Spinning off from the two #1 bestselling Amazon series—Carolina Bad Boys and Bad Boys of Retribution MC, headliners in Erotica Humor, Thrillers, and Suspense—come more deliciously dangerous, scandalously sexy stories, a whole new level of hotness starting with Walker.

Explosives are Walker’s specialty, but he’s never handled anything as combustible as his enemy, Jade Huntington.

WALKER
Goddammit. All I want to do is blow shit up. Is that too much to ask? But, no. What I get is mission frigging impossible in the middle of a Beirut hotbed. I’m the renegade of Operation T-Zone, but this time I swear I’m gonna do things by the book. That is, until Jade Huntington’s involvement in my op causes a brand new snafu.

My tribal name means desperate warrior, and that’s exactly what I am for reasons I can’t outrun. And Jade? She’s personal enemy number one. An incredibly sexy one at that. But she’ll never find out just how desperate I am for her.

JADE
I’m not an assassin, even though I am badass. I’m a protector. Except when it comes to Walker. What I wouldn’t give to bore a bullet through his stubborn skull. We’ve been at each other’s throats for years, this time I’m determined to leave him in the dust after I shoot a few holes in him.

We’re forced to work together when Walker practically kidnaps me and my package: the woman I’m guarding, the target he’s assigned to take out.

Days on the run. Nights of enforced closeness. Fighting side by side. Ever-present danger ignites a desire I can’t control. But the endgame is so perilous Walker and I might not make it out alive.

Four X-Ops alpha men. Four feisty wicked women. Four books you’ll want to sink your teeth into. Bad Boys of X-Ops.

This is my favorite kind of book. Suspense Thriller Romance offering sexy badass men and badass women. What more could you want in a book?

Yes! This book is super hot. Sexual tension is off the charts. Loads of sexy, steamy passion and hot sex. Plus loads of military action to spice up the read too. Yummmm

Definitely grabbing more in this series!!

Throw two assassins together who have always been at each other’s throats and tried to ruin the others ops; and what do you get? A sexually tense and full-on battle between the two along with all the agencies gunning for them.
I might be in the minority here but I did not find this book to be all that satisfying. The synopsis promises a haters-to-lovers romance pushed to the extreme, dark ops missions, and whole boatload of badassery. The enemies to lovers was pretty spot on as they are always fighting and I mean that physically and verbally which never ends. Once they established that they needed to work together to get to the bottom of who screwed up the Intel it seemed Walker would pick a fight with Jade for no reason; about the same thing over and over again to the point it was kind of ridiculous.
As it is my understanding that this is a spinoff from her other two series which I find both pretty awesome and hard to follow. Some characters you just cannot let go of which happens to the rest of us and you want to know more of. In this book when Walker is at the bar that was the center of Rie Warren’s last two series, so most if not all of the characters were there. It was confusing because it had too much going on alongside all the drama of the book. Her previous characters do seem entertaining and if a reader was curious enough they could venture into her other series.
Lastly, when reading a book whether good or bad I appreciate consistency. There have been times when reading along this book and it didn’t make sense or I could have sworn I read something different before; then have to go back to make sure I read it right. It can be small but sometimes it is in the details that make the book, especially when describing how someone feels or acts. Like one sentence Jade is riding behind Walker; two sentences later Walker is holding her tight with no mention of change in between.
As I have said I am probably in minority of not totally loving this book and nitpicking a lot of it. Military romances are few of the genres that I totally adore and Walker had great potential but sadly was a letdown. I am hoping that the next books are better since I could not connect with Jade or Walker.
I was gifted a copy of this book from the JeepDiva in exchange for an honest review. The opinions and ratings are my own and I was in no way compensated.

Rie definitely knows how to write bad boys!

I started with Carolina Bad Boys, moved onto Bad Boys of Retribution MC, and now Rie has outdone herself again with Bad Boys of X-Ops. I love how the characters I've come to love in previous books always make little appearances here and there.

