The two previous Blake the Good Guy stories while containing their share of violence are lighter in tone than this one. Codename Three of Spades is much darker with quite unpleasant violence and secrets in a small town which Blake was merely passing through. People really ought to just leave Blake alone.

Scenes out of the old West. Lord a'mercy! There's definitely a new sheriff in town - for the day, and he means business with a capital B. You don't have to watch out for PETA anymore, Blake is on the job! More than what he surely expected, but all in a day's work. Good job. 🐎
