Nerd turned writer. The force is strong in this girl.
During the day, Ryleigh is an analyst, but even then, she’s writing, sneakily crafting scenes on post-it notes. She's been told she's a bit of a geek...some say nerd. She'll agree to it all. She loves music. It's been a force in her life for as long as she can remember. Her love of Star Wars and superheroes has probably been going on just as long...see, this is where the geek/nerd thing comes into play. But, most of all, Ryleigh loves the written word. She's been writing for a long time. Her first story came to her during one of her history classes. She wrote it in the margins of her notebook in teeny tiny letters so no one knew that she was writing a book instead of taking notes on 16th Century Europe. She currently lives in Chicago, Illinois, with her husband and son, along with her Siberian Husky, Mick Jagger, and her cat, Winston Churchill. #PostItQueen

REVIEW
*May contain spoilers *
This book is part of a series and although it can likely be read as a stand, alone I would suggest beginning it from Book 1. I have read the previous books in this series and let me say I am so thankful to have gotten a chance to read this book. It explains so much to me that I never realized from the previous three books. Mia what can I say about Mia she has always been screwed up obviously and Ethan did not stand for it at first. The story mostly focus' on Lizzie, Tom, and Marc. Lizzie and Tom are best friends and always have been however, Lizzie left town with little contact for over 8 years. Tom has always loved Mia and he may finally get his chance? Or will he? Lizzie is back and at a party at Toms meets his other best friend Marc. She falls hard and it ends up costing her big time. And as any best friend would be there Tom is there to pickup the pieces, Lizzie, and him figure out something very important. No the story is not all love and HEA. The author gives us heartbreak, forgiveness and wow what an ending. I totally and truly loved this story.
I was gifted a copy of this book for my honest review. Ryleigh Andrews
So I totally screwed up and read this book not realizing it's a series but you can totally read it as a standalone.
This story is told in 2 parts.
Lizzie leaves her home town for 8 years, finally realizing her heart is not where it is meant to be so she moves back home. After 8 years she reaches out to her former best-friend Tom, he invites her to a party where she meets Marc. AND MARC quite literally rocks her world. I loved Marc but he's the guy that has to many doubts and he finally realizes this after Lizzie has fallen.
Tom her former best-friend is there to pick up the pieces to her broken heart. Tom was such a lovable character he's the best-friend every girl wants on her side.
There is so much to this story all the details mean something. All the characters bring something to the table.
Then it happens that moment in the book. I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!!!! Soooooo good.
This book made my head spin so much happened I'm still thinking about the effects it has had on me.
This was my first book from Ryleigh and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
I'm glad that I spent my life living out my fantasies with you."
I Received an Arc For a Review So do not keep reading unless you want to find things out about the book before it is released!!!..
When i first got this book it took me a bit to work out who everyone was and their previous stories but after the second chapter i was hooked and couldn't put it down ( literally i read the book in 4 hours ). Some parts did seem a bit confusing having 3 main characters but it was great i loved every minute of it and it was great to see how things panned out on the other side of the book not just ( Mia and Ethans story ) . There was Tears and Laughter and Generally happiness in this book i loved it alot!
and i must say im Glad to see Marc Got his happy ending even if he took a couple of detours with his head stuck up his Ass :P

I received a complementary copy of this book for an honest review. I'll admit I was hesitant on starting this book. I guess because the first 3 books in the series were so full of angst that I wasn't sure I could handle that but I was so pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I do recommend reading books 1-3 first so that the reader has a better understanding of the other characters that are within this book as well. Part of me was worried that this was going to be a love triangle book between Lizzie, Marc and Tom but that wasn't the case at all.
Lizzie and Tom had been friends for so many years. Lizzie moved away for college and a career then one day she realized she was missing all her friends from so many years ago and was just missing out on life in general. So she decided to move back to Chicago and once she settled in the first person she thought of was Tom, her best friend. When she goes to his house for a party one night, she meets his other best friend, Marc. Marc and Lizzie have an instant connection that neither one can explain but enjoy nonetheless.
