Ten Thousand Words is my first Kelli Jean book, but I know I’ll be reading more by this author in the future! I really enjoyed this one. Jean's writing is fantastic and I loved that Xanthe and Oliver’s love story wasn’t the same old same old. It’s a beautiful love story between an author who is unique and quirky and a gorgeous bearded photographer/model. The pair starts out as an unlikely couple, but they couldn’t be more right for one another.

I loved this couple together. I loved

First and foremost Kelli Jean is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I love reading and most books, but there is something so unique about her writing. I love the way she tells a story and makes you feel it.

Xanthe is a famous author and while when I manage being successful at something you love is the greatest accomplish, she is struggling. She is struggling with the stigma that comes from the type of stories she writes. She is struggling with people accepting her. She is struggling wi

Xanthe is a 29 year old author from Amsterdam who's heading in New York in a book signing. She has signed up with Dreamstone Publishing, after being self published so far and she now has to show up to promote her books with their new covers. Covers that have Oliver Fairfax on them.

Oliver is actually a photographer in Amsterdam and when the publishing house reached out to him, he was excited. Until they told him that they needed him as a cover model and not for his photography skills. Alt

This is a story about an independent paranormal romance writer that gets picked up by a large publishing company. On her way to New York for a book signing, she literally gets run down by the man she typecast for the Hero of her series. He just happens to not know who she is and when he starts talking to her about the author of the book and how she must be crazy (which she is just a bit touchy about), she decides to NOT give him her pen name. Unfortunately, they both start falling for

This is one of those profound books that takes your breathe away. A totally new author for me, and I've sworn to try some new authors this year. Although Kelli Jean isn't new she is to me. Sometimes I like to read smutty reads, other times I love to read short and sweet reads, I can enjoy angsy reads and then there are times I want PURE GOLD, a book that takes me places, tak

Kelli Jean did it again.. she completely stole my heart with her Nola's Own series ( If you've not read that series, you are totally missing out on one of the most amazing book couples ever) but she managed to do the same thing with Ten Thousand Words.

Xanthe Malcolm is a beautiful woman with a huge heart surrounded by one of the best group of friends, a furry assassin, and a hilarious aunt ( her aunt had me snot cry laughing several times). Bu

I absolutely hate it when a friend recommends a book to me, one she loves so much, and I just can't seem to like it. #coneofshame. Sorry Katy.

Ten Thousand Words is the story of a quirky paranormal-romance author who falls for her book cover model, photographer, Oliver. The first third of the book I really was into. I liked how they met and how she chose to not disclose her pen name. It was cute watching him talk about this author he's modeling for when he has no clue it's HER.

Ten Thousand Words isn't your typical love story.
The characters are unique, the situations Xanthe and Ollie find themselves in are funny, heartwarming, gut-wrenching and sometimes just plain beautiful. There's also a dose of mystery woven into the pages of this book that you don't see very often. This IS NOT a boy meets girl, boy chases girl, boy gets girl kind of story and I absolutely LOVED that.

Actually, it's why I love Kelli Jean's stories so much. They're original and they instantly suck

Nothing sexier than a man with a beard but when he wears suspenders and looks sexy, that's on a whole new level of sexy. These two hard heads fought constantly about everything. Oliver was so jealous and hot tempered and Xanthe was mellow but she could get back at him. I really enjoyed it though at times Oliver did get on my nerves. He was very " judgey " at times. The friendships that they had were great and I loved the close bonds they had.

Xanthe definitely had a troublesome past but She was

There is something so special about Kelli Jean. Nothing within her stories or about her characters is ordinary. She has yet to stay between the lines and each time she delivers both powerful and profound love stories.

It is hard to accurately put down the feeling that I get when I get pulled into a book by this author as my first experience, NOLA’s Own, took me out of my comfort zone into a mystic realm of love. Just when I thought I could not be more moved, Kelli Jean writes

Once again Kelli Jean creates a world that many will want to live in. In this new series we meet a whole new set of awesome characters. Xanthe is this cool author who surrounds herself with lifelong friends who would and has done unthinkable things for her.

