The monsters in this story get into a fight because Nelson's dog eats the Thorndike's slipper. Asher didn't really like all the fighting in it - which mainly involved playing mean pranks on each other. But in the end, the monsters made up and set things right.

Great illustrations.

Note: About six months after our first review we checked this book out again. Asher enjoyed it much more at almost 5 years old than he did at an early 4 years old. We've awarded it another star.

I didn't really like this book showing how two friends were willing to destroy each other's property before they made up rather than take some other tack to discuss their feelings. But they were monsters, I guess...
