The face that launched a thousand ships...

I grew up knowing my destiny. Daddy pounded it in my head, my brother repeated it every day of my life. I was the only daughter of the Orsi crime syndicate, the pretty prize that would bring peace. My one job was to marry Callum Sheehan, the vicious head of the Irish mob in Chicago.
I never questioned my future–until I saw him.

Say the word “retelling” and I’m pretty much convinced I’m going to enjoy the book. And I’d never read a retelling of the Helen of Troy story before, so I was really looking forward to this one. I thought this was an entertaining take on the original tale – a bit of a guilty pleasure read, but pleasurable all the same!

What Fed My Addiction:

It’s a retelling!
I thought that Andrews had a fantastic concept – reimagining

I've got to get this out of the way first - yes it does contain cheating. you can't really have a re-imagining of Helen and Paris without it really if you think about it logically. As that is exactly the impetus for the Trojan War after all, Helen running away with Paris and leaving the King of Sparta. see I've done my homework, gone on admit your impressed ;) Normally, cheating would be a definite no-go for me. HOWEVER, in some respects, it's easy to overlook when you consider Ileana has been ...more

I received an ecopy in exchange for an honest review. Review can be found on *Milky Way of Books*

Nazarea Andrews is one of the authors who can jump from genre to genre and still write stories that captivate you in every way. Combining mythology with the dark world of Mafia is also a new style I've never seen so far in the books I've read.

"Stardust Destiny" is a retelling of Helen of Troy but in the present with conspiracies and danger. Ileana and Paris is a couple which I fear too much. I don't

“Can we leave everything in here? Who we are, why we’re here. Everything but,” she glances at me, “us?”
“What were you running from, in the club?”
“Reality,” she says, softly and my heart hurts.
She sounds so damn sad. “Just us, pretty girl.”

When I came across the blurb for this book I was intrigued, I liked the idea of doing a modern take

I have no idea how many people have read this book, but I do know it's not enough. Why is everybody not reading this incredible author??? You can guarantee that as soon as I pick up one of Nazarea Andrews books, I will be lost until I turn that final page.

She constantly has me hooked in every world she creates, every story she retells, and every word she writes. I completely devoured Stardust Destiny in one sitting, and it felt so good!!

I would love to say it was a great retelling, but I've

As soon as I saw this gorgeous cover and read that blurb I knew I had to get my hands on Nazarea Andrews' Stardust Destiny! Seriously, A modern erotic retelling of Helen of Troy, and the epic love that brought an empire to its knees. And a mafia book to boot! I just knew I was in for a treat!

I was drawn into Nazarea's writing right from the start. But let me also be candid and get all of your pesky hot buttons dealt with from the get-go. YES there IS cheating. Dude, this is a retelling of the

There are days when I watch a “Walking Dead” episode and find myself thinking, “Eh, it could have used more Daryl, Rick, and zombies to make this episode better.” Or, I’ll find myself reading a book and think, “Well, it was a good plot but it could have been executed better.” But I have never (NEVER!) walked away from a Nazarea Andrews book without being in a state of wonderment regarding everything that I had just read. 5 Stars.

Let me just start by saying that this genre was not my thing, well, so I thought. When I read the blurb, I had high expectations. I am huge Roman/ Greek history buff/nerd and I love all the stories, both from mythology and wars, especially the Athenian battles, and who could forget the Aeneid by Virgil. I also want to mention that I rooted for Hector in the original story, and never in a million years I would have changed my mind. Like I said, I had

I love mob stories. I LOVED the Sopranos, I love reading books about Al Capone, and any book with a mob theme (especially if it includes a love story) in general. I am convinced I was a gangster in a former life.
I'm serious.
I also LOVE retellings. Ten Things I Hate About You is one of my favorite movies ever. I love everything by Gregory Maguire. Wicked, the book and musical, I adore. I devoured the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer.
Stardust Destiny is a retelling of Helen of Troy. In a modern,

"I need to wash off the feel of him" says Ileana. The feelings and emotions run high in this re-telling of the Helen of Troy. N keeps your suspense and attention on high even though you might be familiar with the story plot. Ileana and Paris are the couple you have been waiting to read about. N's ability to maintain complex characters throughout the storytelling is a talent above the rest.

I love books that reimagine old stories, I'm the girl who likes fairytales retold, or modern day retellings of Shakespeare. But this book super intrigued me because I've never read a retelling Helen of Troy, so I was really excited about this book. I have to say if you don't read anymore of the review, just know that I really loved it, and my biggest complaint is having to wait for book two to come out in few

An easy, fast and enjoyable story! Not being familiar with the Helen of Troy story, I was able to enjoy the plot line. I never can seem to pass up a mafia, romeo/juliet storyline.

An Italian mafia princess from Miami, Ileana, is being forced to marry an Irish mob boss from Chicago, Callan, to form an alliance between all the mob families, but yet she falls in love with someone else. What throws a kicker in the story is that her husband, although feared among

STARDUST DESTINY is Nazarea Andrews retelling of the story of Helen of Troy. The woman who's face launched a thousand ships and caused a huge war. Except in this telling, the story involves the mob and not the Greek Gods.

Ileana is the beautiful daughter used as a pawn in an attempt to keep piece among the major crime families across the globe. Paris is the second son of a Mexican drug cartel

One of my favorite myths/stories is about Helen of Troy and the Trojan Horse, so I was keen on reading this ARC as soon as it was presented to me. At first I felt a little lost in the beginning because Ileana's story isn't completely told. We are just led to believe she is crazy without giving a reason why. As the story furthers on we eventually find out why she isn't completely sane, but I felt like I was grasping for straws before the story was told. Truth be told, I feel it should have been ...more

Nazarea Andrews is an avid reader and tends to write the stories she wants to read. She loves chocolate and coffee almost as much as she loves books, but not quite as much as she loves her kids. She lives in south Georgia with her husband, daughters, and overgrown dog.
