You can be pure of heart and say your prayers every night; but, still, the most honest of folk may become a wolf when the wolfsbane* blooms and the autumn moon is bright.

* Much to my joy, we had wolfsbane growing in the backyard of my childhood home; don't pick, and don't place it under your pillow.

I always love learning more about werewolves, and it was great to see a nonfiction book about them and the various myths and lore from various cultures around the world. It's cool to see the differences and similarities between each myth, and I didn't realize there was such a large variety of werewolf traits. What we consider the stereotypical werewolf is actually something invented quite recently.
