I found that the importance of meditation is a little bit overwelming right now, it seems that without meditating and living mindfully living is almost impossible, but this is just my opinion. Anyway I found this book pretty good because it also underscores how hard it may be finding the right time and the right atosphere to meditate in an "not so friendly enviromnet" like family with kids for example. The tips and tricks are really usefull and in a way the meditation became something more easy ...more

When I began reading the book, I have to admit being a bit turned off about not being a gluten free, organic, vegan yogini; I'm more of a rum and cheeseburger, ride my harley kind of guy with an admittedly inconsistent and non-traditional meditation practice.

Some of the cartoons in the first half of the book felt a bit childish. The "tips" early on were very loosely defined; they felt much more like anecdotes than actual tips. In other words, they were vignettes of life rather than an instructi

I received this book from a Goodreads giveaway -this is my honest review: I found this book helpful and enjoyable to read. It seems that lately so many successful people that I see profiled on TV or in articles, they point to meditation as an important aspect of their life but with two kids under 4, I've always kinda laughed and thought there was no way I could fit it into my life (especially when somedays it's hard to go to the bathroom/take a shower without being interrupted!) But this book do ...more

Great tips to use if you have children and even if you don't. Somethings that would never occur to you to use.

This book starts out with a brief introduction to meditation and great tips to combat those swirling thoughts that jump on you now that you've slowed down enough to think them.

The tips themselves are a little new age, but not bad. I don't think I'll be explaining meditation to my kid as "seeing fairies in the forest" and no, I don't have guilt over sitting her in front of Peg + Cat for a half hour of quiet. What really bugged me was the art. Every few pages there are stick figure drawings. I'm

This book is a collection of tips and stories to help Parents and anyone who takes care of others be more mindful and calm. I am not a person who meditates by nature and probably will not become one; but I can take some of the principles and try to apply them to every day life.

For example, one tip was to stand up straight, relax your face and breathe when stressed. I did this during a horrible work scenario and felt more calm and ready to face it.

Another good tip is to not dismiss emotions or

I thought this book was going to be more like Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, a bunch of quick tips and advice, but for parents instead of just general life. It did have some of that, but most of it was about how to Meditate sometimes using obscure words and references that, for someone with no experience with Buddhism, are quite confusing.

But it wasn't completely bad. The few parenting tips that are in there are good. The one that is repeated most often is " When life gets stressful, stop, tak

Thank you to ClearSky Publishing & NetGalley for a digital copy to review.

I enjoyed Meditations for Moms & Dads. Not sure of what to expect, the book is filled with practical information, as well as humor, which I found delightful! I was glad to see it wasn't filled with "YOU MUST", but rather "try this" advice. I will be passing along this title to many families that I know. Thank you~
