Breastfeeding with Confidence is a practical guide to breastfeeding designed to take the mystery out of the process and provide new mothers with the practical skills and insights they need to be successful. Author Sue Cox explains both the art and the method of breastfeeding, and addresses the fact that making milk comes naturally, but breastfeeding is a learned skill. When many mothers-to-be are asked if they'll breastfeed, they often answer, "I will if I can." Cox counters that answer proactively and positively with information, advice, support, resources and encouragement for new mothers.
Breastfeeding with Confidence - Accessible information in an easy-to-read and easy-to-understand format - Answers to any questions mothers could have about breastfeeding - Illustrations to help mothers with how to position their baby - Symbols that label key information (the key symbol highlights pointers to becoming a skillful and loving mother, the male symbol indicates items that may particularly interest the father, the apple symbol denotes healthy actions, and the cross symbol is for emergency aid.) - Work pages for mothers to take notes and track progress - Helpful "things to do" suggestions as a proactive approach to solving problems - Stories and comments from breastfeeding mothers, with lots of reassuring advice and information.

Currently I am 6 months pregnant and have been facing a lot of anxiety related to not just childbirth but even related to breastfeeding. Reading this book definitely helped to increase my knowledge about and comfort level with breastfeeding. I would highly recommend this book to pregnant women looking to learn more about breastfeeding before undertaking the journey.
Found this book in a book shop in Noosa, before it had arrived in New Zealand. It's ideal for pregnant women, and is less wordy and complex than say the womanly art of Breastfeeding. It's small enough to read in a couple of sittings, and has good practical evidence based approaches. I purchased Sue Cox's DVD of the same name. A must see for promoting the breast crawl, and skin to skin.
I cannot yet tell you if the tips and suggestions in this book work as I have not yet had my baby, but I CAN tell you that this is a very short, sweet, and informative little nugget of a book! Whether you're wondering how to start or need to troubleshoot, this book provides great information in an easily digestible way.
skipped the less relevant sections. quick read and some things were very helpful. some of the descriptions of all the different positions... think it will be easier with video.
*Update* After having a baby with feeding difficulties and a tongue tie — not covering this in the book seems like a huge oversight since it affects ~3% of people.
Excellent little book. A quick read with lots of good basic information. A good companion to a more thorough breastfeeding book. I especially liked the wheels to chart feedings, pees/bm's, and sleep - I used them for both my children in the first few weeks. I recommend.
Hi all new moms.... By reading this book, i could understand how to give breastfeeding properly, even there are many styles to give breastfeeding... So if u are a mom to be or a new mom, its recommended book to read, breastfeeding is the most important. Food for our beloved baby... ^^
Although I haven't started breastfeeding yet and therefore can't attest to its helpfulness, this book was very informative and I'll be hanging on to it for reference when baby arrives.
A wonderful, quick read that I plan on owning. It covers all the basics and gives practical solutions to many problems mothers face while breastfeeding. I highly recommend it.
