Kathryn's Pride

Rate this book
Kathryn Boucher's father Maynard has just lost the family business in a poker game with Kevin Thibodaux's brother in this historical novella. She finds out when fishing fleet owner Kevin arrives on her doorstep to let her know that not only does she not own the Boucher Shrimp cannery, her father and his brother died when the boat they were in capsized in a storm.

Now Kevin owns the cannery, and he wants to keep it so he can turn it around. Through Kathryn's father's mismanagement, the cannery had been failing and was on the verge of bankruptcy. However, once he sees that the Boucher women don't have any means to support themselves, his Christian faith takes over, and he offers the business back to them as long as they allow him to bring it back to being profitable.

Her pride gets in the way, and she refuses. Is it possible for these two strong-willed businesspeople to find a way to work things out? Will they be able to set their pride aside and let the sparks ignite the fire that burns between them?
