An Illustrated Guide to Rifles and Sub-Machine Guns is a broad-brush thumbnail sketch of 43 modern rifles and 35 sub-machine gun types used over the years up to the publication date in 1981. Some of the information given is a little confusing, and possibly wrong, but it does give an interesting, if biased summary of the types reported.
