I read some other reviews after I read this book. I would have to agree it is a bit all over the place. It didn’t really give ideas on when or how to use some of the knowledge. Might be handy to have as a basic resource guide to review if you need to know if your cat is angry. Honestly save your money and find one of the better books to invest in. If you are curious to understand your cat or dog check it out at your library for free.

At first I thought this book was rad, then I really started marking what I wanted to try and noted the ratio between those and the total 373 items was so low. This book has some good recipes and a couple of other items I will use but I don't think I'll have an urge to make something like, oh, say the "Squirrel Skillet Pie." It also had a bunch of useless crafts I would never do like how to decorate wrapping paper using an apple as a stamp (hmm, I think that was an art project in the 1st grade) and how to use a grapevine to make a wreath. I have a grapevine but won't be using it to make a wreath anytime soon, thank you very much. All in all, if you're curious check it out at the library...I wouldn't buy it. Also, it seemed like all of these items could be easily located via a Google search.

Country Wisdom Almanac is packed with tips, crafts, etc as the name suggests. It's divided into sections by season which I mostly like. I have now read through Autumn and will finish the section on Winter when I can better focus on that season! Entries that I'm most interested in include recipes, uses for herbs, gardening and home repairs.

I finished the book even though winter is a long way off. There are so many pages I've dogeared and will return to throughout the seasons.

A friend suggested this book. I found a used copy and have loved it. If you want to know how to build a chicken coop, make soap, can food or build a smoke house, this book if for you. There is so much great stuff between the covers of this over-sized book, it could take you years to complete all the projects. LUV this book.

This book gave me several project tips for my blog (modernishhomemaker.com) as well as tips for improving my garden's soil quality and yield for next year.
