A Dictionary of Scripture Proper Names

Rate this book
Though Bible names are often left untranslated in Scripture, it is instructive and important for the modern Bible student to be aware of the meanings of these names. The Scriptures frequently attach profound importance to the literal meanings of these names and readers, after learning them, will be opened to new and deeper interpretations of familiar Bible passages.

In this remarkably useful handbook, Bible scholar J.B. Jackson has carefully compiled a comprehensive list of all the proper names of Scripture, along with a literal meaning derived from the original languages. From Aaron to Zuriel, this simple yet valuable resource will enrich your study of God's precious Word.

A must-have for any Theologian's bookshelf. It is simply a series of pages containing a list of names and their very brief definitions. Most notable among the Author's accomplishments is the preface where he states in humility that there are many thoughts and opinions related to names in the Bible and that this work is HIS understanding, but that he could very well be mistaken and is sure that there are equally as compelling arguments out there that would appear to contradict what he proposes.
