I got this from our library and my husband and I enjoyed reading it together this evening.
As with most Answers in Genesis books, I found it a little lighter on the academic side than my personal preference (I'm usually more of an Institute for Creation Research type). However, This beautiful book is a great starter book for explaining how a real Noah's Ark could have worked and worked well.
It did really want me to go and see the Ark Encounter through and revisit the creation museum.

A quick and accessible study of Noah's ark. Really helpful for teaching purposes, but also just fascinating for anyone with logical questions about the biblical story. The authors do a good job of not assuming too much from the text. I like that they make a point of crediting these ancient people with intelligence: God assumed Noah would use his skills.
Chapter seven is basically a repeat of ideas from earlier chapters, and overall I would have preferred more detail. But it's a neat book for what it is.
This is a much shorter, layman's version of Noah's Ark: A Feasibility Study, which I think I read years back, when I was far too young for it.
To go along with this, I'm next reading Ark Signs: That Teach a Flood of Answers, which is simply a collected book of signs from the ark exhibit.

This book talked about what the scientists and researchers at the Ark Encounter think Noah's Ark would've been like. They explored various options for how the ark could've functioned within the specifications given in the Bible. They believe that mankind was technologically advanced, but they kept the technologies that they used as simple as possible. The book is highly illustrated with clear diagrams, illustrations, and pictures of the various features.

They covered topics like: what is an animal kind and how many animals would've been on the ark, how big those animals were, how much floor space was in the ark, how much food and water would have been needed, how water could be collected during the year they were on the ark, how would the food and water be stored and later provided to the animals, how would the cages be cleaned, how information and technology might have been preserved for after the Flood, how might the ventilation system and lighting work. Though a technical subject, this was written at a level that anyone should be able to understand, including teenagers. Overall, I'd highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the topic.

The authors, very Biblically based, worked hard to create believable possibilities for the dimensions, supply, and cleaning systems Noah' and his family would have included on an ark of majestic proportions. The book supplements information found at the Noah's Ark site in Kentucky. I feel it would have been better done if they avoided the dinosaur issue.

We visited the ark and I was fascinated by the possible technology that was displayed. This book brings back lots of memories of our visit. I am so glad we made the effort to visit it and then buy the book.

I have an Ark I play with when I am in the bathtub, it works just fine. Of course it would work larger scale!

I work at the Ark encounter and can tell you as a scientist and educator that Noah's Ark is a true story.
