I don't usually write reviews on books that I've read years and years ago. But as I was updating my "to-read" shelf, this book popped up and I had to write something.

I've been journaling since I was a little girl. I love the feeling of putting pen to paper, thoughts to ink, and seeing them sprawled across the page. To this day I keep a journal close to my bed, because it helps me have a more objective look on my day, my week, even just my life in general, and it always leads to a glorious conversation with God.

This book was one that was very influential in my journaling career because seeing Christy's thoughts, and mistakes, and confusions and dreams, helped me be able to express myself in my own way with my journal. Having been an avid Christy fan, I'd already read every single Christy book there was, so it was fun to almost "relive" those memories while reading her journal.

That's why this book is special to me. Not because of my normal criteria of great plot structure, fabulous character development, or even an intriguing back cover. Just that it helped me when I was young establish myself as a journal writer. Little did I know that I would be continuing the habit to this very day!

Excellent for anyone hooked on Christy Miller, but doesn't quite do it as well as the original series. Just not enough plot. Still good, quick read for those who love Christy and friends.