Walker is one badass who likes to makes things go boom. He's an explosives expert, which is what lands him front and center on his latest op. An op that doesn't exactly go as planned, and causes all hell to break loose.

Jade is Walker's equal in so many ways. She's lethal, passionate, and determined, not to mention a little headstrong and smart-mouthed.

"Kiss me goodnight and shut up."

They've fought on different sides and against each other several times before, but nothing like this time. This time they'll be forced to work together, even if it is for different reasons. In Walker fights will be fought, knives will be thrown, and things will definitely go boom. It's full of action, sexual tension, and fierce passion with a little heart thrown in.

And where Justice is when this book ends...I cannot wait to read his story.

My Favorite Moment: Fuck or Fight. It was a simple ultimatum. The results had me glued to the pages!

My Favorite Laughable Moment: Nothing like a little helicopter ingenuity.

"Autopilot?"

"Jerry-rigged autopilot." His smug smile did not put me at ease.

"I do not want to know."

"Probably not, but it involves a selfie stick and duct tape and --"

"La la la...I can't hear you."

Is there anything better than a hot-ass bad boy soldier with a good soul? Perfection!!

In a world where his job doesn't exist, blacker than black ops explosives expert Walker happily stays in his no-attachments, emotionless bubble…until he tangles with his adversary, British special ops phenom Jade Huntington. The two of them are on the run with a middle eastern princess, with agents from a dozen countries trying to track them down. Something smells rotten to Walker, and he's determined to get to the bottom of it before the woman he wants and the woman he wants to protect bite the dust.

Oh, Ms. Warren, how you slay me with your fabulous characters and insanely erotic sex scenes! I loved Walker in the Bad Boys of Retribution series (seriously, go get it NOW, along with the Carolina Bad Boys series from which all this deliciousness stems), and was stoked to find out I would get his story next. So welcome to this new spinoff series, Bad Boys of X-Ops! I'm obsessed with Ms. Warren's style of writing…she's so brilliant at capturing that uncensored male POV, whether it be about a woman's tits or their own junk, every line is funny and irreverent and often raunchy as hell. This story was both dark and loving, with killing and earth-shattering sex, bombs and orgasms, covert ops and cunnilingus…every word was just fabulous!!

The covert ops setting was a little different for this group of books, but it was as good as, if not better than, some of the other books I've read in the Bad Boys series, though that's not saying much because I'm a squealing fan girl of all of them! If you're a fan of wicked, smart humor, dirty raunchy sex scenes and a HEA that isn't easy to come by, pick WALKER up and delve right into Ms. Warren's wild wild world of bad boys and the women who love them!

Bottom Line: WALKER is sooooo good, y'all! I recommend enjoying behind a locked door with a bottle of wine and a spare set of batteries! - See more at: http://erotic.theromancereviews.com/v...

Walker (Bad Boys of X-Ops #1)
Rie Warren
4 stars

I loved Carolina Bad Boys and Bad Boys of Retribution MC so I dove into this one with guns blazing. I did love the fact that we see cameos from previous books but it was a hard read for me in terms of really getting into the book. I loved Walker but I think the plot was a little too much for me.

Walker goes in, gets things done and blows things up. He is a bad bad man in a good way. However this assignment has him on edge. Something is wrong. He feels it in his gut. And just when he thinks maybe he is wrong all everything he is feeling blows up straight in his face. (Sidenote: He is amazing – love his character).

Jade – she is the enemy but Walker’s equal just in the female form. There has never been more hate for another person than Jade and Walker. She is infuriating to him and he is a stone cold bastard to her. Fighting against each other is what they do … until they don’t. (Sidenote: eh .. not a fan of her character).

I think what was hard for me to read was that the mission was not my cup of tea nor was Jade’s character. Its odd because I love a hard ass female lead but this was an all new level and I felt like she was too much. Or maybe I wanted for Walker to be in charge all the time – I don’t know. I cant really put it into words. She was just too edgy for me. I wanted to punch her at times .. LOL!

