Clint Lucas swore he would never fall in love, especially not with the woman he was currently holding for ransom. But in all honesty, he was halfway there and she made up the difference.

Riley Ledger has more spirit than a Ouija Board and more stubbornness than an ox. She can hold her own in a fight and can drink anyone under the table. Her mother's dead, her sister loves her but is ashamed of her, and her father - the sheriff - wants to marry her off to any man that will take her.

Enter Reese Hemingway: attractive, rich, and everything Riley hates in the male species.

When she's saved from a slap by wanted criminal Scott Lucas, she's more than a little intrigued. He's dirty, dangerous, and mean - unlike any other man she's met before. That's only emphasized by the point he decides to take her hostage. She vows to hate him more than she's hated anything or anyone before.

It's a good thing she's not a betting woman.

Full disclosure: I am an acquired taste. I'm a typical blonde Orange County suburbanite who says 'like' more than necessary, laughs loud and probably obnoxiously, and loves to dance in the rain. I'm a 23 year old college graduate with more than a few tricks up my sleeve, and I also happen to be a pretty big Ducks fan. Oh, and I'm a writer. Like, for real.

Wanted By You is a historical romance set in Texas with a different twist. Riley Ledger is the youngest daughter of the local sheriff and with her wild ways, not her father's favorite. She isn't looking for trouble but it finds her because of her desire for adventure.

She meets Scott Lucas when he saves her from being slapped by a new local landowner. Riley is an interesting character because she has grown up since her mother died young and being rejected by her father, she is looking for affection, caring and love. When Scott Lucas turns out to be an outlaw, she is surprised when he gives her what she needs and this makes a great love story with a twist when two independent individuals find a way to work out being in love while avoiding the law.

It does end with a bit of a cliff hanger as they continue on together with her joining his life style and seeking more excitement but not settling down to a happy ever after but for these two it works. It is worth reading for the emotional appeal and the adventure of the story.

I borrowed Wanted by You from the Kindle Unlimited library program.

Cowgirl

I didn't really expect this to be a period piece when I started. I typically don't like those type of novels but this happened to be a surprise and rather good Great loves story and great characters.

Riley Ledger is the sheriff's daughter, wishes she was born a boy, and would rather read than anything else. She is also feisty and as stubborn as anything. Her family appear to be ashamed of her and there seems no hope of marrying her off.

Then she comes across Reese Hemingway: attractive, rich, and everything Riley hates in the male species. He seems interested in Riley and her family think their prayers have been answered. However their first encounter does not go well and Reese goes to slap her for ignoring him (her book was more interesting) and she is saved from the slap by Scott Lucas, wanted criminal and man who is determined never to fall in love.

Riley is intrigued by Scott but that turns to hate when he kidnaps her for money. Will her family pay the ransom or will she be abandoned somewhere?

This was a lovely story of a story set in the wild west that you can imagine happening for real. The story was well told and I could definitely sense and feel the thoughts and emotions involved in the story.

Wanted By You. I was given this book in exchange for a review and I'm glad I did. It was my first western and it didn't disappoint me at all.

The storyline and the characters just clicked with me. I just loved how feelings got involved and just changed the whole initial plan. Made me laugh and feel so much even though it was originally meant to be a kidnapping yet love came into the mix and complicated the whole thing.

Just goes to show that love is never planned and can happen at the most inconvenient time. Yet it turns you into a better person and helps you realise that it takes that one special person to change your opinion of yourself.

This was a fun western to read. Riley feels that she does not fit in, that she should have been a male. She meets Scott who makes her feel very female. Problem: he is a criminal. He kidnaps her and while on the run they fall in love. Scott is a product of the time but he is very much the gentleman when it comes to Riley. I rooted for them to realize their feelings and to have their HEA although it is not quite the typical ending. I recommend this story.

I was given this story in exchange for an honest review.

Riley, a cowboy (girl).

Riley was raised by the town sheriff, her father. Between his attitude that she was a problem daughter and his attempts to marry her off, Riley wanted out. Being a rebel by refusing to marry someone just to please her father, Riley was looking for a different adventure. Scott is a wanted man with a secret who steals not only Riley but her heart. A cute story about seeking oneself and love. The story has a western setting, adding an outdoor theme to the setting. I received this book free and I am submitting an honest review.

No. This is not a story. These are words written to make a sale. A well brought up young woman in the west, with a wealthy father who is also the sheriff does not go to a saloon to play the piano. Nor does her sister accompany her just to listen to her play. She does not sneak out to walk with a wanted kidnapper/ murder to a brothel. Spoiler alert: this is not a western romance.

This was one of the best western romance books I have read in a while! The characters were all perfect, whether good or bad, you felt what they were portraying. Scott Lucas is the outlaw every girl can fall for. My heart went out to Riley. It brought me to tears and had me laughing out loud. Great book! Provided by author in exchange for an honest review.

Sassy adventure

Rileys pension for adventure proves to put her in situations that teach. That is until Scott Lucas. He becomes hero kidnapper and love in one short evening.
