I had this book of short inspirational entries in my bathroom. I tried to read one a day and implement the ideas throughout the day. Things like being mindful of our words, or a meditation to try. I have to admit to being a pretty lazy spiritual practitioner, though. I have a mind to start at the beginning of this wonderfully thought provoking book again. At the same time, I'd like to lend it to friends... What to do? Share the wealth or develop the wealth?
This was the book I chose to use on a daily basis to provide me spiritual uplifting through the year 2017. I can’t say enough about about how much I loved my selection. I would read the daily passage and then journal, I found the whole process so enriching. Happy New Year All!
DailyOM is a refreshing and versatile read. What I love most is the wide variety of topics Madisyn covers. She offers insight into living with more joy, fulfillment, and positivity. She has such a grounded wisdom, often weaving in nature as a reminder of how we’re connected to the world around us.
The chapters are short (about two pages each), which makes this book so approachable. I can open it to any section, spend just a few minutes reading, and walk away with something meaningful to carry into my day. It’s packed with bite-sized lessons that add up.
This is a book I’ll keep nearby to return to again and again.
Taylor's book is that little nudge I need when I'm filled with doubt to shift perspectives and start being a bit more positive. It encourages the good from within to show compassion towards my insecurities instead of pushing them away or trying to "battle" them. A comforting, easy to read series that could inspire empathy on every shelf.
I liked the author's idea of having short inspirational thoughts, but they all had similar messages - practice self-love by journaling and meditating and radiate love to others through forgiveness and acts of kindness.
If you join the author's email list, you will receive one of these inspirational thoughts every day.
Overall, easy to read and I enjoyed reading. One essay takes only 2 page max, and it takes about 2-3 min per essay. Some were quite good and spot on to my current situation, and some were not. Borrowed from the local library.
This is the second time I’ve read this book. This year I read a chapter a day as part of my spiritual practice. Highly recommended. A truly inspiring read
I have read this and do continue to read and refer to this book almost every day. It is one of the most inspirational books I have ever read without being preachy at all. It is just so calming and sometimes incredibly intuitive.
Sometimes I close my eyes and pick a page or pick a number in my head and that's the reading I turn to. Other times, I will read the index until I find what I'm searching for.
I subscribe to the email version of The Daily Om and prefer that format over the book. In book form the topics become jumbled, and unless you read it straight through, you forget which articles you've already read.
It is simply brilliant. Its like one of the books that change your life and perspective.
The language she uses is simple and brilliant and even though I'm like turning 16 this year,I find it extremely simple to relate to and its just magnificent.