I am interested to find out what happens to Justice .. Lord have mercy. His book is coming out next. Im not passing on the series by any means and I love Rie’s work but I think Jade just turned me away from this book. I would never blame my men from Rie Warren. HA!

Click it up and see what you think. Looking forward to the next release and more from our guys from all the books! Thank you for the ARC Rie. Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

Nothing like an international terrorist incident, being on the run, living in close quarters with someone you've always considered to be your adversary, with whom you share mutual hatred, to be the basis for a passion-filled, fast-paced adventure. Enter guns and knives Walker and just as deadly Jade...these two were all kinds of wrong, but oh, so right for each other.

Rie Warren's first book in the X-Ops series has everything you could possibly want in romantic suspense series...Walker and Jade burn up the pages and the sheets...they are hot and dirty in every sense of the words. Eventually they share their hurt and pain and come to trust in each other. Get ready for the ride, there are some twisty turns and some OMG moments, but if this book is the indication of how this series is going to go it will definitely be on my "to be read again" list.

PS...nice to see the brief appearance from the guys in the Retribution MC !

Walker is apart of a group Operation T-Zone, it's not special or black op they are much darker than that. He has a great group of bad ass guys around him. Walker is their Infiltrator.
Rie knows how to write bad boys and she also know how to write strong female character. Jade is an assassin kick ass, smart mouth and strong will.
Walker and Jade have a love hate relationship but they are sexually attracted to each other even though they don't want to be.
The bickering, the bantering, sexually frustrated is a great lead up to their fuck scene. They have decided they are either going to fuck or fight. So they do both.
After the great build up, yay they finally get over themselves and fuck I felt it drag on way too long. Everything after this moment was about how many times they could do it and not much else.
I still enjoyed it and can't wait for Justice story!

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, suspense, twists & turns, passion, sexual tension, explosive action, and heartbreak.

This is Jade and Walker’s story. Forced to work together but on opposed sides will have an explosive outcome. Walker kidnaps Jade and the person she is supposed to protect. Loads of action packed explosive passion. Even in the most desperate moments a little humor goes a long way. Can these two protect each other from all the fighting going on around them before they are caught in the crossfires? Or will they make sure to go out in an explosive fight?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

Another riveting story from Rie Warren that had me glued to the pages. She starts you off laughing while clutching tight to your tablet in anticipation, then leads you to holding your breath in hopes they can get away only to heat things up between the sheets. Then she melts your heart and brings you to tears before she wraps you with yet another blanket of fear and anger and brings it all together to end it brilliantly. The X-Ops cast will burrow their way into your hearts and never leave, but believe me you won't want them too. I highly recommend this book to all my followers and I advise you to get your copy now before the next book is released on April 25th!

Explosives are Walker’s specialty, but he’s never handled anything as combustible as his enemy, Jade Huntington.

Lots of fear, panic, terror even, love and hate in this book. And above all lots of fun!
Walker is action-packed, flawlessly written, full of twists and turns, and thick suspense.

The story of Walker, gorgeous native American, and his buddies, all X-Ops alpha men, against a Grade A douche material, a slimy motherfucker blaming his ongoing shady terrorist activities on his wife…

I really enjoyed reading this first installment in the Bad Boys of X-Ops series.

This book has a lot of first for me, first from the author, (although that handler-Mr. X that they mentioned towards the last chapters of the book was eerily familiar), first Native American hero and definitely the first of the many books that I’ll read from the author and the series.

The first few chapters where a bit difficult for me because of the acronyms, some slang and some of the other words used but after the initial difficulty and some getting used to the story just kinda flows to you. Walker has a good sense of humor and I actually had a good laugh with some of it, but underneath his humor is some serious pain and hurt. And I also loved Storm, Justice and I am especially curios about Bane.

