Tiger In The Rain

THE TIGER...

One night long ago, Michaela Bellegarde had fled from a dark, brooding tiger of a man who had taunted her, tasted her passion, then turned her away. But Guy Matherson had never forgotten their brief but searing encounter. Haunted by her beauty and innocence, he'd long felt in Michaela's debt for the magic touch that had turned his luck around.

AND THE LADY

Now, years later, she faced Guy again, when he was wounded and on the run from a desperate enemy. One look into his mesmerizing eyes and Michaela knew there was nothing she could ever refuse him. But would passion be enough to save them this time around?

This was such a nice read. The heroine has just passed her bar exam and is waiting to start work in her uncle's firm when out of the blue she receives a huge cheque from the hero's lawyer. The heroine met the hero seven years earlier when she was trying to earn some money for college in Vegas; he was a gambler and when she asked him for his help recovering money someone stole from her he said no stealing a kiss and bracelet in return. Curious about the cheque she makes her way to the hero and discovers he has been shot and even thwarts another attempt on his life. He asks for her help to escape the hospital and she refuses but runs into an almost collapsed him near her car. She takes him home in her car to her great-grandmother's place. I liked the sparks these two had. The heroine had left quite an impression on the hero years back. The heroine helps him recuperate and you can see these two forging a deeper connection but his life is in danger from a former partner from his gambling days. I found the book delightful, the romance despite its pace worked for me and I loved her great-grandmother as well. The heroine totally shook the hero's secure world.
