Few Spoilers.
Wow like I knew that was going to happen in the end. A lot of people are hard headed. Don't realize they can change once they get out revenge ain't everything. Karma can always bite the person in the a.hole. When the time comes Corey was so young so was Omar. That is crazy. Especially Corey he had a good life until he let the drug dealing take over his life. I think if he would've listened to Tate he would've been still alive. And I think a lot of teenagers need to read this book a

Good read ,
believable characters with the type of parents Corey had I felt he had no other choice but to win, but his environment and the lack of hands-on guidance made that hard. Some stuff he did didn't even need to happen or be done. I felt like Corey was like Wallace from the Wire he was a good dude he just learned how to be bad. . . Shannon Holmes is such a good writer ! ! ! he should've been wrote his own tv series or asked to write for Power !!!!

Recommends it for: people interested in racism, the American criminal justice system, and social justice.
Things I Learned: Don't do or sell drugs. You'll end up dead or in prison.

Comments: This was a novel about life on the streets by someone who had been there.

Corey gets sucked into the drug trade on his block. He is witness to violence and also commits violence. He goes to prison where he is given the chance to choose between going straight, a choice represented by Tate, another inmate, or continuing his life of crime, represented by Doc, also an inmate.

At the beginning of the book, Corey is t

Very gripping story about a young man named Corey who starts selling drugs at a young age, and ends up in prison when he's 16 years old. The writing was very strong in this book in a story that I felt I'd seen before, it's very similar to the 2002 urban classic film, Paid in Full.
