I enjoyed this story and fell in love with the various characters. Killian Nelson is a take charge dominant man that turns out to be Cass Harper’s dream man. The plot kept me captivated and the pages turning as this new adventure unfolds with Cass and Killian. I loved her cooking blog and enjoyed reading the recipes at the end of the story. Cass is spunky, self-conscience about her body, but her love of food, her blog, and her dear friends is her priorit

Great book even if it is a bit unrealistic

I will say that I enjoyed this book even though the romance progressed at breakneck speeds... seriously. You get there, and pretty much the next day you are hooking up and in love.
Stephen was my epitome of a jerk. I wanted to push him off a cliff.
There was not much plot but the relationship between Killian and Cass was cute.

What a wonderful novella! I found the characters of Cass and Killian endearing and fun, while I loved to hate Stephan. Stephan hurt Cass and continued to harm her life as he tried to use her blog and the money from it to impress his new plaything. Cass just would not take anymore and decided to take a chance by going to Alaska where she meets Killian, the love of her life. There are sparks from their first meeting and things develop quickly between them. However, Cass does find out that when sh ...more

Witty and satisfying, Roasted is a winner on a new favorite author. Cassie is a fabulous heroine, smart, spunky, and a Spanko. Killian is a hunky Alaskan outdoorsman ready w a wooden spoon. the recipes, the humor and the discipline scenes will make you go "mmmm"

When huckleberries are confused for blueberries, love is bound to happen

Cassandra Harper is known for her blog, Cass Cooks.  It is there that she flourishes, feels truly in tune with herself, and shares her creativity and love for food.  Truly, Cass is famous. She has a huge following, and despite her boyfriend, Steph, trying to take credit for the blog and her success, Cass has a faithful group of people who believe in her and her cooking.

I had never read this author before and decided to give this one a try. I enjoyed the characters, but feel that their own relationship was pretty rushed. Both Cass and Killian just got out of serious relationships, but even though they never really "loved" the previous person--less than a week seems pretty quick to be talking marriage. Not that Killian asked her--formally at least. It was all very insta-love/insta-lust. Problems with past relationships cause current relationships to see

I think a lot of females (and I guess males) can relate to this story when it comes to wanting to be accepted for who you are and what you look like, and wanting to be loved. Which is what Cass wants. Cass is a blogger. Steph, her ex-fiance needs a good punch in the mouth and then there is Killian.

This was a pretty quick read. I think more could have been written about Cass and Killian's last relationships as I feel that was a little rushed - maybe more about them will come up in one of the oth

Easy read, well developed characters

I always appreciate when authors take the time to really develop their characters. Killian and Cass' characters development from the onset was engaging and kept me coming back for more. I'm happy to hear that this is the first in a series and will for sure be picking up the next ones when they come out. Sometimes loves stories can be cookie cutter and not hold your interest, once you have heard one you have heard them all kind of thing, but Susannah really hit

This was a very witty read! Roasted is from a new author who has grabbed my attention with this funny but touching book. Cassie is the heroine, she is smart and sassy. Killian, the hero is a hunky Alaskan outdoorsman a man prepared to use a wooden spoon on his partners cheeky bottom. The cooking theme the recipes, the humor and domestic discipline are delightfully written! I highly recommend this book!

Disappointed but loved the place where the story took place

There are 2 reasons for the low rating : 1. The language was FLITHY ! You can get your point across without the cussing. 2. The sexual content was strong. Once again you can get your point across without the cussing.
The best part of the book was the setting of being in Alaska. I love anything to do with Alaska.

Good read

I liked the book. It was a quick read but the story was good. It will be a book I read again.

I actually read Roasted about a month ago and am just now writing up the review. I read it because I was offered book two, but with Shannon being a new-to-me author, I didn’t want to agree to read book two without knowing if I enjoyed the author’s writing style. While I actually found the spanking aspects of the novella a little problematic (I’ll address why later), I loved the author’s writing style. I found myself laughing out loud numerous times while reading Roasted and, after spending time ...more

This was a delightful read almost made me hungry throughout the whole book. Cass Who is dealing with an ex fiancé a blog about delicious mouthwatering recipes does something she never would've thought she do just pack everything up and head out to Alaska to go meet one of her fans from her blog.. Killian when he first meets Cass when she shows up at Alaska sparks an attraction fly.... He's very protective of her especially out and about with all the Bears roaming around and trust me Cass finds ...more

So Glad This Was on Unlimited...

