Haley Cooke has been missing for one month. Her boyfriend, Jordan dropped her off at cheerleading practice and she hasn't been seen since. She walked into the school to get changed for practice but never came out....

How do you walk into a school and disappear without ANYONE seeing?

Once again, I put on my big girl panties and picked up a book in the middle of a series I’d not read before. Geez Louise; talk about nerves! Elizabeth Heiter’s Profiler series had come highly recommended though so it really wasn’t my fault that I had to read this, right? Lucky for me there was a concise letter in the front of the book filling me in on what I missed before that was pertinent to this book, which wasn’t much. These books can basically be read as stand-alones, but if you pick one up ...more

When the above note is found in a missing girl's bedroom, even more questions are asked by her family and the police. Now that it seems like 17 year old Haley Cook knew something bad would happen to her, and possibly who was after her, the local police call in Evelyn Baine, a profiler for the FBI.

Talented thriller author, Elizabeth Heiter returns with her highly anticipated Profiler series, following Hunted (The Profiler, #1), Vanished (The Profiler, #2), Avenged (The Profiler#2.5), Seized (The Profiler #3), to her latest:

STALKED (The Profiler #4) FBI profiler Evelyn Baine returns, as we delve into the innermost connections of deep secrets of the victim as well as the heroine’s past. An intriguing puzzle, as two cases connect. "The best of the series, thus far!

Quick thoughts:
I've read the first book in Heiter's profiler series and now the 4th book. I enjoyed this storyline much more than the debut and the character growth between books 1 & 4 makes me want to check out 2&3.

Quick read. Good mystery. Enjoyable.

*My Thoughts*

Stalked, by author Elizabeth Heiter, is the fourth novel in The Profiler series. Evelyn Baine is a Special Agent & Profiler who works for the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit. She excels at her job, and has gone above and beyond her actual job description in order to solve some really dangerous cases. One could say that Evelyn has stepped in it a time or two, but her desire to do her job better than anyone is why I continue to

When a seventeen-year-old girl, Haley, goes missing, police are puzzled to what could have happened to this all-American girl. Enter FBI profiler, Evelyn Baine. On the surface, this popular teenager seemed to have no enemies but as Evelyn digs deeper, building her profile, she discovers that maybe people around Haley have more to hide and maybe Hailey had some secrets. The intense investigation that burst into a riveting action at the moment's notice as the investigators put their own lives at risk as they are trying to solve the myriad of crimes that come to the light while trying to profile the kidnapper of the missing girl.
If you are a fan of the early production of Patricia Cornwell and her Scarpetta novels like I am, you are going to enjoy the profiler series, as they echo the same kind of atmosphere, darkness, and female lead who is not afraid of taking

I'm a sucker for a good suspense/thriller/mystery - definitely one of my guilty pleasures- so when I saw StalkedI was totally intrigued and had to indulge. I'm not at all familiar with this author, in fact, I've never read anything by Elizabeth Heiter before and when I picked up Stalked I wasn't aware that it was book four of the Profiler series but I took a risk and read it anyway and this book can absolutely be read as a stand alone. I'm sure that had I read the series in order I would have a ...more

When I picked up this book I didn’t realise it was the 4th book in the Profiler series, now I’m not sure about you but I usually hate to start a book which is already part of a well established series, but I’m pleased to report it can be read as a standalone. I’m going to be honest with you here and admit that although I enjoyed Stalked it just didn’t meet my expectations. The first chapter certainly intrigued me, but as I read on this wasn’t a book that grabbed me by the throat. Don’t get me wr ...more

This read much like an episode of Criminal Minds which I mean as a huge compliment as it’s one one of my favorite shows. My husband and I have watched every single episode from all twelve seasons, so to say that I’m a fan is putting it mildly. I was initially grabbed by the blurb because it sounded so similar, and though it definitely is, this book is unique enough that it stands out on it’s own. It’s also the fourth book in Heiter’s Profiler

Seventeen-year-old Haley has seemingly vanishes without a trace. A month later, her devastated mother, Linds, finds a hidden note in which Haley predicts her own death.

Kyle and Evelyn have been dating for six months now, but have only recently been able to go public, as in telling their employer, with their relationship. The rule restricting them is no longer an issue, which is a relief for them, but unfortunately, it's only because of Kyle's injury, one he sustained on a mission that resulted i

Stalked is a mesmerizing addition to Elizabeth Heiter's The Profiler series starring FBI Agent Evelyn Baines. Although this newest release is the fourth novel in the series, it can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend the previous installments as well.

