The Moon Haunted Heart is a collection of 50 stories by Terrance Alden Shaw with a tantalizing by line: "50 Stories from that secret place where love and madness meet". It's an apt content warning and description of his focus. For the most part the collection is not the standard fare of short form erotica. In his biography Mr. Shaw's work is described as 'psycho-erotica', an exploration of the inner landscape of thoughts and feelings that arise from seduction and surrender to sexual urges.

By turns beautiful, disturbing, humorous, thought-provoking, intriguing, eye-opening, occasionally heart-breaking, The Moon-Haunted Heart is a sensual, lyric feast, from first page to last.

In addition to short stories running the gamut from philosophical to lusty, this book brims with jeweled vignettes, with pivotal moments in character’s lives, with surprises, with the prose equivalent of haiku.