I hate to say this but I felt madge more in this story compared to jade, but that doesn’t diminish the quality of the story. There’s action, humor, angst, passion, sizzle (YUM!!) and depth to the story, what more could a reader want? Read it! And be hooked like me 

I stumbled onto the series by actually downloading book 3, which was for free at the time, I liked that book and decided to get this book to see how it all got started. I pretty quickly realized that there is a pattern as to how the books unfold, the main characters hate/love each other, want to have sex, think about sex, talk about sex and then have long make out sessions while on the run. The whole X-Ops is very secondary and you only get a superficial look at it. The same held true for book 3. There were some aspects I liked about the book, who doesn't like a hot hero, but not enough that I want to follow the series any further. I definitely thought I would like it more.

Desperate Warrior

I have given this story 5 stars because it was as explosive in action, drama & military precision as anything I have ever read. Outstanding adventure, military jargon/lingo & the jokes & bantering back & forth between the characters was very realistic, like watching a movie.
Loved the comparisons to the James Bond movie titles.
This was an excellent romantic suspense with danger, violence, political views, smoking hot soldiers; but not for the faint of heart.

Heartbreakingly beautiful

Walker is an enigma all on his own. Real bad*ss with what he does. His back story was heartbreaking but his rebirth to a man that can love again was heartwarming. Jade is his equal in all things dangerous and bloody. The two of them a match made in heaven. Until an op goes bad and Walker saves Jade and the target. It’s a crazy ride until the end

Review:

This is a spin off series of Carolina Bad Boys and Bad Boys of Retribution MC. It is an action packed story full of high drama, terrorism, and erotic lustful acts.
Plot- Walker and Jade have been on opposite sides of quite a few operations, including this last one, but now they are working together to keep “the package” safe. Now that they are working together and trying to stay off the grid they are finding it harder to keep their hands off of one another. The chemistry is as explosive as the C-4 that Walker likes to carry around. You never know if Jade and Walker are going to kill each other or get the other into bed. The pacing is fast and furious as Walker and Jade go from place to place keeping the woman believed to be a terrorist safe until they can prove she is not the monster her husband is making her out to be. Exciting ending and characters that you want to believe in. Can’t wait for the next book Justice available in April 25, 2016.

KIM'S REVIEW
4 STARS

Rie Warren shot right to the top of my favorite author list with her Carolina Bad Boys series and her Bad Boys of Retribution series too. So it was with great excitement and anticipation that I began this newest series from this amazing author.
This promises to be another great source of laughs and sweet sexy, sexy times-along with plenty of nail biting action.
Walker intrigued me when he first appeared in one of this author's earlier books. Didn't get much from him because he was always so silent and withdrawn. However, his tough as nails attitude made me want to know more.
And I think I've found a new BBF.
Walker is so much more than a tough black-ops soldier. He has a heart and a soul as well as an unhealthy love for blowing things up. And a potty mouth that my mother would have made him suck on a bar of soap for.
For a minute I wondered if perhaps this author gave Walker too much heart. But just when I thought he was going soft...BAM! The tough, "Don't Mess With Me Or I'll Kick Your Ass, Walker", would stomp all over the pages.
Walker also has a heartbreaking story. One that will make you shed a tear.
In the reading of this book I found a new adoration for strong females.
Jade! Holy Shite Jade!
Strong women always make the reading of a book more enjoyable for me but Jade was just over the top strong as well as fierce.
But anyone else wouldn't have been able to handle Walker.
I also fell a little for Madge and her loyalty to friends.
This is going to be an amazing new series that'll make our e-readers smoke. And I can't wait for more.

KATHRYN'S REVIEW
4 STARS

This is a full on military/romantic suspense book. This was my first time reading Rie Warren, and it wont be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed this book I couldn't put it down, it's was well written and kept me enthralled right from the start. This book is full of action and starts right from the get go. Daring maneuvers, knives, explosions, and guns all make an appearance in this book.

Walker is a bad-ass, explosives expert, which is what puts Jade in his path. Jade is just as lethal as walker, as well as being stubborn, passionate and has an answer for everything.
They usually fight on opposite sides, this time they are forced to aid each other. Their relationship is full of tension, passion and heat. They are adversaries turned lovers, who both have pasts that haunt them.

