From the author of the bestselling I Love You Night and Day comes a gorgeous rhymed celebration of love, family, and lots of kisses, now perfectly packaged as a padded board book.
Every day has its ups and downs Sometimes you giggle, sometimes you frown. But the thing to remember, the secret, is this . . . Everything feels better with the help of a KISS.

For every time of day there's a kiss to go with it, and whether you're big or small, young or old, it always makes you feel better. So the next time you see someone you love, just remember . . . a kiss is the very best gift of all!
A tender expression of love, Kiss It Better is the perfect gift for every parent and child who love Nancy Tillman and Marianne Richmond.

Christmas Reading Challenge 3 - this book has bears as its characters and talks about how just a kiss or an act of kindness from your paternal relatives can change everything. It is a very warming story, and would be lovely for a child at bedtime.
Fairly schmaltzy. It would be a justifiable question to ask if the world really needs another book about how nice it is to love someone starring teddy bears, but if such a book were needed this one isn't terrible. I do appreciate that it mentions that grown-ups also need kisses. The title is a bit cringeworthy.
I love this novel and this bond that it shows between a mother and her children. This is a very special bond that until you become a mother, yourself, you can never fully understand. I know that I was close to my mother, but now that I am one, I know that depths my mother went through to make sure that my siblings and I were okay.
I have enjoyed this novel with my children from the beginning until the end, it was very well written and I felt like everyone was satisfied by the way things were done. My five year-old is very bright for his age and will usually tell me if something just doesn't make since to him; however, he found this novel enjoyable and could compare it to the many times I have to kiss away his own problems.
The story is told so beautifully. The illustrations are soft and warm which emphasizes the mood of the story. The book is not culturally relevant per se since the characters are bears and the setting takes place in the forest. The message behind the characters is what children can relate to. Overall, the theme is very appropriate for young children.
It would be much more universal if the author had been willing to tweak the idiom to make it "hug it better." I'd be able to share that with my adult sons. But I've not gotten kisses from any of them since they were little. Also, you can hug classmates & friends in many more contexts & cultures than you can kiss them.
A heartwarming book with lovely illustrations. The book tells us that everything can be made better with a kiss, which can be a nice reminder on how to comfort others when they look like they need it.
My guess is this was a picture book before it was a board book. Either format will reach a happily receptive audience, providing lots of prompts to share kisses along the way.
The illustrations and sentiment are nice. However, one of my cute quirks is that I find the thought of most kissing revolting, so I can only give this one three stars.
A story about how there are kisses for all occassions; when you're hurt or when you're sick, or when you're scared or trying to say sorry. It's a story of how affection and love can fix most problems when you're young, and encourages a child to be tactile. Lovely illustrations of the teddy bear family sharing kisses for every possible situation are shown throughout. A really charming story perfect to be read to a child who's a little upset and in need of a kiss themselves!
