Reviews

[David]

I own this omnibus book and have reviewed each novel separately. See each title for details.

All were good; La Brava was my favorite

[Abonrat]

Three of Leonard's fine short novels.
Classic noir, steeped in gritty realism & with Leonard's characteristic free direct discourse narrative bringing us intimately into the characters thoughts.
The first story "LaBrava" won the 1984 Edgar for best mystery novel.

Donated to the Library in the purge of 2017.

Martin Amis wrote that Leonard is as american as jazz. I think that's exactly right. Reading Leonard is like listening to great jazz and these are three pretty fine pieces of music.