This book looked like it would be a quick, sweet read with some spanking on the side. The only part that was true is the quick part. The plot seemed solid, but the couple basically met and later that day they are together and he is spanking her. The next day they are talking marriage. Huh? There was no chemistry, the love scenes seemed to be written by a teenager... it was off putting. Also, the word "unto" is overused and shouldn't have been used at all. It also

A cookbook and a spanking romance - what is there not to love?
After being humiliatingly dumped by her ex, the heroine Cass packs a bag and heads to Alaska, where she attracts the attention of her very own mountain man. I loved Cass, I connected with her immediately as she is a loveable klutz with the same insecurities that many of us suffer and can relate to. The hero Killian, is strong, firm and won’t let Cass put herself down, again there is affection but also a teasing element which is a gre

I originally found Susannah Shannon’s book by accident. People kept posting cookbooks in the Spanking Fiction Readers and Writers Group I mod on Facebook, so I searched Amazon, and ta da! So I posted it in the group since there was cooking and spanking in the book. It is such a good read! It’s a fun and quirky spanking romance. I could have sat up all night and read the whole thing through, but I wasn’t able to do that. :/ For the longest time, I hadn’t felt like reading at all. Between Adaline ...more

This was a cute story. Cassie is a food blogger who has the worst taste in boyfriends! She left her last boyfriend because he wanted to marry her, but only after she lost weight. What an ass! So, he has a new girlfriend and is going to use the money in their account for a trip. She pre-empts him by using the money herself to go to Alaska to see a guy she has only talked to over the computer. Killian is a take charge kind of guy and he takes charge by spanking her when she puts herself in danger. ...more

Although this book will never be one of my favorites I did enjoy reading it. It is a novella so the relationship between Cass and Killian develops at a very accelerated pace, which causes some issues within their relationship that have to be addressed. The author does not shy away from addressing these issues which I enjoyed reading. I would recommend this book because, although short, the author was able to get me to buy into the main and secondary characters and cheer for Cass and Killian and ...more

This was a cute story about a cooking blogger that finally finds her true love. Cassie is on the rebound
from a horrible boyfriend. She goes to Alaska out of revenge and meets Killian her true love.
This story was funny, and steamy with many somewhat explicit sexual scenes.
Cassie finds that Killian is just what she needs in the love and spanking department. He takes charge and gives her several well deserved spankings. It ended rather quickly, when I
was hoping for it to go on, but

I really enjoyed this story.
Cass was witty, smart, beautiful and a fantastic blogger and chef. I can't wait to try out some of the recipes mentioned on her "blog".

The story was quite entertaining, and I loved the addition of the blog posts. They were wonderful.

I loved the DD aspect, and Killian was absolutely yummy!

This was a fast paced, humorous, wonderful read. I can't wait to read the next one in the series!

This was a delightful read. Loved the character’s humour and the storyline. It was great to see the added recipes, so even I can give them a go.
There were some inconsistencies and errors that could be easily corrected. In parts, it felt rushed and I would have liked to see some areas expanded with more detail. Overall, definitely a great story. Looking forward to the next book.

Well-done, Susannah!
I quite loved this book. It was clever, witty, well-written, and insightful. The characters were well-developed, as was the plot. It was cleverly begun with a post from the Heroine’s ‘cooking blog’. I fell in love with Cass, and Killian, and Hazel, and absolutely hated Stephen, the self-centered and vain one-but wouldn’t everyone? I am really looking forward to reading the rest of the series!

This was a wonderful book with a quick and funny story line. I love that Cass is able to one-up her horrible no good ex-finance and use her money to take a great trip to Alaska. There she meets the man of her dreams in Killian. After a short bump in the road, the two settle down to wedded bliss. Bonus - a small cookbook at the end of the book with some yummy recipes. I totally recommend reading this book.

Roasted with love

I am a huge fan of love at first sight, and that is what you get in ROASTED. It was a quick easy read. A little hard to follow, It felt a little rushed. I would have liked to seen more of cass and killian as a couple. Overall i enjoyed the book and would definitely recommend it to friends.
This was so much fun I loved it. The recipes looked good too. The only thing that kept it from a 5 star rating was as always IT WAS TO SHORT. I much prefer a lengthier story. I can't wait for more by her. As this was a first story I suspect she will do nothing but get even better.

Loved book. Only disappointing thing is way too short. Look forward to more by this author. Several erotic spanking scenes in a such a short story. Unique story line as well.

Spanking stories have a tendency to come across as sleazy but Susannah Shannon manages to circumvent those tropes with wit and style. I would certainly recommend it.

I write about romances that leave a mark- body and soul. A good laugh can bind two people as tightly as sublime sex can, and I love a happy ending.
