Most of us would like to improve our homes and increase their value, but very few of us have the money to pay an architect to come up with innovative solutions. In The Room Planner, interior designer Paula Robinson provides all the ideas and practical information needed to adapt the spaces in which you live. The book features dozens of clear, color-coded project plans, allowing you to pick and choose layouts and designs according to what works for your home, whether you have a studio or a five-bedroom house. With chapters on Valuable Space (increasing property value), Flexible Space (creating moveable partitions), High-Performance Space (making use of available space), and Room-by-Room Space (solutions for individual rooms), this is an essential manual for both current homeowners and those building a house from scratch.
As an intuitive interior designer, Paula Robinson understands the profound effect that the spaces where we live and work have on our health, happiness and success in life.
Often called the ‘space whisperer’, she helps people to create living and working environments that transform their lives on all levels.
Paula has been an interiors columnist for The Sunday Times, The Sunday Telegraph and Move Or Improve? magazine, and is the author of "The Healing Home & Garden: Reimagining Spaces for Optimal Wellbeing" and "The Room Planner: Over 100 Practical Plans For Your Home".
Paula is happiest in nature - especially by the sea - and loves designing outdoor spaces. She is passionate about the environment, sustainable design, re-purposing furniture and objects, and supporting craftspeople over mass-producers.
This book offers solutions to spaces issues of already built accommodations that need to be refurbished. The majority of the solutions a provided are based on the concept of the open spaces homes instead of the "divided" homes.
Simple solutions that make the whole difference in your future life ;D
P.S. I took a star off because the paper were not mat.. the light kept on reflecting over the pages' floor plans images which was really annoying!
Full of great remodels- easy to read, color-coded floor plans. Most of the original homes inside are smallish, old, in disrepair, with bad layouts. The Room Planner Book tells exactly what was done to turn these potential jewels around. Reading it is a good brain exercise.