Let me begin my saying that although this is book number four in a series, you do not need to have read the previous three books in order for this story to make sense.

I'm sure there will be a lot of people who enjoy this story. It was well written, and I imagine it goes the same way a lot of police work goes - lots of dead ends, lots of theories, and one eventual thread that ties it altogether.

However, this story just seemed to be entirely way more complicated than it needed to be. There was a

STALKED by Elizabeth Heiter is far better than it should have been. I under appreciated this book from the moment I received it from Harlequin Enterprises. I assumed it would be a massive love story wound about a thriller core, but I was wrong. This is a first class crime novel, rich in detail and dripping with suspense from the opening pages.

Stalked was a little disappointing since I really enjoy this series, but for some reason, I just had a hard time getting into this one. The first half of the book to me was just a tad boring and didn't flow.

It seems that everyone has secrets when Evelyn, an FBI profiler is brought into help find Haley, a high school student, who just suddenly vanished with nobody seeing it while she was on her way to cheerleading practice. The more she looks into things it seems to bring her into a case her boyf

In this fourth book of another of my favorite series we find Evelyn called in to consult in the case of a missing teenager. Kyle is on a new squad since his injury in the last book sidelined his HRT career. He's not happy about the change, but it does put him closer to Evelyn. He and his new partner (a familiar face from a previous book) get called in on a possible human trafficking near where Evelyn is working, and that's where things get interesting. Kyle's human trafficking case may be a fals ...more

Seven little words. That's all it took tosell me on reading this book. I had to know who wrote it and why. Most importantly, I needed to know if they were dead. And it didn't matter that I'd barely begun to read the blurb, and had no idea what the story was about. A blurb that starts like that simply cannot be ignored.

I often favour action-packed, high-octane romantic suspense/thriller books, so Elizabeth Heiter’s The Profiler series is a tamer, more cerebral read for me-- which says a lot, considering the fourth instalment, STALKED, involves suspected human trafficking! That said, I’m a big fan of Profiler heroine Evelyn Baine, BAU’s youngest profiler extraordinaire, and hero Kyle McKenzie, Hostage Rescue Team badass-turned-field-agent, and the growth & character development throughout the series. STALKED had many layers and many secrets, and most of them were deadly.

Kidnappings, disappearances, questionable police officers, accidents involving the police involved in the case, human trafficking, and barely a clue about anything or any connection that could be found.

STALKED was an intense but very good read.

STALKED focused on the investigation of a teenager who disappeared and led to many other issues and many suspects along with the questions of why and how.

I have read the Profiler series in order, Hunted, Vanished, Seized, and now Stalked. They CAN be read out of order, but the main characters are developed in Hunted, and they continue to grow throughout, so I definitely recommend starting with Hunted. I opened Stalked and was instantly sucked into a story which sounded exactly like news stories we are hearing about in our world today. Thank you to author Elizabeth Heiter and publisher Mira Books for this Advance Uncorrected Proof copy of Stalked. Also, thank you to Goodreads for making this opportunity possible through the First Reads program.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. Good story, flowed well. A little shallow in spots with some hand holding to explain things. There are a few areas that made me think, "uh, no." For example, the raid on the house is done by the three FBI and one local police officer. No assist? SWAT? Runnin

I have had the good fortune to read this series from the beginning. Although each book can stand alone, each book leaves you looking forward to more. This series is becoming better and better with each book. The story is told from Evelyn Blaine’s point of view. I won this ARC on Goodreads.

First of all I will say that I don't as a rule read anything but Christian Fiction because I can read those without all the swearing and gutter language and this one had plenty. I am aware that that doesn't bother a lot of people but it does me. I made an exception to the rule due to the fact that I won this book and I wanted to be able to do a review of it, although it will be a short one. I enjoyed the plot of the book as it seemed to be well researched and I also e

STALKED BY ELIZABETH HEITER: is the fourth in the series of the profiler books. This is the first book of the series I have read. I usually find it somewhat difficult stepping into the middle of a series but not with this one. The very first thing the author did was to recap what the plot line was from books 1-3 which was a huge help in getting up to speed with the series and its characters.
