am very curious to find out about Sadie's other girlfriend Allison and Colt's friend Connie's stories. This series was an absolute joy!
If you are looking for book where the characters grow together to like and love each other, with the help of some quirky and sweet characters, along with added heat and mixed with Christmas cheer, you will adore this book, maybe even the series!

I really enjoyed this small town Christmas story. This book will make you laugh out loud several times and leave you with a smile on your face. I love all the characters and I can’t wait to read more in this series. Wait until you learn who has been stealing the Christmas decorations, lol. Allyson Charles has quickly became a favorite author of mine and I can’t wait for her next release. Now, on to the next book in this series.

What does a quick glance away from the road, a raccoon, a falling light pole, a wrecked truck, a jinxed Christmas tree and two strangers have in common? One hilarious, touching and enjoyable Christmas tale.
Sadie had only intended to spend one miserable day in Pineville to tend to her grandmother’s house. Rotten luck seemed to follow her everywhere she went… and now dumb luck, okay maybe her own fault, but dumb nonetheless is keeping her in this small town doing community service with the most grumpy, handsome man she’s ever met.
Colt can’t believe his eyes or the reason why his truck in totaled. To say he’s not a happy camper is a vast understatement and instead of what he was looking for.. justice for the damage done… what he’s getting is tied up even tighter with this crazy woman on a community service sentence to put up the town’s totally jinxed Christmas tree.
Bad luck, horrible timing or two people coming together at just the right time to fall in love – very unexpectedly.
The Christmas Tree is quite simply one of those Christmas stories that will stay in your mind, and be brought out for another read next year – or whenever you need a good chuckle.
Sadie and Colt seem like an unlikely pair at first glance, but then no one is at their best under those circumstances. I have to admit, it was a little weird reading a Christmas romance in October. However, I really got into the Christmas spirit quickly, reading about the town's Christmas tree and the gift of healing during the holidays. It was a heartwarming story of Scrooge finding Christmas cheer and the woman who showed him how.
Sadie Wilson is having a rough year. With her business going down the drain and her grandmother's house to sell, the last thing she needs is to have her car smashed against a pole and said pole slicing a truck in half. But that's where she finds herself a few weeks before Christmas, and she's sentenced to serve community service decorating the town's Christmas tree alongside the truck's owner, Colt McCoy. Bearing a giant chip on his shoulder, Colt is a grouchy man who has no time for fooling around with the stupid traditions of the town. As he works with Sadie to complete the tree in time for the lighting ceremony, he begins to thaw to Sadie's inherent optimism and finds that Christmas might not be so awful after all.
I loved the banter between Sadie and Colt! They were basically an old married couple before the first ornament was even hung on the tree. Sadie was so exasperated with Colt for being so negative, while Colt was both charmed and irritated by Sadie's determination to make the Christmas tree as perfect as possible. As they grew closer, it was gratifying to watch their imperfections become what they loved most about each other. A true Christmas story of love!
Allyson Charles is a great writer, with a talent for creating realistic, relatable people and relationships. This book reminded me of the type of story you might find on Hallmark Channel during the holidays, though it had more sex and less corny behavior than one of their movies typically has. It was delightful and makes me eager to read more books in this series.

B-, so 3.5 stars I'm a sucker for holiday romances and this one is a fun read. It starts off with a rather absurd premise, but if you can move past that, the romance itself is both sweet and sexy.
Sadie is in Pineville, Michigan trying to settle out her inheritance from her grandmother. Back home, her life is in the dumps as she is desperate to sell her floundering event business. Hoping for a buyer, she gets caught up in texting and hits Colt McCoy's parked truck. Both Sadie and Colt end up in court -her for texting, him for driving without insurance. Now here's the crazy part: Even though these two are both in trouble, somehow the judge thinks it would be great to sentence them to decorate the community Christmas tree as punishment - and they even get supplies! Maybe I'm just jaded from years of practicing law, but that's one mighty trusting judge.
Colt obviously does not think much of Sadie and her city ways, and Sadie finds Colt boorish. However, when forced to work together, the two start to appreciate one another and after several cute scenes, it's obvious they're becoming more and more attracted. Add a local Christmas decoration thief to all the holiday fun and you've got a cute romance. I did wish that the story took place over a longer period of time as the relationship between Sadie and Colt felt rather rushed. However, it's still a charming story and I found myself chuckling more than once.

The Christmas Tree is the second book in the PIneville series by Allyson Charles. Although both this series and this author are new to me, I will certainly be seeking out the first book in this series and other books in this author's collection. I really enjoyed this cute little holiday romance!
This book was a delightfully fun read and I really enjoyed the characters. The two main characters, Colt and Sadie, hooked me from their first meeting and the other residents of Pineville were fun to get to know as well. I really enjoyed the character of Sadie. She was really trying to make the best out of a bad situation and that spirit began to rub off on grumpy Colt. And although he was not at his best when we first meet him, his grumpiness was certainly understandable and I was not put off by his attitude. In fact, I really warmed up to him as we got deeper into the story.
This cute holiday story was a really fun read and had me laughing out loud during certain parts. I read it a little early in the year to put me in the holiday spirit, but I'm betting a re-read by the fire in December will certainly do the trick! The characters were well written and the story had a really nice flow to it with lots of holiday magic thrown in. I certainly recommend it to fans of holiday romance novels.

