Rarely do books make me laugh out loud, but this one did. It’s a bit naughty, a bit silly, a lot politically incorrect and would make very little sense at all to anyone who’s never heard of ‘Allo ‘Allo! A childhood favourite, I recall watching many an episode of the series with my mum, so it has a special place in my heart. We both used to be crying with laughter when Officer Crabtree turned up with his ‘are we aloon, I wash to tick with you’ shenanigans! Three stars for the book as I enjoyed it but admittedly towards the end it became a bit samey with the usual dodgy double entendres and daft scenarios. I had a great time at Cafe Rene, it was a fun trip down memory lane!

Nice little book, containing a number of the storylines from the television series. Got a few laughs out of it, but didn't split my sides.

This was on the bookshelf of our rented villa in the Dordogne this summer. Thought it would be good to catch up on some authentic WWII French history while in situ.
