Sissy's Romance Book Review
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
'Hot Mess' by Madeline A. Rosenberg is book one in the "Tragic Love" series.
This romance book story is of very young love and kind of remind me of my old school days were one day the hottest girl in our school was with one boy and then next day deep in a relationship with another boy. This story did keep you reading to see what was going to happen next. I would say this was a guilty pleasure read on how the young people seem to date and wha

Wow what a book. I am still shocked at how Hot Mess ended and I am trying best to come up with an awesome review for this awesome book. Written by Madeline Antonia Rosenberg, Hot Mess is a charming and enjoyable read about young love and the consequences of young love in todays society. This book was so special and it captivated me. Let me tell you, I devoured Hot Mess like I was on crack and I wanted to find out more and more. I was not disappointed at all and found myself actually thinking abo ...more

This story is a total teen after school special movie. I actually got hooked into the storyline. It hits the spot about what goes on in the minds of today's young adults. With the exception of the tragedy that happens among the characters. I cried my ass off visioning the outcome of such tragedy. I liked the story all together except for the ending. It left me with the thought of "wth?" The story does jump around a lot which being an avid reader I adjusted. Being a mom of four I totally get the ...more

Talk about a crazy Rollercoaster ride.........especially with Anna, this girl is wired differently. The ups and downs really are a great lead up to the ending. Great start to the series

Let’s begin with the cover artwork. We are met with a cover that does do justice to the book’s title. With clothes hanging all over the place, the one word description that comes to my mind is: “Mess. What a mess!” And if I allow myself the freedom to extend the book’s title to include the young lady, standing with her back to us, arms akimbo, I would anticipate that she is the cause of this book’s title being, H-O-T M-E-S-S.

And if you will permit me to keep playing word games, by exchanging the

Meet the awesome foursome from Clairetown. Anna McCormick got issues about her social media status (she's on the phone every minute checking her messages!) and had boys who adored her, but she still didn't trust her own judgment. Boyfriend material Trevor Sullivan might had been the guy for her but turned out, there was something else she wasn't aware about him. Benji Shaw was the the one guy every girl wanted to make out with while Tanya Rosen was the insecure ex. Each had issues on his own, an ...more

First of all I want to thank the author for sending me her book to read and review. I have to say that I didn't like this book but I don't want to focus on what I didn't enjoy, I prefer to tell what can be improved.
1) There are many characters. The main character is Anna, I hated her but that's positive. She is so well written that made me angry every time she took a bad decision, I felt for her while she was falling apart but hated how naive she was. I think th

Hot Mess is exactly that. Anna McCormick is what guys want...but she falls for one guy or think she has and can't let go of him...even when the worst happens. One bad thing happens after another. Madeline Antonia Rosenberg's YA novel is full of craziness, drama, and emotions flying everywhere. It's addictive, funny, and realistically captures the whole teenage life all in a hot bubble. There's another guy that wants Anna. He's sweet and she obviously feels something for him...but she won't let h ...more

With a title like " Hot Mess " it instantly grabbed my attention. With that title you can pretty much guess there will be some humor! There definitely is. Anna is the epitome of the term " Girl" She is what we all are but hate to admit. Looking for attention in the wrong places, overly dramatic, anxiety filled life.

As real a story as you will find. You won't want to put it down. The characters jump off the page and bring up the memories of those in your life just like them. I know I had several

Hot Mess is a fresh and contemporary book. This is the story of Anna McCormick, a misfit of sorts dealing with boys, fashion and mean girls. The story starts off in high school and leads into early adulthood.

Just as Anna thinks she can be happy with Trevor Sullivan, some tragic and shocking events happen. Benji Shaw, Trevor's friend and Anna's secret crush tries to help her deal with it, despite Anna's nemesis, Tanya Rosen trying to ruin things and make it worse for Anna.

I wasn’t really invested in this story because it was written in third person and I can’t find myself getting into it. Once I stuck it through, it was too juicy to put down. Some parts I was a little confused about, the past, present and the months earlier sections but if they weren’t in there, the story wouldn’t flow. All in all, it was an enjoyable read and I am really looking forward to the second book.