Marc has demons that he constantly fights from his past. But once he and Lizzie got together, those demons didn't seem to come around as much and therefore he didn't need to fall back to his old lifestyle of trying to numb the pain and silence those demons. But Lizzie started traveling more for work and because she was gone more, he became weaker to try and fight the constant battle. One fateful night he succumbed and Lizzie caught him. Marc did what he does best...run. No explanation or anything.
This leaves Lizzie completely lost and not sure how to move on with life because she didn't get the closure she needed from Marc. She turns to Tom, who is dealing with the end of his relationship with Mia and together their friendship helps heal their broken hearts. Then they realize that there could be something more between the two of them but don't want to ruin their friendship they have built over the years, as well as they each don't realize how the other feels.
Finally, Lizzie and Tom give in to their feelings and desires and their love grows even more than they thought possible. They are so incredibly happy together but parts of their hearts will always belong to the ones that broke them in the beginning.
Marc finally comes back and is hurt to see his best friend with his girl but he knows this was his own doing. When tragedy strikes, Marc decides to be there for Lizzie in any way he can to help her. No matter the cost to his heart.
This book was so incredibly wonderful. I just loved Marc, Lizzie and Tom. This book is by far my favorite of the series.
Lizzie has just moved back to town after 8 long years of chasing her dreams and realizing that she just needs to be back home. She decides she she needs to re-connect with her best friend Tom. Tom and Lizzie have been friends since childhood. She calls him up and he invites her over to a party at his house where she meets Marc. Marc and Lizzie totally hit it off and start dating. Marc is Tom's best bud and have been for nearly the whole time that Lizzie has been absent from Tom's life, about 10 years or so. Marc has some issues and usually self medicated with either drinking or doing drugs. Once he starts seeing Lizzie he tries very hard to keep this in check, when nearly a year goes by and one day the pull is just too much for him. Lizzie is left devastated and broken, with Tom around to help her through this difficult time it makes life much easier for her to move on.
I absolutely loved Lizzie and her strength, not many would have been able to pick up the pieces and forge forward with as much strength and dignity as she did! It would have been so easy to just give up and that she never did!
I loved Tom's character, he has such a positive impact on each and every life he touches in this story. He is a great friend and a pillar of strength to them all. They all seem to depend on him for one reason or another. It's rare to find someone like that.
I loved Marc as well. He definitely had his flaws, but I love that he took ownership of them and he wanted to fix them to be a better man for himself and for Lizzie. I didn't agree with the way he handled his situation at first, but eventually came to understand why he did what he did.
This was my first introduction to Ryleigh Andrews, and I was not disappointed. Apparently this is part of a series, that I will definitely be reading, but you can read this as a stand alone and not feel lost! At first I was overwhelmed by all the story lines going on, but once I got into it, I could see how they are all intricately entwined. There is just so much going on, but it's so well written and easy to get caught up in the story. The twists and turns are completely unexpected and threw my off guard many times. It is an emotional and gut wrenching story. I spent the better portion of the second half of the book in tears with my box of tissues close by! Fair warning... You will cry! This is a story that will stick with you long after you've finished reading it! This is definitely a 5
Rayleigh Andrews is author I've red in the past with the Never Over series with Ethan and Mia. I was glad when she wrote a book that looked deeper into Tom, Lizzie, and Marc. This book can be red as a standalone but its best if you read the series. Their story will pull you in, hold you captive, rip your heart out, and then give back to you piece by piece. It was such a beautiful story that had me gripped and my head guessing what was going to happen next. This book is told in two parts.
Lizzie works as advertising consultant. She works hard and kept being passed over for promotions. She was unhappy at her old job in Colorado and decided it was best to go home to Chicago. Once home, she figures its time to left her longtime best friend, Tom, know she us back. Tom is overly happy to have her back in town and invites her to a party. He has been her best friend since they were kids. At the party she meets Marc and sparks fly at first meeting.
Lizzie and Marc hit off and being dating. Lizzie is a workaholic and at her new job her boss sees that and gives her more responsibility. Marc has been dealing with issues prior to meeting Lizzie, one of them being drugs. Lizzie catches him and Marc bolts. She's a mess and calls Tom to help her. They together learn that Marc admits himself into rehab for drugs and dealing with the death of father.