This book is full of romance, suspense, action, angst and love scenes that are seriously hot with a bit of kink thrown in as well. Parts of this book had me laughing out loud but the emotions it drew out, also had me close to tears at times. I can't wait for more of this series. This book includes several cameo appearances of characters who have appeared in books of their own. This book has made me want to read these stories as well.

As much as I love Warren's writing, it took me a while to get into Walker. Not because of the writing or the characters, but rather because I haven't been in the mood for a military romance. Despite the fact that Walker has never been in the military or that the “crew” isn't military based, they're ultimately a special ops team and that gives the book a military romance feel. With that said, Warren's writing and the cast of characters she has created for this series eventually pulled me in (once I got over myself) and I found myself flying through the book as the action, romance, and hot as heck sex kept me glued to my Kindle.

As I didn't finish the Bad Boys of Retribution MC series, this was my first introduction to Walker (at least I believe it was), and thanks to a failed terrorist attack, it went off with a bang. Even though he's not military, Walker has a boss he has to answer to, but he cottons on quickly that things are not as they seem and his target soon becomes an asset to protect, just as his nemesis becomes his partner. Fortunately for the reader, his nemesis is a badass in her own right and they become partners in more than one way. And it is hot!!! Warren does a great job of tempering the fast-paced, action-packed mission scenes with the developing romance. Having a front-row seat to Walker dealing with his past was heartbreaking, but it was a relief to learn that he was the one piling on the blame. The final showdown was intense. I couldn't read fast enough to find out who was going to make it out alive and who wasn't going to make it out at all.

I really enjoyed Walker. I could feel the sexual tension between Walker and Jade, and I could feel it intensify during and after skirmishes, just as would be expected with the adrenaline rushes that accompanied fighting for their lives. Because of this, I appreciated that the author timed the sex scenes as she did. While it was amusing (and effective) that Walker was able to shut Jade up with a kiss, I was relieved that those heated kisses didn't tip over into more when the bullets were literally flying. And yes, I have actually read books where that has happened. Walker was a great way to start of the Bad Boys of X-Ops series and can easily be enjoyed by those new to Warren’s writing without having to read either of the related series. That said, I really need to find some time to finish the Bad Boys of Retribution MC series just so I’m all caught up on the action. But until then, I’m off to read Justice.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

World Building: This novel takes place all over the world! There is a brief pit stop in Mt. Pleasant, but the majority of the story took place in Beirut, South Dakota and towards the end in Wyoming.
Characters: The main characters in this story are Walker and Jade. Walker is running. He’s been running for the last 5 years and he doesn’t have any plans to stop until Jade busts into his life, and screws up his mission, yet again. All he wants to do whenever he sees Jade is to strangle her but at the same time, kiss the hell out of her just to shut her up. They’ve been enemies for years, always doing the same op but on different sides of field. Can they come together this one and only time to save a woman’s life? Or will their antagonism for each other get in the way of their mission? Jade has always wanted to put a bullet between Walker’s eyes but can never seem to bring herself to actually do it. When Walker comes cocking up another one of her missions, fury rises swift and sure in the form of an epic ass whooping but he seems to be the only one who might believe in Jade’s charge’s innocence. Being in close quarters and on the run starts blurring the line between love and hate until till there is nothing left to do but to face the truth. Can Jade trust him to keep his word and help her out of this mess all the while secretly hoping he won’t break her heart?
Plot: This was so different from the Carolina Bad Boys Universe that I’m used to! I was expecting the Mt. Pleasant boys to be a more central part of the story but this was all about Walker and his boys and special ops his life. I loved that it was different even though, fighting the bad guys was still and underlining theme that seems to be present in most of Rie Warren’s novels.
Writing: This novel was told in first person point of view of Walker. I freaking love that Rie Warren novels are always told from the guy’s point of view but it also kills me because she always writes these kick ass female characters and we never get to read their side of the story!
Curb Appeal: The cover is amazing! I love the colors and it just really embodies all who Walker is. The blurb totally sums up the book and leaves out a lot of great surprises for the reader to find!
Ultimately: This was a fantastic novel that reminds me yet again what a great writer Rie Warren is! The reader gets to see a whole other side to the explosively sexy Mr. Walker and what an amazing back story he has, along with how deep of a person he actually is! All in all, if you are in the mood for a hero will always go after his woman and a heroine that gives just as good as she can take then come check out Walker!!!!!

