This was quite a tearful page turner at times.

We have this lovely woman here who has children, married and finds out she has a brain tumor.

This book lends us, the reader, part of her past leading up to where we find her today: surrounded by the people she loves and who love her in her final days.

I can't really say much more about the story as I don't want to give spoilers away, it was hard reading at times as it can become quite depressing. For me it was, b/>

I was immediately drawn to One Summer Night by Emily Bold. The cover looks bright and uplifting whereas the blurb tells a much sadder story, so I was intrigued about how exactly the story inside would unfold. Now I’ve read the book, I think that the contrasting cover and blurb perfectly represent the mix of emotions I was feeling with every page. The main character may have a terminal illness, and the author’s writing doesn’t skirt around the harsh realities of living with such an illness but at

What a lovely story a hard subject but very well written, I loved the characters. We have four main characters Lauren and Tim and their children Mia (in her teens and starting her puberty mood swings) and Alyssa (5yrs old).
The book starts at Alyssa's 5th birthday party preparations but then jumps back in time and into a style of writing that tells individual sections of the events leading up to that birthday party and how the family have had to deal with a devastating diagnosis that would

Inhalt:

Lauren will Abschied nehmen und schart da

Have the Kleenex box handy because you'll cry and laugh reading this book. Lauren has the perfect life, loving husband, 2 beautiful daughters, loving parents and family. When a doctor tells her she has a terminal brain tumor she tries to fight with all she has but it's too much and she decides to die with dignity when she chooses. Her family has a hard time understanding, especially her oldest daughter but they come to support her. Beautifully written, so real they could be the family next door, ...more

I was given an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest and independent review.
Lauren is diagnosed with a brain tumour. Her perfect life is shattered. But as she surrounds herself with her family and friends, she looks back on her life telling her story and she reflects on the meaning of life.
Beautifully honest, passionate and moving this book brought tears to my eyes. An excellent read. 5***** for me.

"Beautiful, thought provoking and a real tear jerker"
What would you do if you were told you only had months to live? Live each day as your last, let the illness take over or fight? Lauren decides to take charge of her life and also her death. This story flits between the current day and Lauren's life story. The pain, the sadness, the happy times, the beautiful memories!
This book will leave you crying at the end!!!

I loved this book, being a big fan of 'me before you' too. Imagine having the perfect husband, 2 gorgeous children, and loving family and friends, and then finding out you are terminally ill. How would you deal with it? What if you knew that you were going to be in pain, confused, and may not recognise your loved ones? The story is told in flash back, and is very moving, and makes you think "what would I do?" Highly recommended.

Heart wrenching and emotional read with lots of tissues at the ready. What do you do when faced with a terminal diagnosis when you have everything to live for? The story told from Lauren's viewpoint about the events in her life leading up to her diagnosis and the way she and her family cope and make decisions after. Extremely well written which draws you in and makes you feel and care so much for the characters. I'm so glad I was given the opportunity to read this by Netgalley.

I found this was well written but unfortunately this wasn't a story for me. For me you read a book to give you a good feeling, I really appreciate that there are people out there that have gone through what the story is written about but it wasn't for me, I prefer more escapism in a book. I wouldn't have wanted to put myself in the place of either main character.

An interesting read, but did not see the point in going back and forward in time line, as did not add to the story and they affected the flow. Worth a read though.