Tom was dealing with a break up with Mia before helping Lizzie and it brought up feelings for his best friend he wasn't sure what do with them. Lizzie and Tom soon figure out they are more than best friends and fix each others broken hearts. Their love is powerful and beautiful with so much promise for a truly wonderful future until a tragic accident changes everything.
I was able to really connect with Lizzie in so many ways. She is strong, has the biggest heart and knows how to pick herself up after being knocked down. Does Lizzie marry Tom and have a beautiful life? Will Marc come back and claim what was once is?
Be prepared for a bumpy, exciting yet emotional adventure! This book was so amazing! Such a beautiful way to end the series. I definitely can not wait to see what Ryleigh has in store for us in the future.
This is the fourth book in the Never Over You series, but can be read as a stand alone. I recommend reading the first three so you get the whole story.
In this book we get Lizzie, Tom, and Marc's story during the same time frame as Mia and Ethan's story is happening. I love all three of these characters and was so excited to read their stories!
Lizzie is moving back to Chicago after being a career driven women and moving to Colorado. She plans on reconnecting with her best friend Tom, who was a love interest of Mia's in the Never Over You series.
She goes to a party that Tom is throwing where she sees him for the first time in 8 very long years! She also meets one of Tom's best friends Marc, who is also a part of Mia's life. Marc has many demons of his own that he spends every day trying to deal with. There are some sparks between Marc and Lizzie, but when things get hard he runs. Will he run or stick around to see what could happen with them?
Lizzie knew that this exchange had more meaning than the simple words spoken. Though love was never simple. Yet, with these words, they declared their commitment to each other.
Lizzie and Tom's lives fall apart at the same time and they eventually turn to each other for comfort. Without the other I'm not sure they could have climbed out of the hole they were both in.
"I love you—whatever you’re going through, I can help. I can be there for you, just don’t leave me. Please … please …”
Poor Lizzie has her world turned upside down in more than one way in two years...one of Marc's doing and the other by an act of fate. What will Lizzie do when this happens? How will she survive this? Who will she turn to?
This book will have you feeling so many emotions! Ryleigh has done it once again with this one! You will not be disappointed, just one word of advice...make sure you have the tissues close by.
This is the fourth book I have read by author Ryleigh Andrews. I love this authors writing style, she has the ability to write a story that will grab you from the very beginning, and by that I mean even the title.
For those of you who have read the Stars on Fire Series, most of the characters in Losing You will be like family. This is Lizzie, Marc and Tom's story. Now when I read books that I love it happens in one of two ways, either really really quick because I just need to know what's happening, or really really slow, because I know the book is going to destroy me, this book was read so slowly.
Okay so where do I start, this book was everything you'd expect from this author, a beautiful story from start to finish, a few laughs here and there, and utter heart wrenching grief. The three main characters are all so well developed, I felt so connected to them all, that I wanted to hand out hugs and words of wisdom and comfort just as you would for your best friends, because that's how I truly felt towards them, yes they are fictional, but in the hours when I was reading they were real, and so were my tears, of both grief and love.
I won't say more as I don't want to give spoilers, and it would be do easy to do, I will say that I loved for the epilogue and am hopeful that this has set us up for the next book from this amazingly talented author.
This was my second book by Ryleigh Andrews. Yeah, I know this is the fourth book in the series, but the way it was written I don't think too much was ruined that I couldn't go back and finish the other two in the Stars on Fire series. I'm actually glad I read in this order. The story seemed to pick up around the same time frame as the first and second books. I love how all of the characters are connected. We met Mia and Ethan in Bring Me You. Marc is good friends with Mia and Tom is best friends with Lizzie. We get to see how all of these relationships evolve.