Review:
“‘I’m exhausted. You exhaust me.’ She dug her toes into my calve muscles. ‘And I make you feel good doing it.’ I grabbed a handful of her a. ‘Kiss me goodnight and shut up.’”

5 tribal stars!! Hot, sexy, and suspenseful!!!

When I started this book I was sucked in. And then the minute Walker stepped into the book, I couldn’t put it down! I loved this book so much more than I thought that I would! It’s suspenseful and so dmn sexy!! Jade and Walker together are explosive and panty melting!! I loved this start to the series, and I can’t wait to see what comes next!

**Josie's Review 4.5 STARS**

Ok, first let’s take a moment a praise the creator of that magnificent cover, ok – ok I mean the model!!! Who wouldn’t want to click on a cover as hot as that? I am huge fan of Rie Warren. I really love her unique writing style. She has this uncanny ability to suck me into her stories where I fall in love with her characters. Walker was more than I bargained for. The book itself is filled with humor, excitement, thrills, chills, a hot alpha male, a sassy and feisty female and some steamy sex – good lord those scenes were Hot- Hot – Hot.

I have been anxious to get Walker’s story since we were introduced to him in the Carolina Bad Boys of Retribution MC Series, and finally I’ve got my wish. Walker and his team of Bad Boys are part of Operation T-Zone, and let me tell you these boys are funny and dangerous. They take their jobs for the government seriously, but even when they are on a mission they still find time to be humorous while joking around. I swear I laughed so many times at their antics and lines. Walker loves to blow things up, that is his job, he is the explosive expert on these mission. Their latest mission should be easy, in and out, blow things up and get back home, but what Walker was not expecting was to see his nemesis and the woman that got his blood pumping.

Jade and Walker are so funny, their banter is like foreplay. I mean they really do have a love hate relationship thing going on. Jade and Walker are forced to work together and I was not sure if they would make it. Jade was my kind of woman, she was feisty as heck, she did not back down at all, she was tough as nails and did not take Walker’s demands lightly. Walker is the total package! He is alpha all the way. He wants Jade to listen to him and when she does not he shuts her up the only way he knows how.

Walker was a fantastic story. It was filled so much drama, action and suspense. I was hooked from the very first page. The added bonus was the complicated relationship between Walker and Jade. This book was hot and fill of some really exciting moments. I swear I thought I was in a movie theater at times. This was a great start to a series and I can’t wait to get the other Bad Boys of X-Ops books in the future. I am sure we will get more laughs, drama, action and hotness.

Walker, (Bad Boys of X-Ops 1), Rie Warren

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre:  romance

I enjoyed reading some of Rie’s Carolina novels, and was looking forward to this. I’ve decided though that in general the Military/Black ops type reads aren’t for me. I get kind of lost in all the talk about guns, explosives, and machinations of missions and rescues. Some people adore them – that's great of course, but for me they’re not really a genre that works. I’ve only read a few, and of course you need to be sure its not just one or two books that put you off a whole genre, but after getting lost – not in a good way – in this story I shall avoid this type of read in future.

Aside from my personal feelings about plot type Rie’s writing is spot on. Even though the plots were over my head much of the time I admire the tight way they're connected. The way one part leads on to two more, that in turn circle round and bring in other people, places and sub plots. I always am able to feel what type of character Rie is portraying from the way she makes them speak, so Walker you just know is one very cocky, confident Alpha male person. He’s not one to sit back on the side-lines, say nothing when he disagrees with a course of action, and as an Alpha male ladies are automatically under his protection, whether they think they need it or not! Its just who he is, his nature to protect those he sees as weaker. He isn’t the Grunt type though, is confident enough to appreciate and use their skills when needed, and to let them share in the risks.

