I read The Christmas Gift in an anthology of short stories Eyes to See. That introduced me to Helen Norris. I found this book used at Better World Books. I am glad to own it because I will want to read it again. I am overwhelmed with the beauty of the story of a minister who breaks open his soul because of a little lost boy who finds his way into his bell tower.

"God himself lived this life I live and made it holy. And at once a door opened in the wall of his life, and he walked through it into the open." "This is my body which is broken for you. ..There is no common bread...All bread is holy. All things are holy."

So this is a Christmas story too.

Shelving this for now (on page 53 of 124). Too deep psychologically for what I'm needing right now.

Some parts were very touching, but it was overall confusing and I don't think I got it.