This book really messed with my head and my heart, more so my heart. I tried to deal with the angst and piece together what was going to happen. While drawing out all of the book's many links, I had it all mapped out of what I wanted for each character. I have seen these characters overcome so much pain. I have grown to love them deeply. I understand why the story went the way it did, much like life, (Everything happens for a reason). I was so mad at what happened! Ryleigh Andrews wrecked havoc on my heart causing me to bawl my eyes out and to just stare off into space. Why? why? why? I know she is sorry so I can't really hate her. I actually can't wait until my TBR list eases up on me so I can finally finish this series. <3
Ryleigh Andrew's is an author whose work has been sitting on my TBR for a while and after reading Losing You, I am seriously kicking myself for not moving her prior books higher up on the list. In Losing You, Lizzie moves back to the Chicago area and reconnects with her best friend, Tom. That re-connection leads her to meet Marc, Tom's other best friend. The story that follows gives us a glimpse into what relationships are really made of and what it takes to be happy. This well written exploration has us asking the questions - can loving someone fix what might be "wrong" with us or do we have to fix ourselves first? Is loving someone enough if you aren't "IN Love" with them? Do friends really make the best lovers? Are some relationships really the right person at the wrong time? We follow the trio over the course of several years and witness their highs, their lows, and we get to see them pick themselves back up and try again. There were times when Ms. Andrews absolutely breaks your heart, but watching her characters triumph over adversity you are encouraged that love always finds a way. Sometimes it takes losing someone to find what you are really meant to have in life.
This story! Oh my heart! Absolutely hands down the best book written by this author yet! Love diving into the story of Tom, Lizzie and Marc. So much emotion, heart, soul deep gut wrenching tears while reading this story. Every book she has written has had me crying happy tears, sad tears and being pulled into the characters in the stories. This one was no exception. Lizzie and Tom have been best friends since they were young but lost track of each other when Lizzie went away to school and built a career far away. She comes back home and rekindles her life long friendship. She meets Marc and passions ignite between them instantly. When things fall Tom is always there to pick her up just as she is for him when he needs it. They are brutally honest with each other and keep each other afloat. This book is really book 4 in the series of this author and these characters were secondary in the other stories of Mia and Ethan. Now they are front and center. This can be read as a standalone. I would recommend the others just as I have loved them so much harder from knowing them better now. Be ready for a ride and keep those tissues handy! Ryleigh Andrews has really brought the feels this time.
OMG this book is phenomenal! Every possible emotion can be felt in this book. I laughed, I cried, I fell in love, I got angry, and then was healed and found my happy again. I absolutely loved the Never Over You series and was thrilled to be getting this story. I loved Tom in that series and Marc had always intrigued me. While Losing you can be read as a stand alone if you have read the other books in the series it will answer questions you didn't even know that you had. Ryleigh writes in a way that makes you feel like part of the story, she draws you in and doesn't let you go. She makes you feel as though you experiencing the story rather than reading it. Lizzie has spent the better part of her adult life concentrating on her career. When that leads her home she is determined to reconnect with the friends she left behind. Through reconnecting with her best friend Tom she meets Marc, a journalist with a dark past. I don't want there to be any spoilers so I will stop there. If you are looking to live in a different world for a little while then you should definitely read this book!
OMG!! I don’t know where to start….this book was amazing! I’ve read Ryleigh’s Never Over You series and this is her best writing yet! Losing You is a standalone and while reading the other series gives you a little more background on the characters it is not necessary. Ryleigh has a way of weaving the characters together by providing enough character background information to not lose the reader. It begins with Lizzie moving home after 8 years away and reconnecting with high school friends, including her best friend Tom. When he invites her to a party, she meets Marc and they end up falling in love. When circumstances are out of her control and Marc leaves, Tom is there to help put her back together again and their friendship grows into something more. Just when Lizzie sees herself on the right path in walks Marc back into her life. Suddenly everything changes and life isn’t as she thought it would be and it’s Marc who is there to hold her hand and help put her back together. This book had so much emotion…you will laugh, cry, be mad and in the end you will love Tom, Marc and Lizzie’s story. It’s a must read!
So, I was honored to read this book before being published, thank you Suga!!!
This book is so good and the feelings it left me with were so much, that I don´t know where to start. But I just want you to know how much I LOVED this book. This time, Ryleigh hit it outta the park, because even though I'm in love with her NOY series (and she put me through the ringer with all the angst and emotional ride) I think this story is absolutely her BEST BOOK SO FAR! And for me, emotionally was the hardest book to get through with my emotions. Anyways, let's get to the point.
This book can be read as stand alone, but it is so much more gratifying reading the NOY series first, because you'll get more of the characters that you already know, and get meet other characters to a deepest level, that are our principals in this book.
