What follows is considered a novelette. Novelettes are like books without most of the boring parts and about twice as long as a short story. This story may contain some things you don’t like. There could be some violence and words like #$%! without all the funny characters. Consider yourself warned.
This review is from: Codename: Two of Spades (Blake, the Good Guy Book 2) (Kindle Edition)
How can you hate a book which begins, "DISCLAIMER: This is a work of non-fiction. The contents are completely true except for the parts where the narrator exaggerated or outright lied, and the parts where the author employed dramatic license. The rest though, all true."
In this one, five bad guys are trying to kill Blake. How do we know that they are bad guys? Because Blake is Blake the Good Guy! If you doubt this, most of the story is told from the points of view of the bad guys which leaves little doubt that they are truly bad guys. What we do not learn is why they have been hired to kill Blake. Wr do learn that the would be assassins are not very good at their job. Well maybe one is fairly good and another is not a complete incompetent. The other three? Unquestionably doofuses.
We also do not learn in this second volume of the Blake chronicles exactly what it is that Blake does. Whatever it is, he is very good at it.
