Sorority Saint: Domination and Dance Collide

Rate this book
NOTE FROM THE DOM, JASON DELANEY: I know I’m sexy. It’s why they come to me, hunt me down, beg so sweetly. Be my pirate. Be my daddy. Be my prince. For some reason, she doesn’t beg, even though she kinda sorta wants to—Shayna, that self-righteous, prissy little saint with ballerina grace. After I tend to the sorority girl when she’s mugged at the BDSM club where I’m a House Dom, she agrees to dance in my jazz-rock video in exchange for me teaching her the ins and outs of Dominance and submission that she’s oh-so curious about. Oh, I’ll teach her all right. But I wanna tick her off first. Her fury’s just as sexy as her splits. She fights me, goes toe-to-toe, gets hot, but she lets the angel on her shoulder govern her every move and keep her from knowing erotic bliss. I just know a naughty devil’s in there. And I’m gonna free hers, then tie it up and spank it and drive it wild with savage lust so it has the drive to duke it out with the haloed thrill-robber who’s held the victor’s belt for way too long. My money’s on the bad girl.

Will I go to Hell for corrupting a saint? Don’t know. But after she dove into her panties and showed me those glossy fingers upon command when she should’ve slapped me instead, I’d gladly take on any inferno to find out just how naughty and subalicious she truly is. And I will, provided we don’t kill each other first with our verbal daggers or gropey hands.

This was entirely a “fun” book. For me it wasn’t logical or really believable (hence the 3 stars), but still enjoyable and entertaining (hence the 3 stars).

In this book we meet sorority saint Shayna, and bad boy “perceived player”, Jason. Jason agrees to give Shayna some lessons in BDSM if she in turn will pose and dance for his music video since she’s a ballet dancer. Jason wants there to be some bondage but wants a girl that can comfortably get into positions that would normally be uncomfortable to basically everyone.

Right from the get go are made ultimately aware of how religious and, honestly, judgmental Shayna is. She’s done a couple things that she feels terrible about and wonders if an honest to god spanking would help her feel better about her misdeeds. Thus she finds herself at the BDMS club that Jason works at. This is when we find out they have an unknown history and don’t exactly like each other. Events happen and Shayna ends up staying at Jason’s house while the police are tracking down someone that mugged Shayna (she doesn’t feel comfortable going home). Since Jason is getting a full week off work they both figure this is the best time to exchange services. Also, since it’s only a week, they won’t need to worry about being around each other too long.

Here are some things I had a hard time with in this book:

-Shayna remains a virgin and believes in waiting till she’s married to have sex, but is more than willing to do everything under the sun as long as her hymen doesn’t break. The thing is that she’s never had any experience with any of this stuff before, so I found it totally unbelievable that she would all of the sudden be totally ok with all the non-sex sexual stuff that her and Jason participate in. Especially considering how judgmental she remains through almost the entire book.

-Some of the wording was way too flowery for me. Not to say that others won’t enjoy it, but Jason didn’t really strike me as someone who would think so purple in their inner thoughts. It just didn’t ring true to me. On the flip side, you don’t really get that at all from Shayna.

- Just didn’t buy into that.

Although I’ve complained about how quickly Shayna is ok with everything (minus sex), I actually really did enjoy the sexy times scenes in this book. Those and the awesome scenes having to do with the music videos, were my favorite parts of the book. The way the music video that Jason does is described actually really makes me wish it were a real music video I could watch. The concept behind it, and the execution, seem like they would actually be really beautiful.

I would definitely read this author again, but probably only when I’m in that mood for something that’s just fun and entertaining. There is some angst in this story but it is fairly quickly resolved (considering the whole story took place within a week).

I received a copy of this story for free from the author, via the Goodreads BDSM TPE Bar, in exchange for my honest review.

I liked this book, even though I found the male Jason, lead fairly difficult to get my head around.
I’m not sure if it was just that he was being obstinate or whether I was …but he was hard work initially, I had to dig deep just to find the will to actually continue but I am glad I did because while I am still not his very biggest fan he did sort of redeem himself.
Jason was a Dom, one of the best and he knew it, he was the go to get in the club and he revelled in that knowledge but that was right up until Shayna, because when she appeared in the club, she was a conundrum that he found awkward, she may have said one thing but her body language was telling him something completely different.
When the author added Shayna into the mix and I was completely confused, the woman didn’t seem to know what the heck she wanted, I mean honestly you can’t exactly dip your toe into the BDSM scene and still remain virtuous…???? I had the feeling that she was going to have to let herself if she was ever to understand who she really was.
But when she is mugged, Jason steps in and agrees to teach her everything she has ever thought about, and some that she hadn’t!
So who will win this battle for Shayna’s soul, I know who I have my money on and it isn’t her!
Their relationship is a battle of wills and it is one that a girl like Shayna no matter how tough she seems to think she is will never win, Jason is every inch the dominant man and he will not let a mere slip of a girl to top him, not a hope in hell!!
But I suppose I learnt one thing while reading this, try not to input my own reasoning into a story because every single time, I get my ass handed to me on a plate!
By the end of this sizzling read, I had warmed somewhat to both Jason and Shayna.