Her best friends Jaime, Ricki, and Ronen crack me up! I laughed at almost every mention of them. They are definitely people I would love to have my back and hang out with in real life. Oliver Fairfax is this smoking hot, sophisticated man who

This is the first book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. The characters and story were really unique. It was different than I was expecting (view spoiler). I loved the characters, the humor and the romance was really sweet (and hot!) Looking forward to reading more by this author.

It was difficult for me to start this book as the writing style, genre where the complete opposite of the book that I’d read before. I even gave the opportunity to sleep on the finished book before starting the new one. Still tough though. After my half hour tram journey to work I was still unsure but on my lunch break which was longer than I intended it to be, which I do most of the time. Psst, it’s a

Overall Opinion: This is a tough one to rate. Did I enjoy it? Yes for the first part, but there were so many things thrown into the story in the second half that I felt like the author was just marking off a check list...(only click tag if you really want it spoiled)

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, which licked me immediately.

Xanthe, which I pronounced numerous ways in numerous voices throughout, is a paranormal erotic romance author, who writes under the pen name of Elaine H. Ford. She’s heading to NY from her hometown of Amsterdam, for a book signing. She is due to be joined by her latest cover model, who she had picked as a precise match for her fiction hero, Donovan Colt.

There was a lot I liked about this book, and a lot I didn't. It started rough, I enjoyed the middle, and then I disliked the end.

I'm a sample reader. If I don't like the sample, I don't remark on the book at all. I mean, I didn't read it, so why would I critique it? This book by Kelli Jean was the rare book that I bought without reading the sample by a new-to-me author. I must have been intrigued by the blurb ("reclusive author" was likely the bait that hooked me),

This was the first book I've read from this author, and considering how much I enjoyed this story, it won't be the last.

It had eveything I like in a book... instalust, sexy times, drama, angst, strong main characters, chemistry, suspense, mystery, etc.

Xanthe was an interesting character. She was strong, feisty, intelligent, independent, fiercely loyal, sexy, and cool. Oliver, although he was a tad younger (26 to her 29), was handsome, smart, gifted, loyal, sweet, considerate, protective, and ver

The beginning of this book was so good like top 3 best books of this year, sadly way too good to be true.

The last half of this book was stupid, terrible, unnecessary, confusing, and just overall WTF.
I am not even kidding when I tell you that this author threw about 20 different things out of thin air in the last half of this book.

I suggest reading the first 100-160 pages and then when you see what I mean, STOP and make your own ending up.

Alright, this is going to be a loaded review, but I'm going to try to keep it as light as possible. It boils down to one simple fact: I did not like this.

This story started out with so much potential, the first chapter brought TEARS to my eyes. It began by using a sort of mixed-media approach in the form of an essay for a final exam, to reveal the female lead, Xanthe’s, family history. Xanthe's loss felt palpable. As a result, she struggled with depression, which was discussed, and she began use

I was kindly provided an ARC copy by the author in exchange for an honest review. This is my first Kelli Jean book and I was pleasantly surprised! Author falls in love with the model on the cover of her book. If that’s not a great premise I don’t know what is.

Ollie was a local socialite, and his face being on the cover of a book had Amsterdam buzzing. No one paid attention to me. No one even knew I lived in the same city as the man who represented my heart’s secret hero. And I was totally cool

Oliver, the hero, is absolutely fucking hot. There’s no other way to say it. With his beard and his strong build, he’s a real looker. He’s temperamental and hot blooded and possessive. A down right alpha male, if you ask me. It’s been a while since I’ve read about such an amazing alpha male, let me tell you that. He isn’t afraid of going after what he wants and will stop at nothing to make it his. He’s also an amazing freakin’ kisser a

Ten Thousand Words is my first book by Kelli Jean. The blurb intrigued me and I just had to read the whole book, to read about Xanthe, Oliver, and the plot twist. The book took me by surprise. I adore the author’s writing style, the realness of the book, and I will definitely pick up other books written by Kelli Jean.
