Best book ever! If you are a kid out there, and you don't know to buy this book or not, GET IT!!!
If you didn't read the rest of the series, it would be very confusing. So read the hole series first.

My kid loves these books and we've been powering through them all thanks to the inter-library loan program. This time around Runt and Pebble finally have their reckoning, and a new kid with problems of her own shows up to teach the group about how to use redstone in interesting ways. There's a bit of a romance sublot in the second half of the book, which the 8 year old wasn't as interested in as the battle against Herobrine's mobs.

I LUVED it! I <3 Minecraft and LUV adventure... so... this is one of my favorite series so far!! I wish it were longer!
I'm currently on the second to last book and almost done with it... I am SO SUPER sad! UGHHHH MAKE IT LONGER CUBE KID!!!!!!!!

Team Runt gains a new and highly useful team member in this book. But the friends began to learn that everything has a price.
I was really excited to read the next installment to the series for the who-knows-what time. One of the reasons being I always felt like I didn't like this one as much as the others. But as I've been rereading this series again I was actually pretty pumped for this one knowing it marks the end of Runt's journey at the Villagetown School of Minecraft and Warriory.
And it didn't disappoint.
This book starts off very strong with a great battle and interesting turn of events with bully Pebble Graybanner. Afterwards we get Runt's last week of school which is filled with multiple tests. Some tests about skills and others about friendship.
The moral of the story or whatever you want to call it is actually really good and we get to see a different side of Runt which is awesome for character development (insert nerd emoji here).
Anyway, this is a great ending to Runt's school journey and an even better launchpad for the next books.

I had extremely high hopes for this book originally, as Cube Kid is one of my favorite authors, and every book in the series had been better than the last, but was greeted with a very boring book.The first few chapters were works of art, being just as good, if not better than Crafting Alliances, but after Pebble was banished, it all went downhill. The entire plot focuses on Runt's relationship with Lola, who is a completely one-dimensional character, having no personality other than being "happy". All of Runt's other friends either contribute nothing or very little to the plot. Nearly the entire book is focused on four tests, and has several chapters that are meant only to fill up pages (like Pebble's record book). The new villain has no personality either, unlike Max, who eventually became Runt's friend, or Pebble, who at least cared about the village. The ending is abrupt, and does not feel like a finale at all. This feels to me like Cube Kid just wanted to get the series over with.

I. LOVE. MINE. CRAFT. I LOVE MINECRAFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE Mincraft because if you play it you get inspired (I mean by like building stuff) , you can build more things and get more inspired...................................................... (etc.). In this book Runt meets this "redstone nerd" near the end of the book (I think). The "nerd" made a very very very very very simple flying machine with slime blocks, pistons, and redstone blocks. AND for the first time in the series (I think) A BUNCH OF PEOPLE OTHER THAN RUNT WRITES IN HIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Runt goes CRAZY about it. (and plus, I still don't get what the difference is between the Diary of an Wimpy Villager series and the Diary of an 8- bit warrior is. (I still remember when Runt used that potion of leaping II.....................) Overall, I think this book was the best in the series because it was the most exciting, and the funniest. >_< *_* ^_^ "_" '_' =<^_^>= <- (that's a happy kitty, which does NOT mean I like them)

Still just as good!
THE ENDING!! BREEZE AND RUNT!! AH- 🥹💛
Again, this was just as good as I remember.
The characters, the lessons learned, the jokes, and all the other fun, crazy, heartfelt, and goofy things that happen made me love reading this just as much as I did the first time!
I can't wait to continue the series... 4 stars for this one!

Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior: Path of the Diamond is the fourth adventure for Runt and friends by Cube Kid. Originally published in 2017, this reformat and re-release from Simon & Schuster on their Andrews McMeel imprint is 285 pages and available in audio and ebook formats.
This is an engaging and action filled adventure for Runt and his friends. Zombies are attacking, Pebble and his gang are trying to blow up Runt and frame him for destroying the wall, and even worse, school exams are coming up. Although the story is clearly aimed at young readers 7-12 years of age (Lexile 570), there's quite a lot of subtle humor to appeal to adults/older readers.
The audio format is charmingly narrated by Michael Gallagher. The total run time is 3 hours and 40 minutes and the narrator does a really good job of keeping the characters' voices distinct and easy to follow. There's a lot of rapid dialogue, so the narrative gymnastics are fairly impressive.
This is the 4th volume in the series, and although I had no trouble understanding what was going on, readers will need either a good understanding of Minecraft, or having read the other books in order, at a bare minimum.
I enjoyed this one and would heartily recommend it to fans of Minecraft, gaming adventures, RPGs, as well as public or school library acquisition. It might make a good choice for road trip listening, especially if there are young gamers along for the ride.

