The Inn is run by the Tyler family along with their pets Leopold, the Macaw; Fuzzy and Furry, the gerbils; dogs Dash and Coco; felines Shadow and Whiskers.

The Tyler animals are convinced a pirate with a glittering treasure is visiting the Animal Inn. Will the animals have to walk the plank in order to survive? Arghhh!

This is the only book that I have read in this series. It is cute, if a bit loose in terms of the plot. I love the family and how the characters interact.

Kiddo still really enjoys, but in some spots the authors are using the exact same sentences from the first book to describe very similar actions/plots/scenes. I'm going to grow tired of this much faster than the kid.

Ein weiteres tierisches Abenteuer erwartet Dix und seine Freunde im Tierhotel Fellnase. Obwohl die Geschichte viele Parallelen zum ersten Teil aufweist, war die Spannung, welches Tier diesmal als Gast erwartet wird, wieder genauso groß wie die Überraschung bei der Auflösung am Ende des Buches. Falls die Serie fortgesetzt wird, sollte der Autor allerdings ein paar neue Ideen einbringen, sonst droht das Schema auf Dauer langweilig zu werden - zumindest für die großen Vorleser...

I love these Animal Inn chapter books. The animals and children who live at Animal Inn are concerned when they hear a pirate is coming! Why would a pirate come to Animal Inn. Funny and charming personalities and antics will engage young animals fans. I can't wait for the next book.