What can I say about Hot Mess without giving any spoilers? The full title is Hot Mess: Tragic Love Series (Book 1) so that should tell you something. There is a lot going on in this synopsis- it mentions many characters. They are mostly in their early twenties and a few in their late teens. It reads YA to me with no descriptive sexual content and some profanity. The book is not written in first person point of view, but instead goes back and forth between several main characters. This can be a l ...more

As a mother this book hit me pretty hard. This is the story of Anna and Trevor. They are both young and deal with the pressure of growing up in their own way. Trevor and Anna aren't the only characters in the book. You will meet several others. Each one deals with drama. Boys, drugs, drinking, sex. This book has it all.
Anna has issues. One of the issues is she doesn't know really what she wants. When she thinks one door closes, she is off to the

Oh wow... This book really surprises me in a good way.
At first I have a doubt, because I got it in audiobook and I've tried audiobook before and I think it's not my thing, so I'm afraid I won't like it. But I'm so totally wrong, I ended up loving this book.

Okay let's talk about this book.
This book is all about drama that revolves around Ana the drama queen, she's so obsessed with boys, so clingy, never listen to anyone, she's a girl with a lot of insecurities, everywhere she goes there's always

This was a teen/twenty something Netflix drama in one book.

This is a debut novel by this author and it was written in the third person POV. The book was based around four people and their dramas.

Anna is the girl that seems to constantly need a boyfriend and a drama, but she's got her own set of issues and always seems to be attached to her phone and likes attention.

Tanya is that beautiful popular girl, who also has her own issues to deal with and is jealous of Anna, just as much as Anna is jealo

Drama drama drama

This was my first book from this author. I found that there were parts of the story that were real and kept my interest. Other parts were pure immature drama by the main characters. The underlying relationship between Anna and Trevor was dysfunctional and bordered on obsession...but some relationships are like that. Not every relationship is perfect and bubblegum and rainbows. They intentionally hurt each other and tried to be the one to save the other. I applaud the author for

I really enjoyed reading this book Hot Mess by Madeline A. Rosenberg. It's the first book by the author and I will say I can't wait for what she comes up with next. This book was filled with drama, angst and even more drama and I loved it.

This book has four main characters: Anna, Benji, Trevor, and Tanya.
Hot Mess resolves around these four characters who are just finding out just who they are in the world. They all have some issues that they have to overcome in this story, we all know that nob

I went into Hot Mess with the expectation of a hilarious trip into my own disastrous dating past, relived through the eyes of our MC, Anna. This book didn't disappoint for entertainment, but the jumping back and forth in the timeline was jarring to read and hard to keep track of at times. From the first page, Anna and Trevor are well developed characters, very 90210-esque (Wow, dating myself much?) and that's part of the fun. I think perhaps if I had been younger I could have better related. I w ...more

This book just wasn't for me at all. I tried, I got about 25% of the way through it and I just couldn't go on anymore. The story was being narrated by too many characters all at once. It would change just about every paragraph. I started getting confused who was telling the story, and whose thoughts were whose. The chapters ended very abruptly without any kind of end. It felt like everything just rolled on but chapter numbers were just thrown in bwtween. It felt rushed and I couldn't connect wit ...more

Okay so this is the first book by this author, so I really had no idea what to expect. What I was thinking when I purchased this book is DEFINITELY not what I got. This book followed multiple people's POV, and with that all their problems. The issues within this story are real and believable, which I absolutely love. Being able to relate to a situation is needed for me to be able to get into the story.
Each character had some kind of past (or present) that they need to overcome. The question rem

I recieved this book from the Author for an Honest review. This story starts out giving you alittle insight to who Anna is and how she has grown from the young teenage girl to a Grown women.
Now the book was a quick read. but one thing I didn't like is the story jumped around alittle and the main character was kinda whine and spoiled.
I would read more from this author in the future.

I do love high school and college romances and dramas, and Hot Mess delivered. I liked Anna with all her insecurities, I thought she was very credible and I laughed at her mannerisms. Trevor was a bit harder to figure, he had a few issues but we didn't exactly find out why. Benji and Tanya were likable characters too. The story moved along at a good pace, though there was some repetition, but it came with a twist that I didn't see coming!

'Hot Mess' by Madeline A. Rosenberg is book one in the "Tragic Love" series.
This is my first book of the author and she don’t disappoint. I’m not a fan of third person read but I enjoy it very much. I love the plot but sometimes I was lost because of so much characters but I enjoy it. Is intriguing and messy and a must read for young readers.
