Blurbed by Björk, my new favorite board book MUSIC IS... which features delightful bold bright illustrations that introduce children to all the many styles and delights of music. Buy this for your littlest audiophiles.

Music Is . . .” by Brandon Stosuy not only shares the incredible diversity of music, but it also reveals its universal appeal. Moreover, readers may learn some new musical terms, like “lo-fi”, “hi-fi”, “fuzzy guitar”, and “clean guitar”. Additionally, Amy Martin's illustrations are cheerful and pleasant, making for a very enjoyable read.

A great book to learn about the qualities of music and opposites. Great illustrations with diverse people and very colorful.

This book may be better as a picture book, seems a bit old for the board book crowd. But hopefully they'll enjoy it too.

A great, simple board book that talks about all the different kinds of music through opposites (loud, soft, happy, sad). Short sentences, introduces some new vocabulary (though I had no idea what "lo-fi" and "hi-fi" were, haha), and , bright illustrations!

As joyful, varied, and colorful as music itself.

Bold, bright and fun for children. It caught and kept my baby's attention, and I look forward to the kinds of conversations about music it will spur in future readings.

This is such a cool book for kids! It has some great representation both in culture and race, and it covers a whole gambit of music types!

I like this book because this is about music and there's all different kinds of ways of music in this book. But NOT opera! And NO rock-and-roll, really.

I like so many things about this book--the illustrations, the multi-cultural cast, the mini glossary at the back--but it just didn't end up engaging the attention of the toddlers in my storytime.

Fantastic book to introduce very young children to the joy of music!

A great book about music. Music covers a range of styles and moods. I wish this was a picture book instead of a board book!

So happy to discover this gem of a book, gifted to my baby by a fellow library student/storytime reader. Beautiful illustrations with diverse representations, this is truly a nonfiction book highlighting different musical instruments and the joys of music. The back also provides definitions of musical terms mentioned in the book so I learned something new too! Definitely a book that older children can appreciate too - my hope is that is comes in other formats besides board book in the future.