This was definitely a change in the bdsm genre for me.

With a name like Sorority Saint, it should have clued me into the age the main character was but of course I overlooked that.
The characters were on a different level for me yet I still found the heat levels acceptable and the ending very fulfilling.

Most of the book I found Jason to be an arrogant, self absorbed jerk. Even though he had skills, I have never read a book where the Dom behaved in such a manner with his sub. As appealing as certain aspects are I'm not sure how much of his arrogance I would have tolerated.

When Shayna went looking for help in learning about bdsm in order to learn more about herself, I found that aspect of the story my focus. Her character has strength and determination along with the need to learn and balance the person she was raised to be but felt she was so much more than that.
The reason I gave this a four star was that I found the banter or better the way Jason verbalized his demands and orders to Shayna a bit immature. Maybe it's because I'm comparing him to all the Doms I've experienced before. This talk was not sexy. I can't find the words to explain it but maybe it didn't flow with me because I'm of an older generation. Either way....the over all book an story was very enjoyable and explosively hot at times. I will say that the last fourth of the book was fantastic. Everything was explained and Jason showed his true face which was more appealing. Would I read more from this author? YES! I just have to compartmentalize my mind and remember that this author has her own way of expressing her Dom's demands.

I liked the story. Liked how Jason met Shayna. Shayna was being mugged in front if Jason club. She was an innocent ballerina who wanted to learn the BDSM world. Jason was a Dom and wiling to teach her. I enjoyed these two cockiness and bratty attitudes when they are together. The story picked up near the end. Very sexy and erotic.

This was my first book by Daizie. I enjoyed the back and forth banter between Jason and Shayna. It was a quick read with things moving vastly paced between them. A lot of hot scenes and finished with a nice happy ending.

When Jason, a brash and cocky musician and house Dom, comes to the aid of Shayna, a shy, conservative dancer who's mugged outside the BDSM club where he works, he offers to scratch her curious itch and teach all her about the body-and-soul-pleasing world of kink and domination in exchange for her dancing in his music video. The sparks their opposite proclivities ignite become too blazing-hot for them to squelch. But being as different as napalm is to oatmeal, or a devil, an angel, indulging in their passion just might destroy them both.

If you're looking for that one book that will make you want to scream out loud in frustration simply because you know one or both characters are the type that gets to you on such a level because you might know someone like them, then Daizie Draper's Sorority Saint is perfect. Jason is the type of man that I'd come to describe as arrogant, self-centered and a bit of a douchebag, but to 'help' matters, he's also an all around House Dom, his redeeming quality, which, personally, forgives the overbearing ones, is his protective nature that saved Shayna from an attack at the BDSM Club. On the flip side, Shayna is as much a mystery as Jason is - her innocence makes her an easy target for the Dom's wanting to take advantage of her and yet, she has all the makings of a 's*ẍ kitten', or at least her body language does. The hilariority of it all is the chemistry between these two is through the roof and makes them continuously argue and butt heads for one reason or another. It's not the first time I've heard of Daizie Draper, I'll admit I've followed her since the holidays, and I'm overly glad I did because the differences and improvements (and yes, even the naughty factor) have sky rocketed. Frankly, I can't wait for the next release and Sorority Saint has me looking at House Doms and hidden 's*ẍ kittens' from a different point of view.

PLOT: 5/5
CHEMISTRY: 5/5
PACING: 5/5
ENDING: 5/5
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: 5/5

The temptation is almost more than Dom Jason Delaney can resist. Shayna is new to the BDSM scene. While she has a basic idea of what she is looking for, Jason is ready to show the feisty young girl what the lifestyle is all about.

In Sorority Saint: Domination and Dance Collide, author Daizie Draper introduces two characters who give new meaning to verbal warfare. There’s nothing Jason likes better than to push Shayna’s buttons, but she’s too inexperienced to enjoy the process.

The basic premise centers around an agreement between the two. Jason agrees to teach Shayna about BDSM if she will dance in his music video. What ensues is a fiery exchange as Shayna lets her naughty side come out to play.

While the concept sounded good, I found myself struggling to bond with the characters. I found Shayna to be somewhat annoying, especially with her conversations with Jason. Although this is definitely an erotic story, the heat level seemed a bit forced and unnatural. As a result, the story seemed somewhat superficial without a fully developed storyline.

I didn’t feel that Jason was able to fully shine as a Dom. His comments didn’t quite mesh with the portrayal of his character, which detracted from his performance. My expectation for a naughty read was fulfilled, but more practical dialog would have been welcomed.