The sexual tension between him and Jade simmers intensely right from the start, and you know when they get together its going to be incredibly intense. Those parts Rie writes so well, no squirmy “damp panties”, mealy mouthed, twee alluding to sex, the stuff that makes me roll my eyes, but a full on, incredibly sensual and explicit tension that jumps off the page it’s so hot.
I did feel at times the sex took over the story, whether that's just because this type of plot seems not to work for me or whether it really does dominate I’m not sure.

Stars: Three, great characters but the story didn’t really work for me.

✯✯4 Walker Sized Hearts!!!✯✯

I love opening up a Rie Warren book on my kindle. Walker was no different. I read all of Rie's Carolina Bad Boys and Retribution MC series.

If you've read the Retribution MC series you already know Walker likes to blow things up. Walker is darker black ops team. It's so special if they get caught they will go to jail bc the government will never admit this stuff is going on. Walker is sent on a new mission. A mission he's not looking forward too. And, that's saying something bc Walker's always up to look danger in the eye.

Except this mission doesn't turn out the way it was suppose to. He was suppose to be in and out. When he got there he ran into his worst nemesis Jade. She is Walker's match. Jade is bad ass, a fighter and is his equal. Except she works for the opposite team. These two have bumped heads for years. They hate each other with a passion. Walker would give anything to get Jade naked.

Walker's mission was to go in and kill. Except Jade's was to keep her asset alive. Walker and Jade soon realize things weren't right. Now, both them and Jade's asset Madge compliments of Walker lol. Now, they're on the run and trying to stay alive. Except their hiding spots keep getting leaked. Can Walker keep them alive? And, he's learning his initial info on Madge might not be 100%. While they wait Jade and Walker's relationship goes in a new direction. With them naked. And, they hold nothing back.

I fell in love with every book of Rie's so far. I had been waiting for Walker's book for so long now. But, this one didn't do the same to me as all the others did. I'm not sure if it was Jade. Or the fact we didn't get her POV. I feel if I had it then I would've liked her so much more. I loved everything about Walker. But, her.. I couldn't warm up to her. She was just too much. Like she went too far to prove she was bad ass. It got to be too extra at times. I did like Hunter was back and the rest of the Retribution guys. I can't wait for Justice next.

This is a sexy, exciting special ops adventure-romance. The first book in the series belongs to Walker, a native American demolitions expert and Jade, an assassin for British intelligence. The chemistry between the two is hot, the action is fast paced and this first book introduced an enjoyable, if not completely original, team of badass operatives charged with saving the world with their unique skill sets.

This is a first-person narrative told from Walker’s POV. It initially took me time to engage with the story as I really didn’t enjoy Walker’s crude, often misogynistic voice at the start. I warmed to Walker as he became a more developed character away from his team as the story progressed.

For me, I’m not sure Jade ever developed beyond Sexy-British-Assassin and while I enjoyed the banter and dialogue between Jade and Walker, I didn’t ever feel a proper connection to her character.

While I enjoyed some of the fast paced action and witty banter, it was actually the scenes where the action slowed and the layers of Walker’s character were revealed that I found most engaging. I loved learning more about his past and his family but I did get tired of the somewhat cliched action film dialogue at times.

I’ve been reading more m/m and less m/f recently because I really struggle with the portrayal of women in so many m/f romances. And this is no exception. Even though Jade is a fierce character, some of my least favourite tropes are trotted out. Jade becomes Walker’s possession. He wants to get her pregnant, keep her safe… Urgh. I never understand why women who start out as equals in m/f romance (Jade is a world class special ops assassin) always end up tucked safely away back at the ranch by the end of the story.

So. As a fun, action film style adventure with some hot sex scenes and a few tender moments, this works really well. I’m not sold on the gender politics in this book but I have already requested the second book in the series.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

So here are a few questions to ponder before I get into the meat and potatoes of the review.
1. Do you believe in second chances? 2. Do you think that two people who are supposed enemies focused on the same target can find common ground? 3. Can two people who are from completely different backgrounds, with completely different outlooks find a connection? These are a few thoughts to take in as you get ready to start reading my review and the book.

