O-M-freaking-G!! I LOVED this!! Sawyer is that guy that is always good for a laugh. I have loved this character from the beginning. I feel like S.E. Hall truly gets me because she created a character that gets my sense of humour. I laughed my butt off for the entire book. It was short, to the point without being terse, funny as heck, true to Sawyer's exemplary character, and a fantastic addition to the Evolve series!!

Quote: "The most important thing for you to know is this: your first “date” will be with me. If and when you’ve read this entire survival guide, yes, emphasis on survival — your own — you still insist on pursuing my daughter, you and I will have ourselves a “sit down.”" I love how this was broken down to survival!!

Sawyer Beckett is one of my all time favorite book boyfriends. I didn't realize just how much I missed his character until I started reading this; and just like that, I'm back in the world of the "Crew."

This is a funny, sweet and so true short story of exactly how I think Sawyer would be if some guy decided to date his princess. I even read parts of this out loud to my husband who found it just as entertaining as I did. After all, Daddy's love their little girls.

If you haven't read the Evolve series yet, you are seriously missing out. Each story is really good and all of the characters are memorable. They each have a different personality and their friendships and relationships are believable and feel real. Thanks SEH for the gifting us with more Sawyer.

This book is about what it will take for a would-be suitor of a man's daughter. It's funny and yet makes a lot of sense on some counts and I would have hated it to be on the receiving end of the questions that the father has put together for the would-be suitor answer.

I really enjoyed reading and lol at some of the craziest chapters.

Also if you haven't read, Sawyer Beckett's Baby Mama Drama. you really need to. I laugh so hard as some of the issues that were discussed were hilarious.

This was hilariously funny and every parent with a daughter should read this!! I especially loved how hard hitter Gidget gets final say. A brilliant shot story. For more on these characters read the evolve series.

Consider me your personal Oscar Wilde. I welcome any follow-up questions you have. If you're unsure, ask me. Any time, day or night, if it concerns my daughter… I will answer.

Humourous short story, but it probably would have helped if I'd have read/listened to the books in this series first. Good narrator.

2016 review: I usually don't like novellas, but this was Sawyer, probably one of my favorite book characters ever, so I thoroughly enjoyed it. LOL moments and Sawyer's wisdom, can't go wrong in my opinion. If you haven't read this whole series, I HIGHLY recommend it, the Evolve series is one of my favorite series and one of the very few where I'll re-read them all.

2017 comment:

I absolutely loved this book. Short and to the point. As a mother of a teenage daughter, I found this so entertaining and I can't wait to read it again to my husband. It literally had me laughing out loud. I think all parents should read it. I love that S.E. Hall wrote this...it was spot on for all of us as parents. This is a must read....perfect, entertaining, short read.

Sawyer.
Let's be serious - nothing involving Sawyer is! Not only does he list his rules for dating Princess P, but he also explains (with a little Dane influence to help prevent legal problems). Bust your gut, how can anyone not find this man hilarious scenes that really allow you to see Sawyer's protective side.
Perfect addition to the Evolve Series - grab your copy today!!

As usual—and as much as I love Sawyer—this was basically a long list of misogynistic, often homophobic crap. It would have been more entertaining if this was written when she was a teenager rather than a full-fledged, independent adult who is capable of making her own damn decisions about how she spends her time & what she chooses to do with her body.
Yes, it was still entertaining & funny (because: Sawyer) but it was so hypocritical. Especially given the fact that Sawyer was such an unapologetic manwh0re until he met Emmet.
It also still makes zero sense for his character to be such a redneck when he’s from Connecticut!!! That was such a huge oversight that just nags me.

OMG, I love Sawyer and this is the reason why. He is the perfect protective father that sets the bar very high for anyone wanting to date his daughter.
Keep in mind that this is Sawyer Beckett that is telling these rules, so they are over the top and you can bet that Sawyer has broken a few of them himself. So that is why he knows them and will enforce them on his daughter's wannabe boyfriends.
So sit back and enjoy all that is Saywer and don't let his mouth and attitude bother you, it is just the way he is, he is the perfect daddy.

Priceless

Im not sure how I missed this in the series because Sawyer is life. This entire series and crew of characters is part of what brought me back to romance books.

This won't make sense if you haven't read the first books which I recommend doing so asap. This makes me want to go back and start the series over and review them (I read them before I knew the importance of reviews and just ranked them).

Interesting.

A quick little read about a father’s rules for any potential dates that his daughter might miraculously have. Lol…. My husband just said he would answer the door wearing a gun and see how things went. He didn’t of course but reserved that option.

It caught a laugh from me a couple of times.

Unfortunately, the humor was predictable (which you can get from the title), so that was about all I got from it. However, I could see jokingly gifting this book to a new father.

Tried too hard

The author tried too hard to be funny with this title. It was over-the-top protectiveness that wasn't amusing.
