Oh lordy. If you’ve ever liked a cowboy, wanted to like a cowboy, or even if you hate cowboys, you will love this book. I was drawn in one page one and already swooning on page two. No joke.

I also completely blame Lynnette Austin for the 35 new "Hot Cowboy" Pinterest boards I started following after reading this book.

I’ll be honest, I don’t always like romance novels. Why? Because so many of them are cheesy or unbelievable. Lynnette has this realistic, descriptive, and imaginative way of writin

The synopsis drew me in and although the book was okay, it wasn’t great. While reading, I felt like I was playing an endless game of red light/green light; you know three steps forward, two steps back. At one point I wasn’t sure I was going to get through it, but because I wanted to know what happened to a minor character in the book, I kept reading. I’m also beginning to think I need to stay away from books set in Texas because I’ll a

"Somebody Like You" by Lynnette Austin was a beautifully told story of "When a Cowboy Meets

Lynnette Austin gives her readers a cute opposite attracts romance with Somebody Like You. I'm not a big fan of insta-love, however these guys were more insta-lust than love really.

HOT IN TEXAS!
From the moment Cash Hardeman lays eyes on Annelise Montjoy as she rides her Harley into Maverick Junction, TX, the temperature spikes. Through a blend of sexual tension, humor, and secrets neither dares reveal to the other, Cash and Annie's conflicts go way beyond city vs. country. He's on a ticking-time-bomb mandate to marry before his fast-approaching thirtieth birthday...or lose the ranch he loves. She's on a quest to find the only woman who can save her grandfather's life.

I feel like I have been in Maverick Junction. The author has taken descriptive to a new level. You feel like you are with the characters while they are eating cookies, riding the range, at 4th of July parties and begging for a DNA sample for a Bone marrow transplant. The characters are an eastern heiress and a cowboy. This was a very enjoyable read.

Another great book by this author. I absolutely loved this. With a biker debutant and a high flying cowboy cross path, sparks start to fly. Add a snoring dog and small town living, you get mix that will make you smile a little and want to know what next is coming. Hope to enjoy many more of this authors books.

Whew. This cowboy romance was something else! Absolutely delightful story, with well-rounded characters who immediately drew me in, Somebody Like You kept me reading late into the night. Cash and Annie had fantastic chemistry, and I loved their stubbornness and pride. The push-pull tension these two carried made for some such a fun and entertaining read.

Somebody Like You, the first Maverick Junction novel was a great contemporary romance. The whole rich city girl falling for the country guy is a story that I have read many times before, but Lynnette Austin took the popular trope and made it stand out from the crowd in this extremely memorable and satisfying romance. I absolutely loved this book! It was such a flawless love story and I couldn't get enough of Cash and Annie. Everything about how their romance developed was absolutely wonderful. I ...more

I have never read a Lynnette Austin, but like a true British girl, I'm in love with cowboys and Texas (ssshhh, don't tell my Pennsylvania Husband). So when I was offered the opportunity to read Somebody Like You, I jumped at the chance.

The story is about heiress Annelise Montjoy (aka Annie), who has come to Maverick Junction, TX, to find her dying grandfathers long lost half-sister, but what she didn't expect to meet was this smoking hot cowboy. But Annelise hasn't revealed her true identity to

From the get go I really liked Annelise. What's not to love about a woman riding a Harley and is quite the firecracker?

Cash was easy to like as he cared a lot for people, even if he was being stubborn for the longest time about marriage to save his beloved family ranch and toss out his 20 something year old "grandmother".

My one problem with this book is that it seemed to drag on in places. While I do love it, I think it could have been shortened word and page-wise and they should find out who

This is a sweet story of two people who on paper don't belong together finding exactly what they need when they weren't looking.
I like both Annie and Cash and really liked them together. The fact that they both made jumping to conclusions an Olympic sport was my one big complaint and the thing that kept this from being a 4 star read for me.
Overall, this is well written and a unique take on the city girl/cowboy theme. All of the characters are well developed and the potential stars of

Annelise knew there was something she could do to help her failing grandfather's health. She would just have to figure it out. What she didn't expect, but was coming to joy, was learning to be on her own.

Cash hired Annie because he wanted to get to know her, and they needed the help. He had no idea she would work so hard. He had no idea who she really was. When the secrets of their pasts rise to the surface, will there be anything left to salvage?

Gotta tell you, this book is a seriously slow bu

Cash obviously doesn't like it when his dog doesn't listen, “Staubach, get over here.” Cash snapped his fingers and pointed at a spot beside him. The dog dropped heavily onto the floor at Annelise’s feet. Cash glared at him as Staubach’s tail wagged happily. “Traitor,” he muttered." Cash sometimes has to reason with his woman, “Annie, you’re starting to sound like a broken record. Trust me. I’ll get you there . 4.5 stars! I really loved this book from Lynette Austin. Maybe it’s because I’m from Texas? Nope. It’s because she knows how to write a story that spans all type of groups. You’ve got the city slickers, you’ve got real cowboys, and you’ve got some of my favorite tropes. Cash has got to marry to keep the family ranch from being split. ‘Somebody Like You’ is exactly the kind of story that I have my Cowboys ‘n Country blog for. The first in the Maverick Junction series, Lynette just about had me holding my breath from the very beginning. After throwing all of the cowboy clichés out the window, we are left with two outstanding characters who would be just as interesting in a courtroom or on a cay as they are in small town Texas.

I loved it when it was Cash Hardeman who had the deadline for marrying in order to inherit instead of
