When new graduate Yuki Kashizawa moves to London for her PhD, she is certainly not expecting to be dragged into a mystery. At the Deverex Tower, an ultra-modern skyscraper and her new home, Yuki bumps into the extravagant Rupert Howards. He involves her in his personal investigation on the building’s former owner, Edwin Deverex, a brilliant scientist who vanished into thin ...more

Yuki and Aileen are the two characters you get to know the most about. Yuki is apparently very good at math and has a bit of a perfectionist complex. Aileen is confident but seems to be lost. Hexagon is interesting and is both complex and simple all at the same time. Judy, a young teenager, was the most vivid of the characters to me and gave Aileen more of a realistic feel. I liked most of the characters, except Yuki could be very contradicting sometimes.

The book tries way too hard

Sitting between science fiction and urban fantasy, this thriller dabbles in a bit of everything--holographic artificial intelligence, androids, superheroes, alien lifeforms--while not solving the central mystery to this novel. As the first in a series, perhaps this is to be expected. All of the major characters seem to have locked down their relationships to each other by the end of this opener.

The POVs alternate between two sets of characters drawn together by the same mystery: What happened to

I might be biased, but it is a good book.
I knew the plot of this book and series before there was any English translation. I liked it.
I was one of the first beta-readers when Nicola translated it. I liked it.
And then I've seen all the changes and polishing the book went through (in both languages), and I can honestly say: it is a good book, you might enjoy it too. If you like sci-fi, star trek, mystery stories, dynamic dialogues, smart lively characters, heroic adventures, surprises and revel

I think this book is good. I would not know the author's first language is not English. I think it was a good mystery and some superhero and classical sci-fi elements added it make it a fun read. I enjoyed the story and would look forward to the next book. * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*

The Fall of The Gods (Elynx Saga Book 1) by Nicola Bagalà requires a major suspension of disbelief to enter fully into the world the author has created. Visualizing the action as a movie may help; when I could do that, I found parts of the story to be quite fun, although I could never really take it seriously.

The writing, as far as the adherence to the rules and conventions of grammar and spelling of the English language, is quite good, perhaps more so as English is not the author's first langu

I was given the opportunity to read this book and I have to say it was a bit difficult to put it down. If i haven't have to read books for my studies, I would have read it in 2-3 days as the plot is well written. Some characters are interesting such as Ayleen, who is so mysterious, you just want to know more and more about her. Or about Yuki, a simple student and yet. We can read through this book the good knowledge of the author about some subjects, and to me, it's always a good thing.

This book is a nice mixture of superheroism, mystery, sci-fi, mythology and a hint of comedy. The story flows very naturally and it was an effortless read. The story consists of several characters and every chapter progresses all of their stories which become intertwined together. This type of storytelling can be difficult but the author succeeded in this very well, keeping my interest up throughout the journey. I found the mythological aspect of the story extremely intriguing but this book only ...more

I'm an all-purpose geek with a long-standing passion for writing. I was born and raised in Italy, but my inborn spirit of adventure brought me to Finland in 2007, where I currently live with my girlfriend (a video game programmer way nerdier than I). I have a MSc in mathematics, and I also studied physics and computer science at the University of Helsinki.

When I’m not too busy working or writing,
