Hey there readers! I am a part of many reader groups and I came across this lovely lady's page on FB one day and joined her reader's group. She was promoting her debut novel with several giveaways, and I happen to win a copy of her novel, Orphan Flowers. I started reading it and I couldn't tear myself away from the book. Being an avid reader, I've read many books and LOVE a book with angst and passion. Probably my favorite genre, but the SUSPENSE and detailed fluidity of the this book was just a ...more

This book caused my heart to race almost all the way through, I don't normally read tense books. I did enjoy this book though and had to get to end before sleeping!

Lilly has been kidnapped, she doesn't understand why, the man thinks she's someone else. She does what she has to to survive hoping it won't be long until she is found.

The books delves into and tells the story from many perspectives, the captor, the hostage, the husband and the daughter, it also goes from past to present - yes that is

The story revolves around a detective, who goes by Murray, his teenage daughter Callie, and wife, Lily-May, who gets kidnapped when Callie is a young girl. Years go by and no evidence was found in her case. But Detective Murray and Callie never gave up hope. One day, Detective Murray encounters a women by the name of Justine, who holds the key to crucial evidence in Lily-May’s case. We also get to see Lily

Great story that kept me wanting to read more and more.
The only reason I gave it only 4 stars was for the editing. There were times where there were extra words or an 's' missing or things like that. This is not at all a comment on the writing or the story. the writing was excellent and again kept me in suspense to find out what would be revealed next.

Although this is the first part in a series, I would be satisfied with this as a stand alone. At the same time, I am curious to read the next bo

This book was well written with a good story line and interesting characters. However it just wasn’t for me. There is nothing wrong with the book really but we all know not every book is for everyone. I just couldn’t get into it. Lily-May is taken by a man who mistakes her for someone else. She wakes up in captivity and tries to tell him she isn’t who she thinks he is but he doesn’t believe her. She decides to go along with it and try to figure out a way to escape. She begins to pretend to be th ...more

This book may contain some triggers so read with caution. After I saw the blurb for this book I was sure I was going to enjoy it and enjoy it I did. It was a little slow to start and in parts a little hard to follow but the storyline was enough to hold my attention which was great.
There were parts of the story that gave things away as it was written in several points of view which some characters worked things out before others but

I was so excited about this book after reading the blurb because it sounded really good and I love mystery/suspense so I picked it up. I was instantly drawn into this story. I had a hard time connecting with the characters. There wasn't a lot of depth to them. I did enjoy how the story went from past to present. It did get you a little more familiar with the characters, but still would have loved more. While the premises of the book was good, it didn't really leave you hanging too long on what is happening, as it comes out fairly early in the book. Which then made t

Details!!! Damn JC rocked the details out of the park with this book.
I could picture her characters in my mind with no difficulties. Locations, scenery etc. The details brought this mysterious story to life.
With multiple points of view, a huge plot twist and a few personal triggers...I only had to stop once to take a breather.
I enjoyed this book very much. The writing was excellent.
There is a part of the story I don't like, but I'm sure the author will turn my thoughts on it in the next book, Oi

This Book!! I didn't know what to expect really going into this one, and it's not something I would 'normally read', but BOY am I ever glad I got to! I love to see all the different sides of the story, I love it was all in one place, and I love that it works very well as its written! This journey to know the characters was intense and I just wanted to read one more page, find out more of what was coming! Wow, J.C. very well done!

This book hooked me from page one. Don't want to give anything away so all I'm going to say is, YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK. Do not start reading late if you have to work the next day because this is one book that is hard to put down. There are parts that will make you cry and parts that will have you so mad that you want to choke that person for what they are doing. If I could I would give this book a 10 star review. Thank you J.C. Rochford for an amazing story. Can't wait for the next book

This was a good book, but I really had trouble getting into it. The many POV's and the dates that go from present to past, made it difficult to follow at times.
The main characters will rip your heart out, I admit I cried while reading it as well. If you like mystery and suspense then this is the book for you.
For this being a debut novel, it was pretty good indeed.

This story is full of suspense. It grabs you from the very beginning, and it keeps you totally involved until the very end. Once it ends, you immediately want more. The multiple POVs were seamless. It seemed to capture the soul of each character and let you feel their pain and their joy. I found myself whispering to myself as I tried to help poor Lily. This is the first book I have read by Ms. Rochford, and it won’t be the last. I won this book during a giveaway.

Wonderful debut suspense novel

As a detective fiction fan, I was pleasantly surprised by Ms. Rochford's work. My heart went out to Lily to have endured all she did in the book. I anticipate future works by this author.