Cube Kid continues to escalate the stakes in the 4th book of Runt’s adventures. From a school perspective, final exams loom and Runt and his friends add a new member to their gang—Lola the Redstone Expert—forcing them all to learn something about friendship and trust. We really see Runt starting to bloom as a leader (even though he doesn’t believe it). And more secrets are revealed about cast members. The Minecraft “mechanics” remain deft and fun, even as Cube Kid introduces more variants (magic, alternate races, the Aeon Forge!). Runt and Breeze’s relationship is tested (once more in ways that feel very real for 12 year olds who aren’t sure what their relationship is). And the humans’ existential crisis deepens as they split into factions that believe different things about the world they live in.
I don’t want to make that list bit seem too dark. Cube Kid keeps it light and in the background but has real fun with one human character who, in the background of the main narrative, is clearly starting to have feelings for one of the villagers and struggling to reconcile that with her being an “NPC”. It never gets heavy, but it outlines what a sharp authorial vision lays behind the 12-year-old narrator’s voice. He never gets bogged down in these sorts of questions, choosing instead to hang a little sign on them, have some fun, and then move onto the plot line that will engage his chosen audience of 8-11 year old readers. It’s really quite impressive.

Honestly, it wasn't amazing. As soon as 'ol Pebble Graybanner was banished from the village, all that mattered was four flipping tests that Runt fails. Admittedly, Super Happy Fun Town was cool, but bruh REALLY!? The book ended with so much loose ends, why not make a book with Runt and company as like, a warrior scouting team? I mean you can't just leave me with so much cliffhangers like what happens in the relationship between Breeze and Runt, or Emerald and Kolbert. Cube Kid, YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME LIKE THIS!! I NED MOAR OF RUNT MAN!! I need their adventures after their school life! This shouldn't be Team Danger Kitty's last book can it? PLEASE MAKE ANOTHER BOOK!

Really Good!!! But why $7?
I am twelve years old, and I love this series! In fact, when I saw that this wasn't kindle unlimited, I went right ahead and bought it! But why seven? I mean, if this series hadn't totally inspired me in my writing, I would have only given four stars. BUT, Cube Kid, I was totally amazed by your Minecraft story skills and let the fact that I spent two week's worth of money on this pass. So sorry about your editor, even if that was a few years ago now. This is my first review on your books, and I wouldn't have even made it if you hadn't wowed me so much.

This is the book I am reading right now on my Kindle. THIS BOOK IS RATED FIVE STARS by Djmarshmello609, the beta games champion in Cubecraft games. I rated this five stars BECAUSE RUNT IS OBVIOUSLY SUPER SUPER AWESOME and the worst person in the book is Pebble. That's because HE PUSHED RUNT INTO A HOLE WITH A ROOF MADE OF TNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but, runt is

We really love these books!
My 7 year old and I love these books! We hope Cube Kid keeps writing about Runt and his team. My son loves Minecraft, and I (his mom) have had a harder time getting into it, but these books really bond is together and help me to appreciate the game more. My son loves both-- he gets ideas from these books for his game-play, he also gets ideas and concepts about friendship, teamwork, and life. Very well-written and fun to read together. Thank you! And keep it up!!

This book continues Runt's adventure to become a warrior, but first there is school and testing. To pass the tests, Runt trusts a girl who may have a secret weapon, but it could be that she has her own agenda.
This is a pretty good series based on a video game for younger readers. The art and story are fun and there are even strategy hints for the careful reader.

This is a great book. We only wish the pictures had labels for who is each character as it is hard to remember what they look like when you read a little bit each day. Team Runt is always on the job to defeat Herobrine and the mobs. Lola is perfectly imperfect. Breeze should not be jealous of Lola. Max should always go the library every day. Wondering how Pebble is doing out in the forest by himself.

I love these books, not matter how simple they are. They're funny, full of Minecraft info, and overall, just a quick read to pass the time! Runt is funny, the way he expresses things are.... I like Breeze's gentle but even vicious nature. Lol! Runt is SO CRUSHING on Breeze! And this series is for kids like 9-12!! I have nothing more to say other than CubeKid, this was another great book! Keep up the good work!

I enjoyed this book because I love Minecraft! I also enjoyed this book because Team Runt entered tunnel 77B even though it said "Do not enter." I also enjoyed this book because I liked the part when Runt held a diamond in his hands. I also enjoyed this book because I liked the part when somebody blew up somebody's version of Boom Mountain.

I loved all the books so far please make another book to the series i must known if the ever find the ancient crafting recipes and defeat Herobrine

As the mom of a Minecrafter, this book was thoroughly entertaining. Also, even though I had not read/listened to the other books in the series, I followed the story. The narrator did a good job in changing voices to keep the listener engaged. I keep thinking this would be a great audiobook to play during a road trip that would keep the whole car entertained.

OMG!!!!! I loved this book! I can't wait to start reading the next one
I definitely loved this book! Once I started reading it I was hooked and I had my nose in a book for the next few hours. This is one of my favorite books and the author should make more books like this.

December 8, 2020I loved it. 10 seconds in, and I got hooked on tight! I spent the whole 2 hours reading it straight. It was like a movie playing in the head! When Runt said that you keep going and never give up, it really meant a lot. Good book!

I’ve read and reread and re-reread theses books, and there’s always something I didn’t connect to the rest of the story, or something I missed entirely, especially with books 4-6 and 8-bit kitten. And on top of that they’re so funny! I love these books so much!
