Her life of secrecy has never been easy. She’s watched her younger brother, Jeremy, burn and rise again in a coming-of-age process called rebirth. And just like her brother, when her time comes, she won’t remember anything from her first life other than she’s a Phoenix—a member o

As many of you will know, I am always on the lookout for YA books with unique concepts. There's nothing better than reading a book and seeing the way an author has twisted and shaped familiar elements into something new and improved.

That type of author is the kind that can turn an ordinary plot into a tale whose every word keeps you on the edge of your seat. Into The Fire is that kind of book.

So get ready for a smoking hot book yes this is start of my use of Into the Fire puns YOU HAVE BEEN WAR

Into the Fire YA paranormal book about a girl who is a month away from her rebirth into a Phoenix. That alone made me want to read this book! Its not something I've read a lot about before, and Kelly puts a really unique twist on it! While it definitely was completely unique, the story had aspects that reminded me a little of the Lux series so if you're a fan of that then you should totally check out Into the Fire!

Our main character, Cara, is about to become a Phoenix - she'll die and be reborn

This book was superb. What a unique concept where the main character is a Phoenix. I can honestly, hand on heart say I've never read a story like it before. Not just because of the plot line, but because of the beautifully crafted characters. Each character, whether primary or secondary, were just as important to the story as each other. Yes, Cara is our lead, but without the cast of supporting characters, you wouldn't have the same story. And what a crying shame that would be.

I liked the blurb. The story has potential, but it fell flat for me. I think the whole story moves very slow which made it boring for this reader.

I have been waiting for this book and this series for quite some time. I heard about it years ago, in a previous iteration, and back before Kelly took off as a published author with her first series, TOUCH OF DEATH. Needless to say, I had high expectations, and Kelly has delivered in flames of fire licking every page, scorching me with her characters of Cara and Logan, and singeing my fingertips as I turned each page. Okay, I lied. As I swiped each ePage. I read an eCopy of the book. You get the ...more

So, let me tell you how cool it is that I got to read this as an ARC. Kelly Hashway- being so cool- offered a contest for a few bloggers to help read ARCs and share the goodies. I happened to win, and I am seriously STOKED that I got to read this one. I must say, if you haven't read anything by her yet, you should! She is a great writer, but THIS ONE, yeah this one has sealed the deal for me. It's a wonderful new series starter and it's a fantastic plot line with some seriously cool twisting on ...more

Into the Fire is a wonderful young adult contemporary romance full of tension and passion. You can relate to both main characters, Cara and Logan, as their relationship blossoms through their family hardships. Yet, is it love? Or is it purely the “imprint”—a combination of emotions and an attraction so strong you’re literally drawn to a specific person, no matter how much you attempt to reason with yourself? On top of it all, Cara is no ordinary girl. She is a phoenix, who can live five

Into the Fire, Book-Lovers another Ya series, but this time I am quite upset.

On a positive, I am totally loving the cover, the covers for the whole series are lush!

*Insert Sad Face Here* This one for me was really hard for myself to get into *gasp* I know right!

Firstly! Let’s get out now that I hate Cliff hangers, they make me feel sick, like seriously why…*wails* WHY? People, why? Torment us like that!

I had mixed feelings in the beginning of the book. Cara is so tortured about her brother's death and yet she had plenty of time to prepare. If she knew it would happen why was she hoping it would be different. I guess that is just how some people are but I had a hard time identifying with it. The rest was pretty great though except her mom. Being a mom myself I was pretty mad at her for not being more understanding and helpful with Cara's situation. She had imprinted herself, so she of all peopl ...more

Cara and her family are phoenixes. In the beginning, Cara has to watch her brother Jeremy be reborn from ashes. After he’s consumed by fire, it’s as if he has amnesia. He remembers nothing, and Cara does her best helping him get by in life by coaching him on who’s who and what’s what. This is quite a shock to Cara…and the thing is she’s next in line. She’s going to be reborn soon.

She falls hard for the new boy in her small town, New Yorker Logan. Cara tries to push him away, but the attraction i

With twists and turns a reader cannot possibly predict, Into The Fire keeps you on your toes! Cara is a character you can cheer for, cry for, and laugh with. She isn't just a myth, she's a typically teenage girl with a secret some people would kill for.