An absolutely charming, quirky and hilarious romance with such memorable characters. This is the first book I've read by Ms Charles and I must say that I'm totally smitten. This author definitely has a knack for creating characters that'll touch your heart and leave a long lasting impression. Now that I have a taste of her writing style, I'll surely look for more of her books...I'm now a fan.
The storyline was fresh and captured my attention from the first page. There was not only the romance, but a bit of evil doing and a zany mystery with a Christmas thief to add to the mixture. The way the characters are described, their mannerisms, personalities, all add to the depth of the overall reading experience. Colt was not only charming and funny, but he also had an underlying innate goodness to him that came out throughout the story. Sadie, was smart and had a graciousness to her that easily won Colt over...even had him apologizing to her time and again. She did seem to generate chaos around her...she had her "Lucy and Ethel" moments that were laugh out loud funny. Colt and Sadie' wry and witty banter was top notch, their chemistry easily off the charts. A couple worth remembering.

This is book two in The Pineville Romance series and it is Sadie and Colt's story. When Sadie's grandmother died and left her the estate in Pineville all she wanted to do was get in and deal with the estate and then drive away but she ended up having a accident. Colt is a contractor and when his truck is hit by a light pole and he finds out why he is not happy about it. When they are both told to do community service for what happened neither are pleased by the fact that they will have to work together to decorate the town Christmas Tree but the judges decision is final then things between them start to change with the more time that they spend together but will a little Christmas Magic make them see what is right in front of them as even though they are the total opposite of each other in every single way what they have is something very special. I really enjoyed reading this book as it was such a magical story and I couldn't put it down as it was so good with great characters and storyline and I can't wait to read more book's by this author in the future.

What happened to the raccoon? I read the first chapter of the book and that was enough for me. The woman swerves to avoid a raccoon but pleads guilty to texting while driving since she glanced at a message on her phone minutes before, no mention of said raccoon. That's after she gets yelled at by the guy who's truck gets destroyed by the poll she hits. He runs out of the cafe, jumps to conclusions and screams at her without evening stopping to hear an explanation then get arrested himself for not having insurance (not sure I understand that either since he wasn't even in the truck so what did it matter if he had insurance or not? the truck was parked and he wasn't actually driving it). Anyways, they both plead guilty and get sentenced to decorating the town christmas tree. ?Maybe a little more thought could have gone into this setup. DNF at the end of chapter 1.

Not only was this a good book, it had so much charm and humor to boot!!

Sadie and Colt meet in the worst way when she crashes and damaged his car beyond repair then thanks to a bit of a sneaky judge they their sentence is decorating the towns Christmas tree for community service. Through this there are harsh words said, attraction sparked as well as emotions thought buried that rise to the surface, new friendships as well as new beginnings, but there is also theft and dirty dealings to uncover.
This was a great book with characters you love as well as a few you dislike, some great moments that have you laughing out load and a town I can't wait to get to know more about with the next book which the teaser has me dying to see what happens!!!.

Allyson Charles is my go to author when I want to read a holiday romance. Here we have Sadie and Colt working together to decorate the town Christmas tree. Well, more like community service issued by the the wonderful town judge. At first they are bickering and one upping each other. She did damage his truck accidentally. But the more they are together, the more the love bug starts to work on them. I loved reading the changes in both Sadie and the grumpy (at first) Colt. The is a sweet, sassy and heartwarming feel-good story that a love to read during the Christmas season and I breezed right through it. What fun!

This is the 2nd book in this series, and this is Colt and Sadie’s story. Sadie was only supposed to be in town for 1-day, she did not consider doing community service decorating the towns jinxed Christmas tree. Colt is not happy with the community service either working along side the girl who wrecked his truck. This is a well written magical gen of a story, which has humor, witty banter, and is a sweet and entertaining page turner.

4 Stars! This book was very charming, and grabbed me the further into the book I read. At the beginning I thought both the hero and the heroine were a little over-the-top with their reactions, but once I learned why they acted the way they did? Totally bought into the entire, tinsel-covered love story! The town is charming and the inhabitants interesting. I love Romantic Comedy, and this book sure felt like one. I'll look for more from this author!

The judge orders them to decorate the town christmas tree during a week of community service. At first the couple is bickering, but soon that changes. But Sadie is only in town to sell her grandmothers house. Do they have a future?

This was a cute whirlwind romance between two strangers forced together. I love the town and found it charming as it put Sadie and Colt together through their community service sentences. I think the timeline was a little unrealistic but it was great that the book even poked a little fun at that compressed timeline at the end. The whole town is a character and I look forward to reading more about its citizens as the series grows.

Cute little story about forced proximity romances in a small town. I enjoyed the banter and the growth the characters faced. I may be mistaken but the ending is just too much too fast for me... it makes hallmark look normal. But it was a cute story with some dramatic parts to switch things up.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I like the judge's way of solving cases brought in front of him. The community service brings Sadie and Colt together enough for their bad beginning to be forgiven and for them to fall in love. Along the way several problems that they face together and separately are solved.

Great read
I enjoy small town stories and all the characters that go with them. Allyson Charles does a wonderful job of creating a great story that has fun H/h and makes you look forward to the next in the series.