Let me just start out saying I LOVED THIS BOOK! Shayna, a young college student is trying to test the waters of the BDSM world and is attacked outside the Sex Club she is going to for the first time. Jason Delaney, the House Dom is a ego-maniacal douche bag, SEX GOD who cleans her up after the incident. But these two have met before, on a date a few months back and things did not go well. So with things already off to a rocky start he offers her a place to stay for the week for her safety and a gig dancing in one of his music videos.
Jason shows Shayna the roles of the Master/Submissive but Shayna is a virgin waiting for marriage. So it seems anything is on the table but sex. Which for Jason gets extremely frustrating. Shayna experiences pleasure she has never felt before and soon the sparks start flying and feelings start to get involved. This is something neither one of them expected or wants.
This was a great read. I couldn't put it down. It made me laugh with their back and forth banter. The sex scenes were hot and weren't over analyzed. It was sweet, frustrating, and passionate. I would definitely read more from this author.
I received this as an ARC for my honest review.

Shayna is the good girl that wants to let go and explore her bad side. She's mugged outside a club and so sets in motion her journey. Out of the hundreds of books I've read this was the first one I wanted to DNF. I was struggling at 10%. But I agreed to review it and I powered through. I thought the story had potential but there were too many things that made it hard to focus. Shayna knows Jason from campus, they apparently hate each other but for no reason that's really explained. They have a strong distaste for each other yet she lets him dominate her within hours. The book is in major need of a good edit. The grammatical mistakes made me continually read sentences over & over to try to make sense out of it. My biggest issue was with the over description of sex &/or genitalia. A few new clever adjectives would have been fine but most were cringe worthy....sugar trickled from the tiny fountain, her juicy fruit, liquid sputtered out of her urethra. NO. JUST. NO. My favorite part of the book were the last two chapters because no sex, no gross descriptions and it really focused on Shayna and Jason.

I received this ARC from the Author through the BDSM Group on Goodreads with the promise of an honest review.

They make an agreement after meeting, again, at the club to help each other. Shayna's afraid to be alone at her apartment after being attacked outside the club, he beat her, stole her keys & wallet, she's all shook up. Jason understands & thinks they can help each other. She wants to learn about BDSM & he needs a dancer for his music video, he loves how she moves, so she stays at his place for the weekend.

Ok so she's young, but you don't think of her that way. She's a college student who's bratty, intelligent, religious & wants to save herself, beautiful, & a dancer who's full of passion. He's arrogant, cocky, sought after by all the subs at the club, & oh yes he's also very handsome! They trigger a lot in each other. He loves starting a bratty, arrogant argument, & getting Shayna angry enough to react to his music. It's a BDSM themed song telling of the passion in a scene. And man, they are passionate!!

3.5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!!!

This was a HOT read! I really didn't care for Jason. He honestly got on my nerves. I wanted reach into my kindle and smack him upside the head at times. However, he grew on me at the end. He redeemed himself after handling the wedding debacle and all the other stuff horribly. Shayna had me all over the place. She was a walking contradiction. She wants to explore her sexuality and BDSM but still remain pure. I just didn't get that. I guess I'm just black and white when it comes to that. It's one or the other. Like Jason, I started to really like her toward the end.
I'm waffling on a definitive rating. There were some parts that deserve 3 or less stars but others that were definitely worthy of 4. Overall I would have to give it a solid 3.5 stars being as the story dragged a bit at the beginning but did come together in the end and I liked how things turned out for Jason and Shayna.

Wow!!!!!! Just finished reading and don't know where to begin! Although Sorority Saint started out a little slow for me, I think it had to in order to show the natural progression of the heroine's (Shayna) internal battles. Shayna is struggling with who she is sexually. She knows that something is missing and thinks BDSM is what she needs. In comes Jason. He's a dom, cocky and closed off to all women. They come to an agreement to help his career and help her explore her sexuality. It was a steamy treat to watch Shayna and Jason grow. I liked having both perspectives to see how each was struggling and then watch them come together whole. The book and struggles seemed to progress naturally and wasn't rushed or unrealistic like some other reads! I received an ARC for my honest review.

I received an ARC copy of Sorority Saint: Domination and Dance Collide for an honest review.
Hot and sexy with an innocent overtone.
Old acquaintances re-meet under unfortunate circumstances which in turn leads to an intriguing foray into the BDSM world. Innocence and Domination knowledge collide and sparks fly.

ARC Review

This story brought back lots of fond (not) memories of my own experiences with my children's birth. It was very relatable. Gloria's experience was quite dramatic. There was no end of suspense in this book. I had a tear running down my face for most of this book. I loved it.

well not sure what to think. the book is very detailed and for what it covers that is a good thing. as for the story it self at times it seemed weak but as it went on it did get stronger. i will say that the surprised drunk wedding was a good twist and a great way to get the characters to confess to their feelings. over all it was a good book and i look froward to reading more