This story is definitely full of explosive content. At first I was not sure whether I was going to really like the story or not. It seemed in away to start off in an odd way for me. I mean we got the basis of the mission that Walker is going on and what he is more or less supposed to do, but it takes until almost the midway point in the story for me to finally get completely into the story. Now, do get me wrong, is it a book full of things happening yes. What I did not realize was that the beginning has a point and that it leads you up to the heart of the book and actually gives you an understanding of why Walker is the way and the danger taker that he is.

Now, the chemistry between him and Jade is beyond explosive. The way she takes no crap off of Walker is great. She gives as good as she gets and the way that she keeps him so twisted up he basically doesn't know whether he is coming or going. It is nice to see an alpha female hold her own with a male just as strong willed. She doesn't back down one bit, but for as hard as Jade is, she can be just as soft which I like the way that Rie Warren has written her.

This is a book full of action, suspense, and explosive romance. As I got more into the book, the more that I enjoyed it and could not wait to see the outcome of the overall resolution. I am looking forward to reading the next three books in the series to see where our Bad Boys end up next.

A fast paced, humorous, highly erotic, action packed read!

What do you get when you put a bad ass explosives specialist with a deadly British assassin...I'll tell you what you get, you get a whole lot of "boom boom"

A funny, fast paced, lotta sexy time read that at times left me wondering what was going on but in a good way. Good plot/character development. A great start to what I hope will be a great series. Would recommend.

I am looking forward to another great series from Rie !! I have to admit it took me a little bit to get into , mostly because of the mission and all the back and forth- I am easily confused LOL !! BUT once the sexual tension between Jade and Walker made itself known I was all in !! This was a suspenseful read and I was on the edge of my seat. I am still wondering who gave up their info each time and how that may play into the series ?? Maybe it won't but this is what these books do to me !! I am always thinking and doubting people and questioning motives.

We met Walker before in Hunter's book and he was a force to be reckon with. Now we get his story and find his connections and meet some new characters we will be getting to know in the series. Walker's mission gets all kinds of crazy messed up and he is thrown into a situation with someone from his past. Someone he would love to kill or screw - either or !! Jade is also on a mission and right about now Walker may be her only help. These two have no trust in each other but Jade and Madge manage to convince Walker or their part in it all and the three of them set off on their own wild ride to clear names and get justice for themselves. It is a wild ride - some touch and go scenes and even a bit of past heartache comes to light. I loved meeting Walker's family and seeing how he lived his life before. It was nice to seem him get back to his roots. This guy has been miserable and focussed on work for so many years. We also learn a bit about Jade and as Walker breaks down her walls we see a new Jade emerge !! Their chemistry is amazing and their heat was off the charts !! Panty melting , makes you blush , makes you wonder and I am sure people have been making lists of things to try after reading about them !!

I adore Rie Warren! I started out reading Carolina Bad Boys and then I read Bad Boys of Retribution MC. I hoped and waited for Walker to get his own story and I am so please that now not only he but a few others are getting stories with the Bad Boys of X-Ops! If you haven't read any of the aforementioned series let me give you a little background on Walker. He loves to make things go BOOM and has a natural talent for it. Even if it's his friend's truck. He is an explosives expert with an elite team and saying he's bad is putting it lightly.

A man like Walker needed a woman who could handle him in every way and in every area in his life. That is where Jade comes in and she could not be more perfect for Walker. She is his equal in every way. She is just as well trained as he is and has that little bit of lethal passion that he does. They have ought against one other over the years and even when they are trying to kill one another the sexual tension is there. Think Mr. and Mrs. Smith times a hundred!

As always Rie Warren brings characters to life that even when they aren't being very nice you can't help but love'em and follow'em though all of the madness. Walker and Jade could not have been more perfect for one another in every way and I was so thrilled he got such a strong woman. I can't for Justice because where he ends up is going to be HOT! In all of the good ways and probably some of the bad too!
