How do you stay inspired? This simple question Lori Robinson asked is one many of us have probably asked ourselves. The answers given in this book are as diverse as the conservationists interviewed. This is a well-organized book, and I appreciated the summary of each conservationist's work. Besides learning the source of motivation for these leaders in wildlife preservation, this book is a great overview of the state of conservation work. Read and be inspired!
I wanted to like this book better than I did- the title and the concept had me grabbing it off the shelf immediately. But it is often repetitive, rarely inspirational, and occasionally downright depressing. The first two thirds is especially redundant- every response to "How do you stay inspired?" is very similar. There were a few insightful contributions (Amanda Stronza's, for example), and I did learn about a lot of new people and organizations to look up. This book was just not what I wanted ...more
