This book describes 79 hikes of varying lengths and difficulties all over Kentucky. Many of the hikes highlight one possible trail of many in an area. I like that many of the easy hikes vary in distance, this helps in planing hikes with my children. I also like that both popular and lesser known trails are highlighted.

The beginning of the book has a chart with a list of the hikes and highlights what an individual may find enjoyable about the hike (lakes, geology, wild flowers, etc.) The chart is handy but does not list the distance or difficulty of each hike, that would have been handy.

This guide was originally published in 2002 and revised in 2007, some of the trails may have changed during that time.
