It was fine. But there was a jump in the story where I thought a page must be missing. And it just ends kind of abruptly without much happening. My 5yo said, "Wait, that was it?"

This was silly and cute. Two hamsters want to use the newspaper in their cage for different things. Then they escape and make Halloween masks.

This is a cute story about two class pets joining in on the Halloween fun. The narrative is short, perfect for beginning readers and the illustrations are adorable.

We enjoyed reading this book together and even though these books are a bit too easy for our girls, they really like the cute critters. We will certainly look for more Max & Mo books at our local library.

My 4-year-old likes the "Max & Mo" series. I don't think it's the easiest book to read (even though it's a level 1) because it has more words than some of the other level 1 books we've read, but it's still fairly easy for a beginner reader.

There are simple instructions at the end of the book for your child to make their own mask.

I did not like the part where they escaped, because I would not like it if I were one of the people in school. I did not like the part where they made a mask and a costume. I did not like more, but I think that I wouldn't have enough room.

A cute Halloween story! Very simple words and good illustrations. This book is high in the "m" phoneme. It occurs 43 times in the initial position of words.