Lizzie, Tom & Marc!! <3 I love them ALL!!! Each of them have a special place in my heart but without a doubt Tom will be forever ingrained in my heart and mind, always my Pooh Bear. This book was everything I expected and more, it has it all! Love, laughs, loss…it’s a real emotional ride but I assure you it’s worth every bit of it!
This Book absolutely took me on an extreme roller coaster of emotions, When I began reading this book I wasn't quite sure what to expect, this was my first read from Ryleigh Andrews and I am so in love with her writing I will rush to one click everything she writes. Ryleigh takes you on a journey and her words jump from the page and take you on a journey that will keep you up turning pages all night long.
The book spans over a period of years and is a journey of relationships, friendships, careers, loss and so much more. It includes battling demons and some drug/alcohol abuse. The Story of Elizabeth, Marc, Tom and Mia will break your heart into pieces then rebuild it and then shatter it but do not be discouraged and this is a book you have to read.
I fell in love with Elizabeth and her quirky character I fell hard for Marc and Tom and was absolutely blindsided by the huge twist/bombshell in this book. I laughed, I cried A LOT but I Loved the ending and the epilogue this book was equal parts heart wrenching and heartwarming and scorching hot. loved every second of the growth of these characters.
Tom. Best friend and lover. I'm so glad to have his story. Tom's story of Mia. Tom's story of Marc. Tom's story of Lizzie. Tom's sadness, strength, and love. Tom was good through and through. His story was a mixture of beauty and heartbreak. I kept waiting with the turn of each page for the when and how. I felt gutted even though I knew it was coming. Even with the inexplicable loss, beauty came of it.
Marc. Lover, lost and confused. He found his way and became the man, friend and lover he always wanted to be. Never give up. Believe you can be better and take each day as it comes.
Lizzie. Unlucky in love. Lucky in love. To have loved and lost two such good men. One of the strongest heroines I've read.
I'm still reeling and as much as I love Marc, I'm completely in awe of and in love with Tom. My tears don't want to stop.
Thank you for Tom's story. I can only imagine the heartbreak and tears that went into each page of his story. But the man who we saw in the other stories needed his own and it truly was beautiful.
Lizzie has been away for her hometown and her very best friend Tom for way to long. When what she thought was her dream job just wasn't anymore, she decided it was time to head back home. Once back where she belonged she reached out to the one person she missed the most Tom. Once they reconnected that's where she met Marc. Their relationship took off everything was good, at least that's what Lizzie thought till one day she walks in on Marc doing the unthinkable. He just left her no explanation nothing. Feeling like she was breaking the one person that stayed by her side was Tom, her Best Friend Forever. What they never thought would happen was seeing each other in a different light, not as just friends but as something more. When everything is going good your pass comes back and tragedy hits. Can Lizzie find her way out of the deep dark hole she finds herself in. But through darkness the light is waiting for her. Can she find her happiness again. Well, all I will say is grab this book and get lost in Lizzie, Tom and Marc's story.
I am a huge fan of Ryleigh's Never Over You Series and was so excited to hear she had a new book coming out!! This is a standalone book, but I would encourage reading her other books as well to learn more about the characters involved :)
This book focuses mainly on Tom, Lizzie and Marc, but you still get to see the rest of the gang from the Never Over You trilogy. I wasn't sure how I was going to like this book in the beginning. I really love Mia and Ethan and didn't know if I would like not having the focus on them. It only took a couple of chapters, but then I got sucked in to this world all over again. This time around I got to see things from different perspectives and in my opinion this really added to the experience. This book mainly takes place over a four year time period and in that time you experience a lot of emotional highs and lows with these characters. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but I will say this book is great and I encourage everyone to read it!
I love all of Ryleigh's books and this one is no exception! In this story we follow a couple relationships between Tom and Mia, Tom and Lizzie, and Lizzie and Marc. Tom and Lizzie have been friends for years, and she is finally coming home after being away for many years. Marc and Lizzie end up meeting at one of Tom's parties and they instantly connect from there. But when something comes between these two, Marc ends up disappearing and leaving Lizzie some to fend for herself. Tom ends up picking up the pieces and they end up falling in love with each other. But what happens when Marc comes home? Will it ruin their relationship or will Marc be able to realize it his actions pushed these two together. Lizzie suffers another tragedy, on Tom's birthday has to learn how to cope with what is going on. Will she be able to get through this with her friends and Tom's family or will the darkness pull her in?
