June 10, 2022Picked this up at my library's used book sale today. There are quite a few really cute patterns for sweaters, vests, and other miscellaneous pullovers. The other review (from 2013) referenced the boxy 90's-ness of some of the patterns, which is definitely true! But aside from the fact that everything looks kind of boxy when it's not on a person, many of these designs have come back into style. So if you've got an ugly pattern book, hang on to it and soon enough they'll be cool again.
The patterns are written very clearly, and there are a few design charts included. There aren't any diagrams for how any of the pieces look, which can be quite helpful, but it's not an unforgiveable offense. I haven't made any of the sweaters, so I don't want to rate the book; but once I do I'll revisit.

These truly are beautiful, cottagecore dreamy. An interesting flip through from the library free rack.

Lovely big hardcover, filled with some nice (and some rather odd...) designs for crocheting several sorts of sweaters. Unfortunately, many of the patterns are of the then-popular (~1990) boxy big-shouldered variety, but an enterprising crocheter ought to be able to slightly modify anything they find in an otherwise appealing pattern. Some really good - and useful - basic designs make up for the aging sensibilities, though.