Cara Tilllman watches as her brother burns to ashes and rises again. They are Phoenixes. Cara watches carefully as her brother begins his second life because Cara's rebirth is coming soon.

Who wouldn't want to have a second life? A Phoenix who does

Ok where do I begin. I mean first a book about phoenixes is cool already but then when you combine Kelly's writing you get a really amazing read. I have loved her writing since I read her Touched by Death series and couldn't wait to try out another one. I loved the whole concept of this book with us meeting Cara and learning what she is and what happens to her when she is reborn was really cool and unique. I loved that the author created something different and not the norm of what is out there. ...more

An explosive paranormal adventure filled with romantic entanglements, you don't want to miss this start to what is sure to be a scorching new series!
I was completely entranced by the new world that Hashway has created, and so glad Cara wasn't the whiny teen that so many of the modern paranormal romances seem to fixate on. Sure she had her complaints but they were completely valid, given she had a boy falling for her when she was about to become her new self. Tons of fun, and at times a bit of a

What's not to love! First love, first kisses, and steamy screens. Really steamy-because Cara is a Phoenix. The idea is original and new. I've not read anything about a mythical bird/human hybrid ever. I love Cara and Logan's chemistry and the way they are drawn to each other, like real teens. Everything seems realistic and I'm drawn into the small town of Ashlan Falls.

The bad guy is hinted at towards the center of the story and is a surprise when you figure it out. It's a twist that I thoroughl

Kelly Hashway did it again! Another stellar book with swoon worthy characters and delicious teen angst. I loved the use of phoenixes. A nice change in the supernatural world. Plus the "side effects" of phoenixes was fun! I want natural red highlights and cinnamon scent... even if it means I could accidentally burn the house down when angry! The only downsides... I have a book hangover and it ended with a "OMG I NEED THE NEXT BOOK NOW" urge. A nice, freshing, YA book theme with lovable characters ...more

I wasn't sure what to expect from a book about a girl who bursts into fire and rises from the ashes, but this is, at its heart, a young adult romance. Cara is torn between her feelings for Logan and the knowledge that loving her can be very, very bad for his health, especially since she risks bursting into flames every time things "heat up" between them. Whether you're a fantasy reader or not, you'll love the relatable adolescent themes in this book. ...more

Kelly Hashway's first book in the Into The Fire trilogy is a knockout. Fans of Twilight's star crossed lovers will love the romance. But add a who done it twist to the storyline, and you have this book! I am not a big fan of paranormal stories, but I could not put this book down!!!! I'm ready for the next book in the series!

Note, I received an advance copy of this book in order for my honest review.

Spoilers ahead.

A lot of how well I rate a book comes down to my overall mood when I'm reading it. I can either be unforgiving or can look past anything. I'm about 20 years past the target audience for this book, and given I read a decent amount of young adult fiction I try to separate out the books that appeal to older readers for those that I feel talk down to the audience. I also spend a good amount of time trying to remember what I read back in the mid-1990s, and the answer always come back t

Once burnt

This really is a good book. I like how it moves right along and has made the characters real. What I don't like is that it's not a stand alone book. Even in a series, books can stand alone as one among others. These are the reasons why I will rate it as a 8.

This is one of my favorite books of 2016 so far.
There are so many things I love about this book. I love the concept of it. The Phoenix concept is one that I haven't read yet, so I enjoyed it. The book started off with Jeremy, Cara's brother, being reborn, which is part of being a Phoenix. The author didn't give a lot of backstory as far as Phoenixes and the story of Cara and her family. Rather, the reader finds out this information as the story unfolds, which I thought was cool. A YA supernatura

Ok, so let me start with a confession... I love phoenixes. Seriously, I love everything about them from the symbolism to the mythology to the imagery. So when I heard that Kelly Hashway was writing a series about them, I am not too proud to say that I did a happy dance in front of my computer screen. And then I got a copy of the book and did another jubilant jig.

However in the midst of my celebrating, I had a horrible thought... what if it isn't as good as I think it is going to be? We've exper

Kelly Hashway fully admits to being one of the most accident-prone people on the planet, but that didn’t stop her from jumping out of an airplane at ten thousand feet one Halloween.