I was so happy to have my hands on this book and to get to know some other characters better!! And knowing those characters better made me love them more. You see, I never hated Tom, but I never really liked him because I saw him as a threat.... Boy was I wrong! I always love being wrong about a character. So enough about Tom because there is tons of things I love about Lizzie and Marc. But the thing I love most, the friendship of these 3. It's always there and always will be! No matter what life throws at them! There is laughter, happiness, anger, and tears in this book, but I wouldn't give up the tears for anything! Have a box of Kleenex ready for about the last 20%!!! This story comes full circle and you'll soon love these characters as much as me! One click ASAP to meet a group of amazing characters that will always hold a special spot in my heart!!
Let me start off by saying, I have not read the other books in the series. Starting with this book, I could tell there was a lot of back story that I would understand had I read the others, however, a little ways into the book it didn’t bother me one bit. There are several characters in this book and each one plays an important role that you might not recognize until the end. Trust me, you want to read this book from beginning to end! It’s worth every minute. This is the first book that I have read from this author, but it’s all I need to read to know that I am a huge fan. This book was incredible. There were things that happened that took me by surprise. I don’t think it’s an easy process to take so many twists and turns in a book and have it end perfectly without losing the reader at times along the way, but Ryleigh Andrews did that. She has written an amazing book!
I absolutely loved Ryleigh Andrew's Never Over You series and Losing You gives you the story of some of the side characters. Here we get Lizzie, Tom and Marc's story. The emotions are strong and lots of tears are shed. We get to relive some major parts from Mia's time with Tom from his point of view as well as some things about Mia from Marc and Lizzie's points of view. During the epilogue, we get a surprise about two new characters that link to Mia and Tom and I hope we get their full story too!!
Losing You shows us that you can have multiple loves in your life.
This book! Where do I even begin! I absolutely loved this story. I was so excited to get to read about the secondary characters from the other books in the series. While this is a standalone, I definitely recommend reading those other books. It is an amazing series and you should start from the beginning. This story has heartbreak, angst, love and so much emotion that you will be dragged in from the first page. I was so involved in this story, I became more focused on it than what was goin on around me. I could not put it down. I can't wait to read more from this author.
I read and review a ton of books. I honestly enjoy the majority of them. But it takes an special story to get a five-star rating from me. This book knocked it out of the park! The characters are fully developed and the story line tight. Above all, it made me feel...I laughed, I cried, I swooned over the heros, my heartached for the characters, and I loved the ending! I can't say enough good things about it! Please note I received a copy of this book and I have in turn left this honest review.
This is the fourth book in the Stars on Fire series. It can totally be read as a standalone but where's the fun in that? I highly recommend reading the first three books if you haven't already. They focus on Ethan and Mia's journey but we see glimpses of the other characters throughout and they're great 5 star reads too. This is the story of Lizzie, Tom and Marc and it had me hooked. It's full of highs, lows and angst! Oh the angst! I don't want to give anything away so all i'm going to say is read it. Read it now! Can't wait for more. Thank you Ryleigh!
This book (Stars On Fire #4) can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the previous books!! The Never Over You books are hands down a must read about Mia and Ethan! I love Ryleigh Andrews writing style and she again does not disappoint!!! This book is full of emotion and pulls at your heart. Losing you has everything I want from a book. I fell in love with the characters, got angry, cried, and laughed. What more can I say than this book is a great read!!!
I have not read any of Ryleigh Andrews' books before? This was my 1st, I do wonder if I had read the other 3 books in the series would I have had a better understanding of the characters, story, her way of writing, etc.? Not sure. I didn't feel lost. I think? I enjoyed the way Ryleigh Andrews does write. It was a fast read.
I loved loved loved this series. It is Not a typical boy meets girl story. It is a story of life. ..the ups and downs that couples go through. I will so miss Mila and Ethan, their friends and children.
Best series ever. Am going through withdrawal after finishing all of the books. Just wonder about Mila and her last pregnancy.
